Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

I guess the biggest reason that prevents me from buying out Apple is that I don't think it would be in-character for the Steves to accept a film company buying their company outright when they're just getting started and making their first big waves. The other examples like Polaroid, Hanna-Barbera and Marvel all made sense cause they were suffering from various market or internal problems and needed outside help to fix everything while Apple isn't in such a position. I guess Woz would be okay with a Lucasfilms buyout since he's chill like that, but I think Jobs would be immediately hostile to a majority buyout and might leave entirely.

Last time we interacted with Jobs things were messy between us and now we stand in a position to buy out his whole company. Jobs can be a bit of a prideful narcissist, and losing control over his company to a movie studio could make him do rash things. Plus there's the potential for animosity with Gavin where he's sort of the outsider that came into Apple late, made better code than anyone there, and took over a leadership position with his brother then buying out the company.
Well if they have released an IPO that means that they are already selling Apple to whomever wants to buy it...

Anyone can buy stock of Apple, anyone can get 51% of its stock if they are willing to pay for it and take control of the company and Jobs knows it, so no I am not worried at all about that possibility.

At 30%, we'll be THE leading stock owners of Apple and will likely be able to appoint a Chairman based off of that alone. Most of the other major shareholders will likely follow Bruce's lead considering his business prowess, and if we buy out the entire stock of initial IPO, I don't see what would prevent Apple from releasing more stocks to dilute our control until ownership is finalized, nevermind that the Steves will both want ownership in their company.
Dude, haven't you noticed a pattern with our purchases here? Every time we didn't manage to buy something Universal stepped up and bought it for themselves...

If we don't get at least 51% of the company then I bet you 500 Internet cookies that Universal is going to step up and become the biggest shareholder of Apple just to spite us (and they can easily afford it)...

And about "releasing more stocks to dilute our control ownership is finalized" that is simply impossible because that is not how the Stock Market works... Any capital/share increase has to be approved by the owners of that stock, and even if it is approved each owner obtains the legal rights to get enough of that newly released shares so that they maintain the proportion of ownership that they originally possessed before the capital/share increase...

The thing is normaly I would be happy with 30% in any other situation (Elon Musk owns 13% of Tesla and he reigns like a God in that company, but do note that a lot of shareholders are Elon fanboys so that should equal to 30ish%) but because Magoose dice is so fickle and chaotic that the worst case scenario which in a normal world would almost never happen is now uncomfortable possible. So I want to minimize potential harm by shutting any posible chance of resistance.

Personal actions are autopass this turn so we should be fine on the Apple purchase without any immediate blowback considering this is Bruce investing privately into Apple, not Lucasfilms. I also raised the investment to 75 mil, so that's 43% and is MORE THAN ENOUGH to establish Bruce as a primary investor and support Gavin's endeavors. For example, in addition to Musk owning 13% of Tesla, Jeff Bezos, one of the most powerful men on Earth, only owns 10% of Amazon stock.

Honestly we could go for 35 mil and 20% and we'd still be in a very comfortable position of ownership. This establishes Bruce as a major investor in Apple and potential future owner, but still gives the Steves a bit of independence and allows time for the relationship to deepen.

Frankly, I'd be okay with only 30% or less, I feel that we're going in too much on Apple, and as your examples show not even Bexos or Musk own 30% of thos companies.

Owning that much makes me feel a bit uncomfortable to be honest.

After stewing on it a bit I find 43% good enough. I don't think our competitors are petty enough to buy the remaining 57% *knocks on wood*.
And in a emergency we could throw money around for that last 8%. I think Apple is a good investment because the future of entertainment is computers in every form and if we want to continue our philosophy of quality and cutting edge tech I find controling Apple almost a must.

Owning that much makes me feel a bit uncomfortable to be honest.
Just for curiosity why does that make you uncomfortable? It's just a company like any other like Marvel or polaroid. And if it comforts you as Apple grows and it stock price increases, the company is almost certain to create more stock in the market because otherwise the price would be too big for ordinary investors to buy it so our % will over the course of time drop.

TBH I had forgotten about the Autopass... Since I thought this was dice-dependent I preferred to try to buy all of the stock mostly to balance things out (If we aimed at 100% we could have rolled badly and only end up with 60%)... since that is not the case anymore I will update my plan to buy Stock for $90 million, which would give us 51% of Apple stock giving us total control over the company and it leaves 49% of the stock free for investors.
After stewing on it a bit I find 43% good enough. I don't think our competitors are petty enough to buy the remaining 57% *knocks on wood*.
IRL that would be true, but this is a Maggose Quest with the Pantented Drama Queen Magoose Dice...

That is why I am still aiming at 51% ownership in my updated plan...

Hey guys, I had an idea for our Channel.

Now look, one thing I've noticed lately is how audiobooks tend to be popular, not to mention how many YouTube channels lately focus on just telling stories without putting any animation or images, just leaving it all to the imagination of the listener. Pretty much like the time of the Radio and radio-serials. Which leads me to think that, despite Radio taling a second place to TV, there is still a desire for storytelling that is not visual but left to our imaginations instead.

So, why not try to put a schedule in our channel, let's say between Midnight and 6 AM, where instead of any new show, we put old radio serials, or perhaps create our own new ones, for those still awake to listen. I'm sure we could take some from the public domain, or license them if necessary. And we could have an entire new range to go from; horror, adventure, hystorical, etc. We could also save from trying to find more shows to put at that time, and avoid any of those infomertials as well who try and sell any and all kind of things.

What do you think?

What people think to do rebel moon ? In star wars show his aesthetic and how meses up is the galaxy post empire
We have Star Wars... Why try to do its non-union Mexican equivalent when we have the real deal :V?

  • [X] Plan In Memory of Robert Shaw
-[X]The Recasting of Robert Shaw: Robert is dead, and while production stalled, you, unfortunately, need to replace him. His role is too important to keep vacant. DC: ???
    --[X] Bob Hoskins
-[X]The Towering Mr. Fox: Morgan Freeman is a titan it seems, with quiet grace and truly remarkable timing. Both comedic and dramatic. And he's really happy to work on Batman for some reason. DC: 40
-[X]Alec Guinness and the continuing Butler Craziness: So Alex has wanted to work on Alfred's more… parental treatment of Bruce and even wrote a scene where he demands Batman sleeps and eats. DC: 35
-[X]Alan's Addentum: So Alan wants you to show up briefly in Flash, and wants to get that scene out of the way. Is that the Watch Tower Set? DC: 50
-[X]Kagemusha: Kurasawa wants to release his next greatest epic. DC: 0
-[X]Ron Howards Bizzare Script: So Ron wants to make a movie. So what is it? DC: 0
-[X]Dream Works... Holy fuck Tomino?: So Tomino has let dreamworks geta little chaotic. Sunrise is dealing with budget issues. Bandi Namco are unhappy. And Hanna Barbara want to talk about the future. DC: 30
-[X]Debbie's Simplicity: Debbie has begun a routine, and you find yourself enjoying it. DC:???
-[X]When Mary Wrote to the smart people: Your daughter, bless her soul, is the light of your life. So when you and Carrie saw numerous professors and special interests men… well want to bring her into a think tank, you suddenly realized how Special Mary herself wants to be. Since she went behind your back… and Carries. You looked to Mike Eisner and Brandon. "What the fuck, did you do!" DC: ???
-[X]What to do with the Mansion: This mansion will remain, but you have no idea what to do with it, since it has basically served its purpose as your fortress in the Hills.
--[X] Keep the mansion around as a second home, a place to host very large gatherings for family, friends and company and if another crisis hits, a place to fall back and be protected. When not using it, rent it out for Lucasfilms or other studios to use in movies. Not only did it make for an Excellent Wayne Manor, but apparently it would be perfect for a bond villain and numerous other settings.
-[X]Train Brandon: Brandon came to you with a piece of paper. "Got my first role. Wanna see it?"
-[X]Investments: You want to invest your hard-earned cash into something that you feel will be a good return on investment. And as well as diversify your assets DC: 0 (Linetail what you wish to invest in below this action, and the amount of money you want to invest in)
--[X] Purchase Apple Stocks. $60 Million. Your older brother has been doing wonders at Apple and from the looks of it, it seems like they are the company outside of ILM doing the most to innovate technology and computers. Purchase enough stocks to get your foot in the door, not only for future cooperation with Lucasfilms, but also to help Gavin with his career.
-[X]Networking: Well time to start finding out who might actually be interested in meeting you. (Write-in what you want to try and network with)
--[X] John G. Avildsen. There are two directors who you trust with Kung Fu Kid. George doesn't know much about sports and martial arts, and the other is John G. Avildsen. John created art with Rocky, brilliantly directing Sylvester's script with love and care, making it deserving of an Oscar, just the kind of guy you need to direct Kung Fu Kid. Reach out to John and try to recruit him as the film's director so that when production starts next year, it can be in good hands.

And the vote tally is extremely close... Then again the only real difference between the plans is between buying 42% and 51% of Apple's stock on its IPO...

Honestly, in financial terms, 42% ownership should be more than enough to have almost absolute and unchallenged control of Apple (IRL we could have that with just 15-25% of its stock), but I still think it is worth it to get up to 51% to completely eliminate the "almost" of the previous statement (Blame past experiences with Magoose Dice)

Hey guys, I just thought of something about Return of the Jedi. Are we keeping the slave Leia bit in there? Because that's some hijinks waiting for Bruce, if so.

That depends on when Bruce finds out.

during pre production? He'll raise a fit, but Carrie has to be informed for that to work.

During production? He'll raise so much hell that the only one who can stop him is Steve, and maybe Carrie.

The Shinanigans of George coming up with that is... going to make the office rather tense for the rest of production.

Can we change parts of the movie? I mean, I just think the whole "Luke and Leia are siblings" won't work in the film. After showing Han and Leia's relationship in Empire Strikes Back, having Han be jealous afterwards just seems odd.

Not to memntion I still hope that "Ewoks" is the name given to different species that have joined together in some kind of "Space tribe" to protect themselves from the Empire, with their own weapons and ships that could be used to fight in the space battles as well. Sort of like the end of "Rise of Skywalker" but done right this time.

I don't know why, but I briefly imagine Ewoks being replaced by orcs for whatever reason, when you said different species.

Let's go with Wookies, they are big and strong enough to make the last battle be epic, and cute enough to sell them as plushies...
