Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Bruce really is the perfect casting choice for Paul Atreides, Muad'dib, the Desert Mouse. Plus his life and achievements certainly make it believable he's the Kwisatz Haderach.

Paul is thematically, and in character, a character desitned to fail, as the jihad occurs despite him trying all he can to avert it, his son dies, he marries the woman he does not love, and he became the Kwisatz Haderach out of deseration, which also made it sothat he could no longer hope for a future that did not have the Jihad.

No, Bruce is not Paul, nor is he the Kwisatz haderach, especially since the latter is supposed to come to be due to Eugenics.

So I was reading the Basil of Baker Street thing, and I'm wondering, when did we start working on Tron?

Edit: I'm also noticing the turn 88 results are turn 87 results.

[X]Game Shows: You want to go on a Game show, you are sure that Lucille might get you in on one of them. DC: 40 rolled: D100 => 100

BRuh, I swear it's always when these constant misses get placed on the autopass turn that they get a nat 100, lmao. Well at least Bruce had a good time and the people continue to love him for his image. Probably will make an Omake of Bruce and Carrie on a game show to spread the fun.

I did a little bit of... retconing for comedy sake.

Eh, I'd like to believe that Bruce simply had a very long and tiring day of pre-production, probably going through all the casting and he was so tired that he simply forgot his cat was pregnant and near her due date, and Ginger gave birth that day.

Well at least people will be lining up to adopt one of the kittens.

Too bad I don't think we ever figured out how Ginger got pregnant when there's no male cats in the compound.

We actually moved back to our house in October and Ginger got pregnant in April. So she probably mated with one of the neighborhood cats when she was walking out and about.

As for kitten adoption, hmmm...well the previous update did say each of the kids wanted a kitten for themselves. I don't know if Bruce and Carrie will follow through but that's half the litter. One for Debbie to keep her company. One for Cat (finally Cat has a cat) and her family. Maybe we can give one to Gavin or to the Lucas family. If not them then the Hamills or Brandon and Shanon. Though they've definitely got enough room for all six kitties.

Most importantly, I want to make sure these kittens end up in happy homes with friends and family.

Overmind is gunning hard for Bruce to be Duncan Idaho and I can definitely see it. At the very least, Duncan's death here will be a real "Oh Shit" moment that will greatly enhance audience stakes as this is the first time Bruce has acted someone whose died so that's really going to get a hell of a reaction and reinforce the Harkonen threat.

Spent so much time trying to complete Part 3 of Doomsday Clock, ended up having to bit the bullet and not make it as thorough of a summary as I wanted to, only to then find realize after I finished that with the way I set up Part 2, Part 3 needs to be about Thunderbolt and not Peacemaker😭
I guess it's back to the grind.

...I don't know what to think.

On the one hand, I will admit Kojima is a good creator and can bring about great things.

On the other hand...he's Kojima.

Yeah...not to sure what this is about.

In the meantime...
[]Take a Leap of Faith (He took a leap of faith and was rewarded)
I will for this option. I just think the guy deserves a break.

Edit: Ninja'd by the GM.

I have always belived that when he has set limits, he's amazing within those limits because he gets very creative how to circumvent those limits...

Otherwise... it's just hit or miss on what he actually does and how well he succeds.

*Meanwhile in the 90s*

Kojima: So I can't make an Evangelion in Space (Zones of the Ender) while on Break from Metal Gear.

Bruce: I'm not saying you can't do it, you just have to make it make sense.

Kojima: What about the THEMES O'Brien-SAN!

Bruce: If the Story doesn't make sense the Themes are useless.

Kojima: But Anno's work is batshit insane story wise and he's got the best themes.

Bruce: Yeah but his excuse is that he ran out of money...(Witch I find to be insane, but the quality speaks for itself) You don't...now make your lore consistent or I will banish you to...

Kojima:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Alright then, we just have to become the Sega/Sony Hybrid to become competition to Nintendo in order to sway him to our side.

So, since I selected leap of faith, does that mean we got Bomberman to do in the future?

Also, quick question, can we try and bring Cyborg 009 to the US? despite the animation not using the new method that we implemented (I think, did we buy them on time?) it would be a good idea to introduce Japan's first "Superhero Team" as it were.

This is golden and it makes so much sense!

Alright then, so when 1983 hits we better be ready to take advantage and buy/ hire as many of the companies and workers that have experience so they may become the core of our new videogame division. Furthermore, we need to innovate (which should be easy for us thanks to our technological advance) but if we really want to take on the American market and compete with Nintendo, then we need to mkae sure we can make the small chips so that we can create an entertainment system (aka videogame console) that is not as bulky as the Atari, and can be as powerful as the NES at the beginning.

Yeah, this is going to be a tall order.

Bruce *See's the Fall of the American Video Game Market*

Steve: Don't give me that look.

Bruce: YOU DID THIS!

Steve: I did not...Atari did...I just gave them the Licence.

Bruce: We were hammering up Lucus ARTS!

Steve: And it wouldn't have been made fast enough for the tie in...George said so, and I outsorced.

Bruce: This is why...Merchendicing is George's department.

Say guys can't we just buy Atari when the crash happens so we can rebrand them into our company
I would rather just buy whoever still has skill rather than the whole company. by that point i would not be surprised if they had only the leftovers from those that jumped ship to better opportunities.

Buying their game library would also be a good opportunity for us.

What was their game library at the time ?,i was under the impresion that most of it was created and owned by third party developer and most of what atari did themselve and thus owned was 50 shades of pong
If this wiki page is correct they had a few games that seem ok. Nothing from a very cursory glance but some of it seems interesting.

Fun fact they apparently released a star wars game in 1983

Well, they at least made sure to develop Yars Revenge and Space Invaders, but most of their library is crap. We should be sure to only buy what is good, and just leave the scraps.

Yeah, that game is not going to them this time around.

Hey now lets not be hasty. If we can get them to throw in some of the scraps for free we'll take them too. Maybe put them in a retro game bundle forty years from now. :lol2:
Yeah, that game is not going to them this time around.
I wouldn't be immediately opposed to it. But I don't know the questors plans for the videogame market. If we can come up with one in a similar time frame then yeah lets not let them do it. But it seems like a pretty good game(for it's time) and as long as we aren't signing some exclusivity contract it's just us getting a cut of their profits for letting them use the Star Wars name.
