If she doesn't listen now, I think we're done here for today.

Where does the assumption that Ono is underestimating witches come from though? Is it because she's using the grief seeds so fast?

I also don't know about the last two points of the vote. Although it is probably true telling her that she would have died, if she fought the witch will probbaly only make her angry again and nothing else.

For the last point maybe rephrase it. Tell her that strong emotions can produce grief in her soul gem. Telling her we're here to fix her problems will probably get her to engage bitchy mode again. SHe doesn't want us in her life right now and she probbaly won't like us snooping around even more than we already have.

Part of it has to do with how casually Megane dismissed Sayaka getting attacked by a witch. Leads me to question just how seriously she's taking witches.

Popping back in for a sec to say...

Megane's hostility is completely justified; we FUCKING BROKE INTO HER HOUSE! Yea, we thought it was a life and death situation so it was justifiable before, but as soon as we saw that it wasn't a life and death situation, we should of left, not rifled through her personal stuff and tried to confront her.
She was in the right to attack us, and we are in the wrong for insisting to be here and freaking tying her up!

I am actually legitimately angry and disgusted with how you (not "we", I had no part in this) have handled this.

I say we need to profusely apologize for what we did wrong, and fucking leave.

EDIT: When I said " life or death" situation, I meant of the immediate kind. Megane's situation, while bad, was not in an immediate life or death state, thus, not under the "emergency clause" for acceptable reasons to violate private property.

You... aren't looking at this the right way. She is in a life-or-death situation here; what part of "She's using as magic in a day as an active Meguca team does in a week" do you not understand? Something had to be done, or she'd kill herself trying to kill enough Witches to sustain that much magic usage.

Considering the high probability that if we had just left she'd have been dead/witched before we got a chance to talk to her again...

Yes, breaking into her house like this is a bad thing, and she does have a legitimate right to be angry. But the alternative was worse.

By the way. I'm making ghost edits here and there while I have time at work. Trying to come off less accusatory and more, instructorish.

Work in progress.

Progress!

I'm willing to settle for life support here. Just go with the Wulfenbach-style of governance: "Don't make me come over there". Keep your soul gem clean. Don't attack people.

She can then go do her own thing. Barring some major event, I doubt we'll be able to recruit her for Team Mitakihara.

I sort of assumed that she thought that we were lying or making up some kind of excuse. Also, as small nitpick of the vote, her magic might not be always on so much as she's just constantly using it multiple times throughout the day. Or her life's just been terrible in general lately.

Actually, wouldn't we be able to tell if she was constantly using her magic? We would notice if she was getting corrupted faster than the average rate with our grief sensing wouldn't we?

Exactly how certain were we of that though? That she wouldn't make it through the night or morning, and that this couldn't wait? And was breaking into her house truly necessary in order to make sure she stayed alive? Those doubts combined with the fact that I sort of misjudged her and screwed up the initial diplomacy make me feel pretty terrible about how this all ended up.

This is probably very obvious by now, but I still feel like I should point out that if we end up explaining things wrong, she might just disregard what we say out of spite or anger. She does seem to have her pride.

Technically, we already have.

Not really, no. She doesn't want anything to do with us, and kind of justifiably so. And I doubt anything we say right now would really change that. Maybe much later.

Found another one!

Well, nominally, she's on the team. It's what we agreed on, and she probably cares about having made an agreement, at least a little.
"I would like to join your group, if that's acceptable?" the girl asks.

"Of course," Mami says, before glancing quickly at you, eyes questioning. You tilt your head fractionally at her. Your call.

Mami continues smoothly. "We're currently not doing anything, but if you're ever in need of help, or hunting a Witch, let us know, and if we can, we'll come and help. Additionally, Sabrina can cleanse your Soul Gem, if you're ever in need."

"I see," the girl says, gaze flicking to you. You hold her eyes for a moment, trying to look nonthreatening.

"Additionally," you say, reaching into your pocket and pulling out Gwen's Grief Seed. You check it mentally -seems like it was used once?- and absently wipe it clean with an effort of will, Grief billowing away. Not too much in there, so that's fine.

Megane watches the process curiously, only flinching slightly at the weak sensation of Witch given off by the Grief. Her brow furrows as you hold the Grief Seed out to her.

"You may have this,"
If she does, we probably need to use that. We offered cleansing and a Grief Seed as part of her joining the team, so we can probably force her to let us cleanse her Soul Gem and keep checking that she's always got a Grief Seed that way.

Her soul gem was filling up to a quarter. She didn't tell us.

So far Ono has a worse track record for keeping herself alive than a grief-spiraling Sayaka- who managed to last about a week in canon. Let that sink in for a second.

Yeah, no, I don't regret showing up and cleansing her. We may have botched social after that, but we needed to check up and her and it's a good thing we did so before things could get really bad...and we shouldn't leave until we're sure Ono is in fact not going to get herself killed the moment we leave her alone.

She used up the seed. The WHOLE seed. In about a day. That is not safe, and never mind the seed that's been lost because of it.

Hmm... random thought: Is it possible that something more is going on we dont know about, that she does not want us to know about?

The situation seems wrong on multiple levels, adn we cant figure it out.

Is it possible that tehres another MG involved?

Can we call oriko? i have the feeling somethings seriously off here.

We...actually do need to doublecheck with Oriko (and apologize to Homura as we do it).

And yes, that seems likely. Someone- probably Kyubey but maybe not- got to Ono and poisoned her against us, Ono's own personal issues and wish are making problems...
