Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Everyone: Focused on creating these post-Trilogies Shows and Movies as if they're sending them on Lucas+

Lucas: "Nah, Hiatus Time..come back in 2 Decades!"

I think we should focus on Non-Star Wars bits for a while (don't want Bruce to be only known as Han Solo, and nothing else.)

I think we should focus on Non-Star Wars bits for a while (don't want Bruce to be only known as Han Solo, and nothing else.)

Bruce is not gonna be known just as Han Solo. He's also Batman, which has just as much equal cultural weight, Conan, John Milner, Radar, Rex Kramer. Sure Han Solo will be first when comes to mind but it's not gonna be last and we're set to make more iconic stuff this decade.

If anything I'm more worried about Carrie. Mark at least has Amuro Ray and I presume he got some decent leading roles off-screen. Carrie literally has only Some Nights and Star Wars. Though at least for her, she's also the Lakers owner and is a billionaire with a happy family, so she's probably content personally.

I don't think we need to do any more movies persay for the rest of the decade for Star Wars, but shows, books and RPGs are at least a start.

Legends all the way, the immediate collapse of the Empire in Canon is one of the stupidest things about Disney lore which was only possible through the moronic Operation Cinder. Legends was far more natural with how killing Palpatine didn't instantly win the Rebellion the galaxy and they had to earn the New Republic's right to govern through a slow and methodical liberation to the Core.
Sadly Operation Cinder makes a sad amount of sense given the character of Palpatine. I mean, he IS the type whom I could see go "If I can't have it NO ONE WILL". I mean, Palpatine was set to completely dismantle the systems like the senate in favor for his own almost fuedalistic military governor system. The biggest issue with the disneyverse, is many other details that exist and don't make sense. And honestly with all the leadership and many of the best and brightest officers dead I could see them having difficulty staying united, as even in Legends the ISB needed to go full secret politepolice to keep some vague sense of unity. As far as not having the New Republic steamroll the struggling empire? It could simply be them having became too successful and the internal factions start creating internal problems as they try and push the new organization in directions they want.

There is a reason I suggested something closer to 3 kingdoms as a sort of 3rd option, cause well. The lore we have access to gives quite a lot of parallels between Palpatine's rule and the standard dictator playbook of keeping possible rivals too weak and busy duking out with each other to actually take a swing at the top dog, a system that would just fall apart in infighting once the position is empty. And the Rebel Alliance itself isn't exactly a solidly united force behind one particular ideology, and without the monolyth of the empire forcing them to work together or die separately, the big question dominating the factions would be what would the new system be? With there likely being multiple groups with their own ideas whom may even come to blows against each other.

We also need to keep in mind, lore wise in setting, all there is, is wat is shown in the movies. And also, without the monolith of an Empire, how are they going to keep the ruinously costly Star Destroyers 100% operational? :V

Carrie herself isn't really interested in getting more famous roles anymore, as she is content with being a mom and a very wealthy woman... as well as being well respected by LA for the Lakers being successful.

And at least at this time, Carrie really dosent care for doing many films without Bruce. So... there is that.

Well, George didn't think that he could make the Sequels and prequels, and thought the technology of the films was not there to create it, and took almost 20 years for that to be good, also he just told his story and wanted to do otherthings.

He also had a lot of personal problems around the time and was working on Indiana Jones.

Here, he has all his friends and buddies with him, who pretty much know that its star Wars that pays the bills, and all are prettty much doing their own thing.

And the fact that technology for filmmaking is going faster then it was OTL, because he has the money, the time and the resources to actually... you know create that stuff.

Hell, he still has Pixar. He still has everything... and above all else, he has a balance that took him a long time to gain, and he's afraid if he goes straight to another Star Wars trilogy, he'll be... losing something.

I'd think it's because:

- It's Obvious Kaiser Chris' and other major powers of decisions/vision in the quest would get the most votes + Many agrees with it and since it's the only vote that no one is contesting, they feel safe enough to not bother.

- Some incidents where some of the Major players brownbeats each other into submission.

- Intimidated at how large the Omakes are + the Attention to Detail in them (like say, create entire omakes based on how the Script should go, etc.)

- And reasons I do not know.

Maybe it's because, unlike other times, there was not that much disagreement over the plan. Usually there is some who want to change it, add or remove something, but this time the only disagreement was about whether we should do 1 or 2 dangerous scenes for the movie.

I think this sums it up. If the plan is solid with no major faults then there is no point in making another plan, so voting wouldn't be really important. Give us a business vote and this thread will collapse in civil war.

"You fool! We should demand 22.5% of the stock, not 22.2%!"

"No, 22.2% is clearly the superior option here!"

"You're both wrong! It should 22.6!"

"You madman!"

-[X]Do Both: You are going to be insane and try to plan and do both.

The Hundred Man Melee:D100 => 98+60=158

You honestly didn't really know what to do except tell your camera crew to gather their camera and prepare for the most pulse-pounding action scene they will ever see in their lives.

But that was the order for the crew. You begged Alan to give you three extra shooting days to plan and execute your little mad stunt. And Alan, being smart, accepted, and you looked towards many different people of shapes sizes, and other stuff, and put them through an incredible stunt plan. Every single member of the stunt team, all professionals thank god, was coming to you with great tenacity.

It was up a two-story building, the set for the night club, and it would follow you kicking the snot out of it… and you getting more and more tired as you continue through it.

And you were sure that it was going to be the most exhausting feat of stunt work you would ever do.

And everyone knew it, because they wanted to show two things. One, you did all your stunts, and did them well.

Two, Batman was just a man, driven by incredible willpower, to seek justice for Gotham.
--------------

On the third day, you had it shot, and you only had one really good shot at it. Because if you didn't you would have to wait till tomorrow.

And you nailed it.

It was… the most challenging thing you ever did, but the rewards were worth it.

And you really were sore.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Batmobile on the Highway:D100 => 91+60=151

Well, at least you weren't in the car. Beverly Hills PD, LAPD… California Highway Patrol.

Oh lord the Paperwork that you had to do was incredible and insane, but hey, there was going alright, but this was going to be awesome.

And you weren't in the car this time, you were behind a camera and a truck and you were just going to watch the incredible teamwork.

And oh boy was it great, the layer of destruction that you caused, those air cannons were coming in looking like a funny investment, and it was just… well it caused some unintentional comedy moments with one of the cars just stopping without any warning.

Well, you were going to be hard-pressed to find anything like that in any film.
----------------------------------------------------

Reward: Your stunts went off without any sort of hitch.

Film Quality increased by a significant margin.
--------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Pacific Rim: Holy Hell, this Robot show is awesome! Rolled:D100 + 20 => 91

Well, Gundam is going to have some competition.

Also, holly hell those monster designs.

You hope you inspired someone for that.

(Continued in Pacific Rim)
-------------------------------------------------

-[X]Undercover: A Brian Depalma film, you wanna see how your buddy is doing and how good the film is? Rolled: D100 + 20 => 28

Well it seems that Brian was bound ot get less praise eventually. But oof… you think the magic of the wondrous Lucasfilms run is beginning to wear off.

Continued in: Undercover
-------

-[X]The Projects of the Directors: You are going to humor the Directors and their projects.
--[X]Sylvester Stallone Rolled:D100 => 62

Sly was smiling at you being in the room. "Got you something simple, something that will be nice and fun."

"Don't tell me you made me a main character, I just fought a hundred people." You said.

Sly then raises an eyebrow. "Uh."

"On batman." You swore as you lay down on the couch.

"Oh, forgot about that." He said. "Thankfully, it's just something quick, less than two days. You're going to be a cameo. For a charity match."

"Alright, do I beat you?" You smiled.

"No." he said with a smile.

"Alright, when is it."

"March." He said.

"Yay?" You groaned in pain.

Reward: You are going to cameo with Sly in Rocky Three, during the charity match.
------------------------------------------------------------------
-[X]The New Blood: So... Who wants to work for Lucasfilms? DC:???
--[X]Director Rolled:D100 => 38
--[X]Producer Rolled:D100 => 34

You know when you look at how you do it, Mike said that… you needed to do a better job and attract attention.

You don't know what he means about that.

Failure.
---------------------------------------------
-[X]Investing in the Future: You want to Spend some of that money you made into the company and make the whole thing better DC: ??? (Linetail what you want to invest in, and how much money you want to invest in it)
--[X] So there's a guy named John Hughes trying to pitch a movie about a family vacation. Lucasfilms hasn't done a proper road trip before, sounds like it could be fun. From the warchest, offer Hughes $1 million and 1.5% of the film's gross. Rolled: D100 => 86

John had taken your offer and was absolutely ecstatic.

Reward: You have funded Johns's film, and he is coming to Lucasfilms with his new film. Something called Breakfast Club or something like that.
----------------------------------------------------

-[X]Don't Lose Your Way: You and Carrie both look at each other and feel close. "When was the last time we made a movie together that was just for us?" You asked. Rolled:D100 => 58+30=88

Carrie and you sat down in bed, and both looked at each other, feeling each other. "When was the last time we made a movie together that was just for us?"

Carrie almost bellied up laughter. "No. We're not doing this."

"Oh come on." You smiled. "Humor me."

Carrie laughed. "You want to work on another movie."

"You're my starlet." You said with a wink and she blushed.

"Oh don't be like that." She said. "What makes you think I want to do something like that?"

You frowned. "You have been writing screenplays again."

Carrie sighed. "Guilty as charged… Maybe I do want to be more than Princess Leia Organa."

"But what about the Lakers?" you asked.

"Jerry and crew like my hands-off approach. And say what you want about the league, they like the fact I don't really do anything to rock the boat. They really like that we're pushing mandatory drug tests to stop the rampant cocaine usage"

You both paused. "You don't have to-"

Carrie sighed. "Maybe I want to do what I want if I go back. That's all."

Reward: Carrie has taken to screenwriting again, though her wish to make some of her own films has come up again.
------------------------------

-[X]The Twins Are Learning from Mary: You don't know why, or how… but the two twins have become terrors. And Mary is egging them on. Rolled: D100 => 53

They were trying to get into the cookies.

Your mothers cookies that were for the weekend. But they were all working together, with MAry helping them.

You admired the tenacity, but they were also going to hurt themselves.

So you grabbed the twins before they broke something and put them down into the cell…

And looked to Mary. "How did they get up there?" You asked.

"They climbed up." She lied.

"Mary." You sternly gazed at her.

"With my help." She said.

At least she knew better than to lie about it now.

Reward: The kids are beginning to have some fun making your hair grey and keeping you on your toes.
-----------------------------------------------------

-[X]A Well-Known Fan: So some really famous person is a fan of yours. Maybe you'll learn who they actually are. DC??? Rolled: D100 => 2

A Well-Known Enemy:D20 => 20

You looked at Murdoch and tried your best to not be… angered at him. "Mister O'Brian, I think we both know that this was inevitable."

Hollywood peace there may be, but this man was still giving you crap. "I think I made it clear that I'm not interested in working with Fox."

"True, and honestly, I was expecting that, but this is not about that." He said with a frown. "I want to make an offer."

"And? What's the catch?" You asked.

"I need to know when you're releasing the next Batman film?"

That was a warning bell if there ever was one. "Why?"

"Simple mathematics, I'm in the mood to lose money." He said.

"Ask Alan." You said. "I'm sure he'll give it-"

"I don't trust Alan."

"And I don't trust you, Mister Murdoch." You said. "No offense, you're like Sid, everything wrong in this town."

He laughed. "Sid built an empire and threw it all away by being an idiot by pissing you and George Lucas off. I'm not that fool."

"But you want to keep making money through those kinds of means." You said.

"Obviously."

"No." you firmly stated.

Murdoch's face twitched. "Really, you don't even know what I may give you in return."

"And my answer is still no, good day sir." You left. "Maybe you think that everyone can be bought, but you'll be surprised that it's not the case."

Reward: Rupert Murdoch has decided that he wants to destroy you at the box office because you are too… much of a wild card, that can affect things. And cause him to lose money.
------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Train Brandon: Brandon smiled. "Well…You wanna talk Bruce?" DC: 40 Rolled:D100 => 9

Brandon was in a martial arts tournament, so you didn't get a chance to talk to him.

Failure.
-----------------------------------------------

-[X]Networking: Well time to start finding out who might actually be interested in meeting you. (Write-in what you want to try and network with)
--[X] Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory. There's an interesting film making the distribution circuit around town, an experimental movie where the entire plot of the film is just two friends having a conversation at dinner. You want to see what it's about and if there's potential for a Lucasfilms distribution. Rolled: D100 => 30

It was Mike who told you to just… ignore that, and you wanted to refuse him.

Yet Mike told you about George and Stephen's thing.

Failure.
-------------------------------------------

--[X] George Romero and Stephen King: Apparently the masters of horror working on a new film consisting of a series of original horror stories written by King as a tribute to horror comics. You had great success with Dawn of the Dead and King really likes Lucasfilms, why don't you arrange for the funding and distribution of this project. Rolled:D100 => 94

George was almost in tears but was worried about the whole thing because he was worried that Mike was going to take charge and try to change things.

But after you said that Mike was focused on other projects… He was all aboard.

And Stephen was incredibly happy to see that your continued patronage of his work, and his love of films, was really… paying dividends.

Reward: Both men are happy to get funding.
------------------------------------------

-[X] Do auditions(Movies and TV Shows): You are going to go to some of the casting calls that are in the place where you can find work in. DC: 20(Possibility of only getting a commercial or TV show job, or extra work in a low-budget film)
--[X] Ask Jim if you and Carrie can guest star in an episode of The Muppet Show. The show is in its final season, and you really want to be in a episode for Mary so she can see her parents in her favorite show with Kermit and friends. Rolled: D100 => 91

SP: D100 => 86

Jim was ecstatic, mostly because he knew that if he could swing better ratings, he could be able to work on other projects.

And you were happy. Instead of playing characters or relatives of your characters, you just showed up and strutted in, and told Kermit you could be everything that people believed you to be, just needing a little time.

Carrie loved the little chameleon play of it, but just decided to do something far more casual, and sing and be great with Miss Piggy. And honestly… it was perfect.

But what you didn't expect was how popular the episode was for the crew. They enjoyed it alot.

Reward: You were in an episode of the Muppets and enjoyed every bit of it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X] Call your parents: You need to call mom and dad, and see how they are doing. DC: 10 (You call your parents and see what they are doing) Rolled: D100 => 9

Mom and dad were on a second honey moon. Good for them.

Failure.
