We probably can pretend we're calling just because we wanted to meet and talk about soul stuff, but she might become a tiny little bit suspicious.

I mean, we are just calling because we want to meet and talk about soul stuff, it just happens to coincide with the fact that she's about to be in our city, right? Unless there was something besides that? (Our helping-people-thing is an everyone-thing, and need not be specified!)

I expect the old paranoid guca to be suspicious.

I'm not certain, but I'd rather pretend we don't know she's coming and have our first impression be face to face?

"Hey, do you know what time you'll be getting in? My buddy's precog only told me you'd be here some time this week and the uncertainty is making scheduling difficult."

"While you're at it, why don't you tell me whether you are somehow connected to an apocalyptical feathered entity? I mean, it's kinda important, and I'd really like to know if I should prepare for stuffing your duct-taped to a Clear Seed Soul Gem in Mami's fridge."
:V

I'd like to visit O&K, better get it done while we'reon our own, too. Except maybe for the part where we ned to talk alone with Kirika. Doesn't feel right to not bring Sabrina's Ojou to keep Kirika's Ojou company. :p

At any rate, I'm not certain at what time O&K tend to wake up, though I remember they were still asleep that time we did the maid thing.
Let's just pick up O&K and take them with us. If need be, we can keep their soul gems in our pocket to placate Homura later. Those two need to get out more, and only letting them out when there's some crisis we need their help with probably makes them feel used.

I'm pretty sure Homura and Sayaka would disagree with this.

They can deal with it. We're taking reasonable precautions while giving them humane treatment. If Sayaka tries to make an issue of it, we remind her that "justice" and "revenge" are not the same thing, and that our ultimate goal is to help all magical girls that can be helped, including Oriko and Kirika. For Homura, we gently remind her that we've already done this before, and we've trusted them with our backs in combat situations before, too.

This is both humane, safe, and well within our rights to do. Sayaka objected to doing it herself with a clone, not to one of us doing it in general. If we kowtow to Sayaka's hypocritical stance regarding O&K to such a ridiculous degree, not only are we essentially being completely subservient to her, we are also deliberately violating our own ideals regarding humane treatment of prisoners.

We just spoke to Sayaka and Homura about this subject last night and came to an agreement regarding increased autonomy for O&K and what precautions that should entail... and you want to immediately break said agreement? And you don't think that this might be detrimental to morale and unit cohesion?

Also, I will reiterate, three weeks of house arrest is not an unreasonably harsh punishment for arson. If they were not magical girls, they would be looking at something like a five year prison sentence.

We could schedule the Kures' "walk in the park", as it were, with us acting as a charepone. The thing is, in such a situation we can only reasonably ask Homura and Sayaka. While also reassuring them that no matter how much you ship them want to help them, you still haven't forgotten a talk you've had just a day before and you are absolutely keeping an eye on them.

Other than that, I don't really see a problem. Granted, Homumom and Blueberry won't like it, but they won't probably object to it too much.

Lolwut? Nothing I suggested breaks any agreement. We suggested taking O and K around under escort, like prisoners get yard time, and asked Sayaka if she could do that with a clone. She said she didn't want to be around them. She didn't say she was against the idea of escorted time outside itself. Homura didn't even object.

And they're not talking about three weeks of house arrest, they're talking about keeping them under house arrest indefinitely. And while you're on your high horse, I should remind you that we didn't even punish the team that actually killed innocent people, started multiple wars of aggression, extorted the shit out of Hiroko and Masami, used a cease fire and peace negotiations as a cover to ambush us, extorted the shit out of the University team, etc. Hell, we just became allies with a team whose members killed innocent people with blatantly reckless magic usage in a city in broad daylight.

Plus, while it was arson, it was done to save Sayaka's life, without doing lasting physical harm to anyone, which she could ensure because precognition.

The reason we're gonna meet O&K is precisely to tell them about moving somewhere else, where they'll be allowed to roam around freely to an extent.

Are you joking? We're moving them to a small apartment, where they'll still be under house arrest. What "freely move around" are you talking about?
Giving O&K freedom to move around was precisely one of the core ideas of the change we wanted make; we're gonna have to re-address it IIRC, since there was no 'yes' or 'no' clear answer on the topic, but this whole thing is about giving O&K more freedom, not about feeding Homura's paranoia. That's just a necessary side effect.

EDIT: Also, there's a benefit in getting O away from the place she found her dad's corpse.

Thoughts from this post:

On the other hand, that means you can only imagine Homura's face as she watches Madoka chew on Kyuubey heads.

Madoka: ... Homura why are you giggling?
Homura: No reason

Mami absconds to the bedroom

Absconds! such a great word like haberdashery or pronking

"I kinda want to try having you ribbon and hide one of my chibis," you say. "Just to test it."

*cue stargate theme*

Faint red dusts Mami's cheeks. "Ah... I already have that," she says. "It's how I make ribbons, ah, intangible?"

"Oooh," you say. "Brilliant. Should've expected that."

Mami: Tsk tsk Sabrina you need to think - think with portals!

... there is a pigeon perched on her hair, garnering her some odd looks. It doesn't even seem discomforted by vigorous waving.

Kyouko: Looks like someone is a bit... bird brained

(... while I have been assured it may be heresy, I have put strawberry jam in riceballs before. Because jelly doughnuts reference, because I could. But in this context... Well, joke-options for Kyubey often include nomming. Now featuring a squishy red-flavored center?)
...Huh. Didn't think of doing it that way. Personally, I did triangular jelly doughnuts, covered them in shredded coconut, and added a little bit of chocolate (with a lot of green food coloring) over the jelly-insertion-hole.
