She was having nightmares! EVERY NIGHT! Every.single.night. This morning she woke up and told me *she slept well*. I've just been thinking she wasn't a morning person the entire time! I've never quite been in this situation before but I feel like figuring something like this out for my SO would result in me finding them ASAP. Telling them their stupid (for hiding it) then hugging the crap out of them.

She probably wasn't actually hiding it from us, though. I'd guess that these nightmares predate Sabrina--she's seen enough shit to explain it, even without the lichbomb.
She probably didn't mention them because they were normal for her, and didn't seem worth talking about anymore. Not to mention that she's the type to put up a facade of wellness in order to avoid troubling the people close to her.
I mean, she becomes the Dress-Up WItch for a reason.

Mami Tomoe's situation, like most of the girls in PMMM, fall so far outside of my experience with people it would funny if it was not so tragic for the characters involved.
Thus my initial reactions to any given situation are more like... guidelines.

Sabrina in the next post is going to be doing everything to get ready for the day like normal and then stop as she realizes the whole nightmare thing. Then proceed to go hug Mami.
Hmm. Sometimes a spade is just a spade. I don't know that Mami's necessarily had nightmares every night, especially since we did specifically go to bed extra early yesterday. The talk we had with her probably did help her sleep extra soundly, too.
Still, the "fail case" for comforting Mami is just giving her an extra hug, so it's not exactly a big deal to include it. I wouldn't be astonished if Mami just kept not being a morning person in general in the future, though.

Yeah, but some people were concerned that it would be too pushy so I took it off the vote to avoid splitting. We can re-evaluate after the Homutalk, since I doubt we'll get to everything in the current vote afterwards.
I remember the OOC reason why Mami is not a morning person is that Firn rolled for it. Of course, Firn tends to have the OOC and IC reason be the same thing, so maybe he rolled for how well Mami dealt with her trauma...
Actually, nightmares might be involved, but is the focus Mami's loneliness?
Mami's lonely, and whenever she went to aslee before Sabrina popped up, she was at her loneliest, wasn't she? Alone in the dark and silence, nobody else home, no task to distract her, only her thoughts that would circle back to her own loneliness.
It makes even more sense how driven Mami is. If she didn't worn out herself every day, she probably wouldn't have been able to sleep at all, sometimes.
So... Right now she go such a close enough relationship with someone, she could bring herself to kiss them. Mami overcame a huge fear when she kissed Sabrina, she commited her feelings against the fear that they would be rejected, and Sabrina accepted them, accepted Mami.
In canon she makes a promise with a girl she barely knows to be friends/partners and she's the happiest she's been in forever. Here she go a girlfriend she can openly give and receive affection from. Sabrina's basically the holy panacea to Mami's number one most crushing problem.
BTW, we do remember one time Mami woke up crying the middle of the night, too. After the bomb drops, she was crying for losing KB as a friend, realizing he wasn't actually her friend perhaps and reconsidering all those times with KB at her side as being actually alone. She specifically brought up that KB was the only one at her birthday. :/

Of all the tasks we will ever encounter, this is the one most in need of us, personally. Our skills are tailored perfectly to the situation. We have the knowledge and the skills to Hug Mami, and we shall do so as soon as possible.
I wonder what would happen if you took all the updates in which someone was hugged and put them together. Would it make a cohesive story? Which characters would be more prominent? Would it just be PMAS as it has always been? I need to test this...

So what I'm getting from this is that Mami Requires Hugs.

It's not perfectly tallied, I might have counted some hugs more than once, but it should give a general idea of how Sabrina's hugging life has progressed.
Before the tally update, we can see Nagisa was the second most hugged person in Sabrina's life, as she gets lots of hugs whenever she appears, even if she only visits now and then. But now, thanks to a hearthfelt talk with lots and lots of hugs, Homu got the second place!
We can see Mami's approaching 400 hugs, which is impressive, as she was only at 142 hugs before tally update. Take into account the first tally covered pages 1-21 of the story only thread, while the updated tally includes that and 22-27, though it's more like 22-26 and a half.
We had already observed that the speed at which Mami received hugs was increasing back then, but this is astounding! Mami's getting hugged at around 50 hugs per page nowadays! That's 2 hugs per update!
And that's not quite counting how long those hugs are, some of those hugs span across updates!
Furthermore, we can calculate that with Sabrina having been around for 17 days, she's got hugged and gave hugs at an approximate rate of 28 hugs per day. That's more hugs than hours there are per day!
Of course, ~23 of those daily hugs are from Mami. If we hug Mami a little more a little faster, we will have soon not only given and received OVER 400 HUGS from Mami, but also will have got more hugs from Mami than hours we've been alive and hugging!
We're making history, people. Just a little more and we'll reach those milestones.
And then we'll set up new milestones, of course, but that's besides the point.
