Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

[]Batmobile on the Freeway: You're going to drive the Batmobile on a freeway, against traffic. You have professionals working on it, and you're going to be able to not be in it… but it's still going to be incredibly dangerous, and require lots of planning.

[]100 Man Melee: So you decide that Batman, in all his glory, needs to storm a nightclub, alone, and fight everyone who attacks him in there. You think it's great to show off the physicality of Batman.

[]Do Both: You are going to be insane and try to plan and do both.

Wow, both of these are pretty ambitious and are likely to be a defining part of 80s action films similar to how John Wick defined the modern action genre. I'm unsure of which one to do, kind of want to do both but I don't want to hurt Bruce in the process or overstrain him.

[]Undercover: A Brian Depalma film, you wanna see how your buddy is doing and how good the film is?

Is Pacific Rim also releasing this turn or is that coming later?

"Everyone wants to have you star in the film." Martin said. "Except Steve, he's got Indiana Jones and that Alien thing he wants to do."

Cool, looks like ET is still on set to be made. Considering it was the highest grossing film for a while in OTL and beat Star Wars, one can only imagine how well it will do in this billion dollar film era.

Also considerring that ET will be owned by Lucasfilms here, ET mentioning home when he points to the kid in the Yoda costume will likely have fans go insane as they will now believe that ET is canonically within the Star Wars universe. Looks like the Pixar theory just became the Lucasfilms theory.

Speaking of Halloween, how popular are Bruce's characters on the night?

[]The Projects of the Directors: You are going to humor the Directors and their projects.
-[]Write in who you want to humor (You will find out what film they want to work on, and have the choice to accept or not)
I say we try speaking with Francis first. Perhaps he's ready for Dune and we can finally begin production there. Plus, I've been wanting for us to play Duncan Idaho for ages now.

Oh boy. While I would love to do a film, the problem is that I can see Bruce being fatigued from jumping into something right after filming Batman and we are already a bit swamped this year. We're producer of Kung Fu Kid, Ron Howard may want to call us in for his film, we need to make Killer Queen by the end of the year, and Sylvester Stallone already showed interest for us filming Rocky.

I'm not necessarily certain we need to do the Directors Projects action this turn since we're already busy with Batman. If not, I guess we can try to do Rocky III to knock it out of the way. Since Bruce isn't the director or producer, and not even the main character like in his past films, it should hopefully only take a single action.

Magoose, how long would our involvement with Rocky III be?

Anyone else have other ideas? I'm not really a fan of Bruce doing Dune since that is going to be extremely time intensive, even as Duncan Idaho, meaning we'll spend months in Tunisia, and then we got to go back next year for Return, leaving us little room to do other stuff.

Also, how can we expand the production que of Dreamworks? By hiring more directors?

Is Pacific Rim also releasing this turn or is that coming later?
Let me look at the list.

I looked and this is needed to be added.
Speaking of Halloween, how popular are Bruce's characters on the night?
Han Solo is the classic, Conan is pretty big, and Rader shows up among the older people.

Conan is really popular with the guys at the gym seeing how Bruce is big and jacked.
Magoose, how long would our involvement with Rocky III be?
1 turn, most likely next turn.
Also, how can we expand the production que of Dreamworks? By hiring more directors?
two is the max for all animated films right now until Pixar gets off the ground, and spoilers.

I think the Batmobile scene would work for the best, as it fits better than having him fight one hundred men at once. It just seems to close to the scene where Neo fights 100 Agents Smith in Matrix: Reloaded.

I think it's possible. Duncan Idaho has small scenes in the book, and even if they are expsnded in the film they still will have him appear only in Part 1, leaving Part 2 to Francis discretion.

Besides, him being Idaho leads to him reprising the character for the rest of the adaptations, as he makes appearanes in all 6 books of the franchise.

[]A Charitable Heart: You want to invest your newfound wealth. Maybe even save some lives while you are at it. (Linetail what you wish to invest in below this action, and the amount of money you want to donate in)

Reading that timeline story in which Jim Henson practically took over Disney, a certain idea has made it obvious at what we're forgetting..

-[] The Lucasfilms Child Actors' Protection Investment: It is clear that, while Hollywood has started to change its tune to that of Lucasfilms, there are still practices afoot that is still practiced. This cannot go on! Introducing an investment plan that would be targeted towards Psychological aid and tutors are given to child actors and to protect them from abuse, whether that be at home or from work. If parents, their agents, and even the producers/directors cannot provide them the stability, the rock they need as they're growing, we can at least put in the effort with great drive to make sure that child actors are receiving the help they need.

I support this wholeheartedly, not only because it's a net good, but also because I'd really hate to see Judith Barsi die like OTL.

@Magoose Speaking of, what's the state of our finances so we know how much money we can play with for investments and charity?

Also speaking of Jim, I'm planning for one of my actions to have Bruce appear in the Muppet Show. The show is ending in March unless Jim managed to extend it thanks to butterflies, and I want Bruce and Carrie to appear in the show as a gift for Mary.

We can take some inspiration from Tom Yun Goong, Tony Ja, where he storms an illegal club and proceed to beat every guard there while also using some good hiding spot for ambush.

Let me find the video and link it here.

Is say we do both scenes, we may need to shuffle the schedule around to ensure Bruce's health, but we can't pass up the opportunity to define hero movies going forward.

Movie Pitch: The Existentialist
Let's just say..reading the apocrypha that I wasn't happy with the way how the cast sections are handled, for we're basically placing notions that which actors should be this or that, without them actually wanting to be that or auditioning. (Not to mention, I'd say they were used for Looks rather than Acting/Chemistry compatibility.) | The lads are free to do what they want, I'm simply pointing it out since I've got tired of it and deciding to not to that approach for pitches.

Movie Pitch:
The Existentialist

Genre:
Post-Success Story
Sub-Genre: Self-Discovery, Existentialism, Nostalgia, Dark-Light
Format: Full-Length Movie
Bio:
A different take on the classic success stories common in Hollywood, Books, and other forms of media. The idea is founded on the aftermath, provoking the thought that has been neglected in favour of the achievement itself: "What Comes Next?". This specific story follows a man that reached the summit of his goals, his wish, the culmination of his great journey, and the great challenge in trying to keep everything together while it deteriorates. A personal discovery that touches on the themes of Philosophy, such as Existentialism vs Nihilism. Battles that aren't entirely from scavengers trying to take a bite at his success, but personal ones that finally crawl up to him from his childhood, the journey he took to reach the summit, and even the ones where he's on the summit.

The film additionally utilises the Proustian Moments method that brings the Main Character to remember his past, his youth – It tells of two stories: The Man that built the Mountain (The Memory scenes), and The Man on it (The rest of the film). By the end of the film, the Main Character is filled with a sense of loneliness, no matter how he should feel enthusiastic, a hidden misery for the simple times, but he sees the light at the end of the tunnel, the hope that perhaps one day he can be whole.

This film can be described as a critique to the "Rags to Riches" and other like-minded movies and stories, for not taking into account the personal mind struggles of success during and after the journey – the latter of which is where The Existentialist takes place in.

The Existentialist – A man with no name, but instead has multiple nicknames with a clear reference to him. This decision was made as a symbolic gesture that, to others, the nickname matters, not the actual real person with a name on the inside. He has little to no hobbies, with his Proustian Moments showcasing his real self of a lost boy that was losing himself in an empty land. He has conflicting timetables to not be able to spend time with family, whom he ultimately lost over the years. What he gains by the end of the film, is this sense of loneliness, however his reconnection with his past allows him to hope that – one day, he'll be whole.

N/A: Not going to be popular with Hollywood, as usual, however more than the other works as it basically pokes at their entire existence and their success-based movies and makes the audience begin thinking more on usual on the Price of Success, The Battles from within and without, etc.

I'd be happy with suggestions, feedback on the idea. :D

[X] Plan Bruce Wick
-[X]Do Both: You are going to be insane and try to plan and do both.
-[X]Pacific Rim: Holy Hell, this Robot show is awesome!
-[X]Undercover: A Brian Depalma film, you wanna see how your buddy is doing and how good the film is?

-[X]The New Blood: So... Who wants to work for Lucasfilms? DC:???
--[X]Producer
-[X]Investing in the Future: You want to Spend some of that money you made into the company and make the whole thing better DC: ??? (Linetail what you want to invest in, and how much money you want to invest in it)
--[X] So there's a guy named John Hughes trying to pitch a movie about a family vacation. Lucasfilms hasn't done a proper road trip before, sounds like it could be fun. From the warchest, offer Hughes $1 million and 1.5% of the film's gross.
-[X]Don't Lose Your Way: You and Carrie both look at each other and feel close. "When was the last time we made a movie together that was just for us?" You asked.
-[X]The Twins Are Learning from Mary: You don't know why, or how… but the two twins have become terrors. And Mary is egging them on.
-[X]A Well-Known Fan: So some really famous person is a fan of yours. Maybe you'll learn who they actually are. DC???
-[X]Train Brandon: Brandon smiled. "Well…You wanna talk Bruce?" DC: 40
-[X]Networking: Well time to start finding out who might actually be interested in meeting you. (Write-in what you want to try and network with)
--[X] Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory. There's an interesting film making the distribution circuit around town, an experimental movie where the entire plot of the film is just two friends having a conversation at dinner. You want to see what it's about and if there's potential for a Lucasfilms distribution.
-[X]Networking: Well time to start finding out who might actually be interested in meeting you. (Write-in what you want to try and network with)
--[X] George Romero and Stephen King: Apparently the masters of horror working on a new film consisting of a series of original horror stories written by King as a tribute to horror comics. You had great success with Dawn of the Dead and King really likes Lucasfilms, why don't you arrange for the funding and distribution of this project.
-[X] Do auditions(Movies and TV Shows): You are going to go to some of the casting calls that are in the place where you can find work in. DC: 20(Possibility of only getting a commercial or TV show job, or extra work in a low-budget film)
--[X] Ask Jim if you and Carrie can guest star in an episode of The Muppet Show. The show is in its final season, and you really want to be in a episode for Mary so she can see her parents in her favorite show with Kermit and friends.
-[X] Call your parents: You need to call mom and dad, and see how they are doing. DC: 10 (You call your parents and see what they are doing)

Bruce has the skills and is already a legendary director. Let's go for both and make some of the most memorable action cinema period.

Release Pacific Rim and Undercover, see its awesomeness.

For who to reach out, I want to fulfill our promise to Sylvester Stallone and see if we can be in Rocky III. He's gonna be making it soon, and either we'll have a fun cameo as ourselves fighting Rocky, replacing the Hulk Hogan fight in the beginning, or we play Clubber Lang. Either way, some good stuff.

Find the new blood for directors and producers to expand our output.

Apparently John Hughes is shopping National Lampoon's Vacation and it was made by Warner Bros, so we are totally in the clear to make it. If we do fail the action Magoose can the movie go to Disney? Apparently Walley World was meant to be Disney World and I can see Roy and Ron being into the movie.

Family bonding time with Carrie, gosling fluff and training Brandon.

To try and supplement our film catalog which may be barren in 1982, I would like to distribute My Dinner with Andre as I think it would be a welcom part of the lucasfilms lineup. Also, Romero and King are working on a horror movie together and both guys like us so why not.

Guest star in the Muppets for Mary because it's ending soon and I want Bruce to do this for her so it can be somthing Mary cherishes and make her the happiest girl in the world. Lastly, because we're a bit barren on actions, call mom and dad and get more family fluff.

Bruce: Wait i've seen this movie before!?

[]Carrie Starts Writing Again (Carrie begins writing a script)
[]I have So Many Questions (Bruce is confused)
[]Does Bruce have a biography (Someone made an unauthorized biography.)
Bruce has the skills and is already a legendary director. Let's go for both and make some of the most memorable action cinema period.
INB4 Bruce success, but he gets injured along the way.

So just to be clear, do people want to do just one of the action scenes for Batman instead of both? Because I can totally switch it out for just one, both options being pretty good, especially in the name of Bruce's health.
