--[Q] *Homura mentally takes notes on potential strategies for acquiring additional Madoka hugs*
---[Q] Sabrina reads Homura's thoughts.
----[Q] "You know Madoka's such a pushover, she basically can't say no, right?"
-----[Q] Homura: "..." 'How.'

:p

Though really, Homu's problem isn't not enough hugs, but that the hugs hurt after the inminent loss.

So, not much info aside from Sasa being from Kasamino. Maybe drop in on Koko and update her on our shipping plans ask if she knows of her?

Also I'd like to see if Homu holding a grief marble or a ring made out of grief will keep us in the time stop. It should. It would also go a long way to unrestrain our movements if we don't need to be tethered.

On the other hand, if Sabrina remains stopped and the grief evaporates like it does when out of range, that means it might be possible to puree witches without pulling them into the time stop with us. That's really something we should try out on a normal witch before Big W arrives, though, just to be sure.

It's sad but the first thought that occurs to me is that Homura is probably not going to like the idea on instinctive level. If we can tether our self to her in a way she can't remove then she can't drop us if we become a problem.

It's a measure of trust yes but we're not going to force anything on her. She doesn't have to wear the grief ring to keep us in timestop.

Well, while we're on Business Time, we may as well continue with Business Chat.

Things to talk about(in no particular order):

-Updating meta-knowledge.

Yeah, it's mostly been about O+K, but it's still providing clues, and it's confirmed some of the things Oriko's been saying.

-Our current rough plan for Walpurgisnacht (ZA WARUDO + IDKFA). Also potential backup plan in SUPER MECHA GUREN ZILLA LAGANN using the Grief siphoned off during the first plan.

She might have input, and it shows that we have been giving it thought.

-What would Oriko and Kirika have to do to prove that they're no longer a threat, anyways? Can't keep them locked up forever.

Just get her thinking about it, at least. Maybe Soul Girl can do unbreakable oaths or something? And if a hunch of mine is right, getting her into the "Not Threat" list is a key piece in saving her. Also kind of just want to get Homu thinking about ways conflicts like this can be resolved that don't involve bodybags and shallow graves.

-About the plans to tell Mami about... well, pretty much everything Sabrina. The problem is that some of it's going to be rather hard to talk about without intruding upon Homura's own secrets. You know that Homura doesn't want to say anything, but keeping secrets is harmful in the long run. Would a more limited release help? You have her back on this, and if she'd rather not talk about it herself you can do so in her stead. Failing that, can you at least make non-specific allusions?

Kind of just want to check.

Also have a longer-term goal of trying to get Homura to think about life after Walpurgisnacht, with perhaps a splash of indirect relationship advice tossed in. Her focus is understandable, but she's been at this so long she's going to be a complete mess after that's been taken care of.

Does Homura even know why Oriko went after Madoka in that timeline in the first place? This is a serious question, I haven't read Oriko Magica (Though I know the general plot), so I don't if Homura ever found out there, and I don't think I remember seeing Homura mention it here in this quest. If she doesn't know, it's probably not going to make everything magically better if she finds out, but it's probably going to help at least.

She warned us the first time we met to never let Homura know, but that she knows the loops are making Madoka's potential worse and Gretchen stronger.

So I think that means Homura doesn't know.

We tried to touch on it, but Homu wouldn't have any of it.

"Homura..." you say gently, reaching out and touching her lightly on the shoulder again. This time, she doesn't flinch away, though you can feel her muscles quiver, tensing for a moment before she forces herself to relax. "Do you remember the question you asked her just before you killed her the first time?"

"No," she says, still not looking at you.

"'Why did you start this battle?'" you quote. "'To protect my world.'" You smile, and pause, letting it sink in. "Right now, we're working towards the same goal, and sh-" You cut yourself off as Homura shakes her head.

"Enough," she says. "I... I can't convince you." She pauses, taking a ragged breath. "And I can't... I can't force you to help me."

That leads to the Potentialbomb, which leads to Homura witching the fuck out.

It's things like that quote that remind me that Homura needs loops to end badly.

I mean, I knew about that kind of time traveling torture from Steins Gate WAY before I heard of PMMM, and I'd already reserved a spot for it in 'things I would not wish unto my worst enemies'.

Surprsingly hard to find a video of this scene in particular

Mami seemed to have some questions that she didn't want to ask, but hopefully the metabomb this evening will help with that.
What will we actually do with Sasa when we find her? Rock her? Grind her to dust? Just look at her from a distance?

Well, following from this:

"I was wondering if you wanted to go hunt Sasa down right now?"

She frowns, considering that for a moment. "Now is fine," she agrees. "Do you have any ideas?"
I was thinking...

[Q] Grill her. Over a camp fire?
-[Q] We could burn Oriko's house and roast Sasa on it.

But that's not my only helpful insight!

"A-alright," Mami says. She tightens the hug a little, pulling away a moment later. "Alright, I'll... go back to the bench?"

"Mmm," you agree, standing and guiding her up. You smile as you walk her back over to the bench, opposite a frozen Madoka, Sayaka, and Hitomi. You can feel Homura following you. You pull Mami into a tight hug again. "I'll be with you in no time at all, yeah?"

"Yeah," Mami says, smiling weakly at you as she separates from the hug and settles back down on the bench. "Alright, I'm removing the ribbon now." She takes a deep breath and lets the ribbon fade, the bright colour leaching out of her as the timestop claims her.
Mami got benched.

:V

It might be nice to find out if we're susceptible to mind control from Sasa's totally pathetic version rather than being surprised by an actually dangerous person.

After that, interrogate her and go from there? Rocking her is an option, of course, but if she's not actually done anything then we'll just establish a working relationship or something? She could be useful for experimenting on live witches.

If she isn't a meguca, then we leave her alone. Maybe stick an upbeat note in her locker to try and alleviate some of her inferiority complex or something, but we mostly just focus our efforts to figure out WTF happened with Sayaka elsewhere.

If she is a meguca, then the !fun! begins. First, we examine her as thoroughly as possible without bringing her into timestop, with the assistance of grief constructs if necessary. If this isn't enough to determine whether or not she was involved, then we'll interrogate and then rock her.

First, we make anti-mind control constructs for ourselves, and a ready to go magic-impeding manacle system for Sasa. We set up a radio headset communication system between Homura and us. Then, Homura wires up a claymore or three covering Sasa and takes overwatch from a sniping position well out of Sasa's range. Then we revive Sasa and, as quickly as possible, restrain her and impede her magic. If we don't, Homura detonates the claymores, so even if Sasa overcomes our precautions, restraining her is still the best way of letting our 'friend' live.

Then Homura interrogates Sasa with us acting only as a mouthpiece, to avoid Master/Stranger influence getting in the way of the questioning. Once we've exhausted that approach, we rock her, and have Homura shove her body in her shield.
