Mami: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The musket shook in her hands, the slight clatter it made -or maybe that was her teeth shaking- the only sound she could hear-
"I'm the real one, I swear!" yelled Sabrina.
-over her own wildly beating heart.
"I'm the
good one," answered Sabrina, throwing Mami a quick smile, "thus-"
Why did they have the same smile? Mami couldn't stop herself from sniffing, couldn't help the way her eyes
stung... It would've been so much easier if one of them look
obviously evil, and wrong, and non-Sabrina-
ish...
"That's bull!" interrupted Sabrina, "you're the evil one, you attacked me first!" she pointed a finger in accusation.
Unbidden, her hands followed that pointing finger, her sights drawing on...
"Eh-eh-eh!" Sabrina raised her hands, eyes wide, "Mami calm down! She's lying!
She attacked
me, don't you remember?"
She hastly pointed away,
why, why did they act the same, she chanced a look at the other Sabrina, but she didn't look any happier at her double's mild panic,
if only one would do something out of place, something evil, somehow show they were the fake one...
"Agh!" shouted Sabrina in exasperation, "this is useless! We look the same, so-"
"-this won't do, no. Day of birth? March tw-"
"-enty eight."
Something tingled at the back of her mind, but it was quickly drowned out by a
shudder, she wanted to cry, could barely choke back her sobs and she was so pathetic, why couldn't she fix this?
"Colour scheme as it would've been
before? Blue-"
"-black-"
"-grey-"
"-and green!" Sabrina grudgingly nodded at her doppelganger, "You're clearly a good copy to know something like this."
Sabrina scoffed, "it's interesting how
you found out this much."
Why? She didn't understand what they were saying, but neither could she spot the real from the fake, "
I..." she
whimpered, "I-I-I..." she couldn't even hear herself over her weapon
madly shaking in her hands...
"Mami?" At once, both Sabrinas turned to her, concern clear in their voices.
She trembled at the sudden attention, she couldn't stand having those blue eyes seeing her like this, like she truly was, and now there were two... She stiffened, a small realization, maybe silly, but she held onto it with all she could...
One of them, a fake, a copy of her friend was calling her by her name like she deserved it-
Her hands shook open, the silver musket slipping through her fingers to clatter against the floor.
Before the confused stares of both Sabrina, Mami tried to smile as firmly as she could -brittle as glass- and slowly and shakily raised her arms-
She grunted as twin masses of Magical Girl crashed into her, two sets of arms trying to wrap themselves around her clumsily and slightly lifting her off the ground before -between mixed unintelligible whispered reassurances- both Sabrinas seemed to reach an agreement, settling Mami down and holding her in a double hug.
Mami took a deep breath and slowly let it go, feeling most of her worries leave her body alongside it. She allowed herself to
relax, tension oozing off her frame, letting herself melt into the warm embrace.
"I-" she started but spluttered, pausing to spit a strand of white hair, "I decided," she declared, holding both of the other girls tightly.
Sabrina and Sabrina stared at her questioningly.
Mami smiled in answer.
"You're
both the real one."
