It is sustainable, actually, if you're transfering that grief back into grief seeds, and then killing the newborn witches to reuse their seeds.

Course, the witch probably becomes even stronger from all the build up of grief, but an army of magical girls probably don't give a care about that.

I know you want diplomacy to prevail, but diplomacy needs time and trust, which we haven't built up yet. We won't get anywhere if we keep harping on about morality and justice at her.

Even aside from the tactical and strategic problems with attacking, you generally don't attack someone you're negotiating with unless they start something first. It's one of those important traditions that applies to everyone, even evil dicks, heck even Nazis.

Don't be so afraid of one failure state, that you'll settle for a different one in advance.

We're not done. I won't say this isn't a difficult conversation, but sure as hell it must be feeling worse than it actually it's going.

The girls have been talking for minutes. For us, it's been a week.


If it comes down to it, we can ask Homura to timestop, get Kirika to make some antimagic manacles or such, and slap them on Riona from timestop.

First contact: Antimagick'd. If we can trust Riona's words (which we seem to be), all the Souls she's keeping will pass on if we just wait, at that point.
 
If Rionna's shades fade from her not putting in the effort, it means all shades are freed upon her death, and given her mortality, it isn't eternal torment. Still disgusting and worth trying to do something about. Especially if she's using False Griefbending to sustain her enterprise.

Good People = People so terrified by her power they try to kill her and well, waste not want not is the most charitable interpretation I can come up with.

Hm.

The Edinburgh council area has a population of 476,000, which is pittance compared to Tokyo's 13 million. I'm not sure how muggle population relates to Witch population, though.

Do we have any concrete numbers on the number of Witches the average city produces our week? I know about the witches a meguca has to hunt for survival, and I know Mitakhara has a higher number of Witches than normal.

It sounds fine. We'll either get some exposition or she'll brush it off. The important thing is to make what we want and how she could help clear. If she won't bite then it's time to plan for hammer time.

Onmur, I'm not advocating giving up. Now that we've met her we can use telepathy to keep bugging her about these things across the planet, and take our time to do it right. If we keep pushing her right now, she might be the one to get violent, not the angry voices in our head.

Also, as a general response, I keep seeing 'Secretly contact our friends and update them' pop up. This is very rude and also risky. If Rionna catches us she might think we're calling in an airstrike. The polite thing to do is ask for a recess to confer with our team, not open secret backchannel communications.

Yes, the one thing i wanted from meeting soulguca was for her to look at the soul in the clear seed and see what happens to it as it absorbs a fuckton of grief
 
Our bottom line here is that we can't work together with her unless she stops enslaving more souls. We can talk about our dewitching effort and how it could benefit from her expertise, but if growing her power is more important to her, then that's that. She can stay for a day and then go back home.

We, on the other hand, can take time to talk with our friends, see what they think. The option of killing or gemming her is problematic no matter when we decide to do it. Waiting a bit for the sake of plausible deniability and then attacking her from timestop seems like a good way to go about that, and Homura will go along if we ask, but I'm not sure how Mami or Sayaka will react to that idea.
