I'd be objecting to this line greatly if it weren't for the "mostly" part. She has the collective mind of SV in her, yes.

Now, I'm just slightly objecting to it.;)
From time to time, we get unusual ideas due to "brain damage", like questioning Homura's choice of home decor... or wanting to find out the secret to Mami's drills... or, godforbid, the secret to Homura's silky hair.

That is exactly why I said "mostly", yes. :p

What? We are practically a paragon of sanity compared to all the rest.

We haven't had a mental breakdown, expressed a complete lack of self-preservation, or are seething in self-hatred or disgust...

...

...yet.
Well, we're making excellent progress on "lack of self-preservation" considering we're currently more likely to be Mami'd than Mami.

Well, if you think about it, we have at least ten, fifteen different personalities running around? Mental trauma is much easier to deal with when you can distribute it among the voices in your head! Let's see them drive us insane now!

[X] It fosters trust, and they would be more effective if everyone got along
[X] There will be life after walpurgisnacht if we succeed, you know
[X] It would make Madoka happy, she seems worried for you
[X] It would also make it easier to protect her if you were in closer proximity to her

Well... you can't exactly turn an insane man into something crazy. Unless it's one of those "negative multiplied by negative equals positive" things.:D

[x]Just think about it, okay? You watched over Madoka as her friend before- there's no reason why you couldn't do it again, and it'd make her happy as well as make it easier to protect her.
[x]If they get to know you better, they'll be more likely to trust you about things like Kyubey, and the Incubator won't be able to go behind your back as much.
[X] There will be life after Walpurgisnacht if we succeed, you know.

Edit: Vote Change.

We should also emphasize that becoming so detached from everyone and everything else just makes it vastly harder to understand, predict, and help them. For example, it'd be much easier to give Mami life-saving advice if she thought of you as a friend and trusted you, rather than thought of you as a mysterious enemy. Or that it'd be much easier to keep Madoka from contracting if she didn't feel like she was on the verge of losing her friends to despair or witches (Sayaka, Mami). Mami would be much less inclined to encourage Madoka and Sayaka to contract if she weren't so lonely and depressed. Sayaka would be less inclined to contract if Mami were alive and doing alright, already working alongside you, with the gentle-but-firm advice that Sayaka not contract, because she could help people much more by not needlessly throwing her life and future away. You're working with people--unstable, vulnerable people that really benefit from friendship and good advice from people who already know about the problems they're so hesitant to tell anyone of. Charisma and compassion are equally important tools. If you focus only on ensuring Madoka's physical safety in the immediate future, then chances are one of the many factors outside that narrow focus is going to screw up your plans at a really bad time, and you won't even see it coming. You know why Madoka is inclined to contract in most loops; the more friends she loses, or the more friends she feels are slipping away with her powerless to help, the more likely she will be to contract no matter what you say.

Parsing SaltyWaffles text wall into something a little more readable. Also I really think the wording of "Just think about it" means that should be at the end of the conversation rather than the beginning. Probably also not worthwhile talking about after Walpurgisnight yet.

[x]If they get to know you better, they'll be more likely to trust you about things like Kyubey, and the Incubator won't be able to go behind your back as much.
-[x]If they think of you as a friend they'll take your advice more, and with you as a friend and ally Mami won't feel as lonely and will be less likely to encourage others to contract to fulfill her own issues.
-[x]If Mami is doing better Sayaka may never contract, and Madoka will feel less need to help them and be less likely to contract because she's worried about losing her friends.
-[x]Madoka contracts because she worries about her friends. By focusing on only her physical safety you can protect her from others, but without removing the underlying causes she's likely to eventually form a contract on her own when something outside your plan goes wrong. By helping her friends you eliminate her reason for contracting.
-[x]Charisma and compassion can solve underlying issues which a bullet could not.
[x]You deserve a little happiness. It might help you remember what you're fighting for, morale is an important force.
[x]Just think about it, okay? You watched over Madoka as her friend before- there's no reason why you couldn't do it again, and it'd make her happy as well as make it easier to protect her.

[x]Shrug. We don't want this to be an interrogation, and pushing her too fast might backfire.

holy shit I actually managed to get this thing to work

Nope, she would just witch out after a single powerful attack.

In other words, it's a terrible, terrible idea. So, I would really not be surprised if someone here were to suggest it. :p
That's because of the grief corruption cost of the attack Madoka thinks is needed to defeat Walpurgis(and she naturally highballs it because damn that thing is scary).

Lol. I guess from now on ill have to make the propet vote instead of being lazy during bandwagon.

There.

Nah, I'm pretty sure your vote counted ES. It just shows as seperate since your vote was in a post before the one you voted for.
