Re Privacy Bubble
Have we tried sending one of our chibi into someone else's Bubble? We can do a bubble swap with Sayaka. One of her clones goes into our bubble, one of our body doubles goes into her bubble.
That would take a while to do.

Sayaka would get to copy the Chibi, though!

... Or at least, her clone would. Would Sayaka Prime get the copy? :thonk:

I think I realized what I was liking so much of the current interactions between Sabrina and Sayaka: Sayaka doesn't have big issues that pull her down (yet? hopefully not) like Mami's loneliness and Homura's lack of self worth. As such Sayaka seems to really be as bubbly as she appears to be. That makes scenes focusing only on Sayaka and Sabrina prime material for playful banter.

The best part is that Sayaka is that, no matter how bubbly she can look, she's still taking seriously being a magical girl both in battle and outside of it.
Maybe we should tell Sayaka it's nice hanging out with her?

Apropos of nothing, I've always thought Madoka has the most unsettling transformation track of them all in the Rebellion. That cheerful, uplifting melody, that frankly Mahou Shoujo sequence, her smiling face-
Fucking creeps me out every time I watch.
I guess not-so-subtle hints of her divine nature throughout it don't really help...

Happiness creeps you out?

Her brand of happiness. Or this very instance of it? I just... I guess I'm having a Brown Note, or cognitive dissonance or somesuch.
I mean: "Meduka, bing Meguca is suffering. Y U happy?"
Or something.
Normally, I'm all for happiness.
Better yet, mandatory happiness. :V

Well... it's Madoka through the lens of Homura. Happy, perfect, pure, without flaw. Everything good, everything she cherishes. The star of the show that Homura is directing. and beneath that veil, the shimmering, absolute, soft and comforting hand of God.

That makes a lot of sense. I'll still shiver in instictual horror every time I hear the last sequence of the Holy Quintet, but at least now I know what it means.
Thanks.

The destruction of her home is something she still finds extremely upsetting, and we have no idea how her parents are taking essentially living off the Shizukis' charity.
Alright, so that's bad, and we should try to either help, or possibly even deligate at this point (Would it be time effective? Do we know anyone we could trust to do it well enough to relax from micromanaging?), but not exactly the sort of "this is a terrible thing and there's nothing i can do about it" sort of problem i was thinking of.

Thankfully i think that we could solve some of those problems via setting up the Mamigold hotel; having some normals related to MGs helping manage the place should be both viable and preferable.
What do you suppose would happen if a clone used a clear seed then?
Oh, well, at first i was thinking about how that would effect the pseudo-gem itself (We really need to look into the relationship between the gem and the clone (projection?) of the gem before we go into something blind), but then i was thinking about how the Seeds interacted with "colored" magic, and how there was a mind actively connected to those bundles of magic, and i just realised that i had not even the bairest hint of the worst case situation.

Yeah, failsafing that witchbomb just moved up on our priorities a little bit of a lot.

So guys, what're ye talking about?

Honestly, I'm just happy everything went as smoothly as it did, though that might change in the next few updates. Also, any plans on when to tell Sayaka, or does she come to us for the worldcrushing revelationing?

Anyway, great idea. We could make an enchanted guantlet for Sayeku-- seems thematically appropriate. That would befuddle Sabrina, though, given how she knows popstuff that doesn't even exist, given its 2011 and a different timeline besides. Or does she already know her memories are from, presumably, a different world and time? I think she does.

Anyway, I didn't read the past fifty or so pages, so what about our Witch patients? Do we have tentative plans of testing physical mediums with them?

*Ahem*

"Fun isn't something one considers when balancing the fate of Meguca, but this... does put a smile on my face."

Homusaurus Rex would like nothing more than for Madoka to stay on that fucking platter.
And now I am thinking JP memes.

The question, though, is who's a clever girl. Sayaka or Sabrina.
Didn't Sayaka say she was going to start using clones from practicing while at school?
One of these days Homura is going to bring Sabrina into timestop, and beckon her to come with, and walk slowly through Mitakihara frozen in time to the stadium, and it'll full of Sayakas sparring against each other.

And Homura will turn to Sabrina and say: "You did this. This is on you."

EDIT: If you want a vision of the future, imagine Sayakas boot, stamping on Sayakas face, forever.

"HUE HUE HUE!" - Walpurgisnacht, laughing and eating nachos while watching the spectacle.

Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet are a hell of a lot older than you might think.

A thing I thought of that we should maybe consider now or soon.

So we're putting a hold on a lot of the "therapy for meguca, both as part of our long-term organizational goals and in the short term for people we know now, be that Anri or our various friend-friends who need several war-barges of therapy" until we can talk to Hitomi's mom, yeah?

Two things. One, I think that we could also maybe spend some time in-thread tossing around ideas and game plans about what we want to accomplish during that talk specifically, and about our long- and mid-term goals as a whole. Getting a well-organized list of thoughts down now in-thread between anyone willing to engage in the background of the slightly lower pressure votes of the present would probably be good, because it would be getting some of the parts of Sabrina's planning that take a lot of time done early, instead of mid-conversation where there's the pressure to hurry up so we can update and get more information. Kind of like solving a problem without all the intel early, and then analyzing how to change it as intel changes, instead of trying to solve and analyze on the fly as new intel comes in, which is what I suspect we end up doing a lot. I noticed, actually, that this was something we kinda inadvertently avoided with the offering-Sayaka-the-Witchbomb conversation; we had thought about it, the pros and cons, for the talk with Homura, and even though we weren't literally planning for it to be posed to us as the very next update, it seemed to me that the resulting crosstalk went a lot smoother when we already had a basic plan and just needed to work on the particulars. Whereas if we'd been talking with Homura at lunch about something else, and then Sayaka had asked about our super dangerous secrets when we hadn't planned it out fully, or before we'd talked to Homura about it, I definitely think there would have been more panic, and probably things we'd have missed thinking about.

Secondly, if we get around to checking those IRCs today (and indeed, next time we have even a half hour or so that we can internet during), I think it might be good to start getting together some research in-universe about Western-style therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and so forth, in Mitakihara. (And getting it down on paper, or a digital tablet, or literally anything more professional than our cell phone or 'just remembering it'.) Yeah, we're going to be talking to Hitomi's mom about the matter, and seriously considering and putting weight on her advice and possible contacts, but going into that discussion with more than just a serious face and some words will be more professional, seem more prepared. And also, having a good idea of the state of the profession in our area will give us good context for that talk, when we have it; we won't just be saying "ah yes Mrs. Shizuki, please give us a basic primer about mental healthcare in Japan" or even worse, "yes Mrs. Shizuki, we've got a pretty good idea about how mental healthcare in Japan is" (relying on OOC intel) and then missing some in-universe information (like reviews from people on the interwebs, for example; at the very least things like 'is this therapist LGBTQ+ friendly' might could be found online, and with the group as it is, that's the bare minimum we need for 'special requirements') that will make us look like an idiot later. Even a few lines of notes would be something tangible that will increase Sabrina's general credibility for not just the "let's ask about therapists" part of the talk, but also the explaining-about-meguca talk in general. (Which... we should also maybe start to think about a bit.)

Anyway, yeah, so that's what occurred to me a bit earlier. Thoughts?

Movie quotes, mayyyn, movie quotes. Sure, Infinity War's a comic book, but the references, they matter.

Eh. IW's a good film, I won't deny that, but I was raised on the real deal. If you wanna reference something, then you reference Thanos' heroic pretty boy brother who is psychologically incapable of keeping it in his pants.

Or we could descend straight into the unholy depths of pop culture and start referencing Earth X trilogy by Alex Ross. Just for the hell of it.
... On the other hand, let's not overuse the pop culture reference sheet, or Sayaka will think Sabrina is a fifteen year old geek with no social life besides teh Mumihugs. Well, it's somewhat correct, but dammit, we are senpai, we've got a reputation to maintain.

We just need a Star Trek poster beside David Bowie, and a bunch of Gundam model kits. Cosplay armory, don't forget that. Actually, I think it'd be a good investment to provide some Magical Girls recreational games like DnD or Pathfinder or any Children's card game, but that's besides the discussion so file it off for later if it so pleases you.

It's early Wednesday. That talk won't happen until Saturday IC at the soonest. It won't happen in 2018 IRL, and probably not until the second half of 2019. Plotting a conversation that far in advance is pretty pointless, since it'll need to be rehashed in detail repeatedly anyway.

I'd say around IRL December is when we might want to start planning for that.

presumably Sabrina's from 2014, when the quest started. Oh, by Madokami, I will not see this matter the same way again.

Sabrina's made post-2014 references.

H I S T O R Y I S B E I N G REWRITTEN AS W E S P E A K!

Inconceivable! Impossible! This is the other metabomb, everyone.

Do you understand the implications? Time has ceased its flow; causality is remolded per update!

Sabrina was born as a direct result of Homura and Madoka saying "fuck you" to the laws of time; the Fates already hate us. Why not make pop culture references to things that don't exist yet/

Weeell
There was that bit from the Witch Quest.
Some people argued that it's what's killed the quest.

Edit: wait a minute: presumably Sabrina's from 2014, when the quest started. Oh, by Madokami, I will not see this matter the same way again.

This.
Sabrina has made references post-2014 IRL, Rebellion, non-canon fanworks and even a one-time shoutout to the omake on this very thread. ( the last one is probably inaccurate, it might've been that people asked if they could. Not sure. )

As far as we know, Sabrina has perfect metaknowledge, continuously extending forward in time. Though I wonder how Firn would handle the coming of the Fourth Movie, if it ever does. :V
