Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Thank fuck for the rolls in Romania. I was concerned given the warcrimes and bioweapon rolls and would have offered my Tropico dice for another set of rolling @Magoose.

But it seems that a bloody but amazing mythos has already formed for Romania.

now that i think about it with the myth of dracula which has returned in all its glory stronger and more honored than ever, romania's reaction to the twilight films/books is going to be... interesting?, stephanie meyer will probably have to avoid the Eastern Europe for several decades.

Trollhunter: [ Mockumentary ]
Darn. Shame about Poland and Czechoslovakia, seems they'll hace to suffer the Soviet boot for a while longer.
Why do you think I had the Polish Underground State making deals with the IRA? Tea?
So anyone want to see If a higher up would rebel against the purge so they can survive and it leads to a civil war
Would never lead to open civil war, because it's always happening in the background anyway...how else do you think the KGB Agent Putin got put in charge.
But it seems that a bloody but amazing mythos has already formed for Romania.
At the very least, it'll hopefully curb shitty vampire movies, so Stephanie Myer will have to completely fuck up another mythological creature...
To troll or not to troll…

That is the question
You think I haven't planned for this?

Trollhunter: [ Mockumentary ]

Summary:
Following a group of students who set out to make a documentary about bear poaching in Norway but stumble upon a government conspiracy involving real-life trolls.

The story revolves around a mysterious man named Hans, who works as a trollhunter for a secret government agency. As the students join him on his dangerous mission, they gradually discover the existence of trolls, creatures from Norse mythology that have been kept hidden from the public. Hans, a grizzled and experienced trollhunter, reveals that he is tasked with maintaining the troll population and keeping them away from human settlements.

As the group delves deeper into the trollhunter's world, they encounter various types of trolls, each with its own traits and weaknesses. From the massive Jotnar trolls that dwell in the mountains to the smaller but cunning Ringlefinch trolls, the students witness the awe-inspiring and sometimes terrifying reality of these mythical creatures.

As the documentary progresses, tensions rise, and the students find themselves caught in the middle of a conflict between the trollhunter and the government agency that employs him. They face life-threatening situations as they uncover the truth behind the cover-up and the government's efforts to control the troll population.

Notable Scenes:

1. Introduction to Trolls: Early in the film, the students capture glimpses of a mysterious man, Hans, who they suspect is involved in illegal bear poaching. When they finally confront him in the forest, they witness their first encounter with a massive troll. This scene sets the stage for the students' journey into the hidden world of trolls.

2. Bridge Troll Encounter: As the group follows Hans, they come across a troll hiding under a bridge. The tension builds as they attempt to remain quiet and evade the creature's detection. This scene showcases the suspenseful atmosphere and the clever strategies used by the trollhunter to outsmart the trolls.

3. Mountain Troll Encounter: The students venture deep into the mountains, where they encounter a colossal Jotnar troll. This thrilling sequence showcases the scale and power of the creature as it pursues them through the rocky landscape. It's a visually stunning and intense moment that highlights the danger inherent in their mission.

4. The Troll Blood Sample: In their quest for evidence, the students manage to collect a sample of troll blood. As they analyze it, they discover its unique properties and learn about the government's involvement in controlling the trolls. This scene provides a crucial turning point in the story, revealing the conspiracy at play.

5. Final Showdown: The climax of the film sees the students and the trollhunter engaging in a dramatic confrontation with a powerful and dangerous troll known as the Tusseladd. This intense battle showcases the resourcefulness and determination of the characters as they fight to survive and expose the truth.

Hot damn, this is definitely a hell of a national mythos for Romania, the only country that managed to fight a Soviet invasion on their own and win. A hell of a chapter to the Cold War that is going to be legendary for centuries and now it's not a matter of if the Soviet Union shall fall, but when

Honestly this is making me imagine type moon with Vlad helping to lead this.

Also I imagine Romania will have a very powerful cultural reverence for Vlad now as a symbol of defiance against enemies who would take away Romania's freedom.

Also Romania will probably have some very strong culture of pride and defiance against authority and anyone who is viewed as oppressive.

I wonder how the new Romanian Goverment deals with the fact that they are surrounded on all sides by oppressive communist dictatorship and the only way to trade with the west is through the black sea (which the soviets could blockade at any moment)

Well, technically, Yugoslavia is not a part of the Warsaw pact, and they've made sure to push themselves away from it ever since news of the use of chemical weapons started spreading. So, there's a path there.

Otherwise, they may have to Berlin Airlft their entire economy.

Could the West supply Romania with enough planes to keep their economy running if the soviets were petty enough to put the entire nation under blockade under the guise of quarantining the biovirus (that they themselves released)

Depends how committed they are, and they may well be. This is the one place inside the iron Curtain not controlled by the Soviets, the one safe haven in a sea of Communism for the Western Powers. This could be their greatest enclave, or their biggest drawback depending on how much Romania is willing to play ball with them.

I would not be suprised if in next years elections Reagan promised to supply Romania with enough planes that makes the berlin airlift look like childs play

It's funny that you mention the sea, because there is a method for western powers to not only supply Romania through most blockades but also give them greater access to the Black Sea. Now, admittedly, they apparently hadn't seen much reported use until 1988, but if one were to modify the design slightly one could modify a smaller narco-sub to make it's way through a river system, making it theoretically possible for foreign intelligence agencies to use their proxies [such as hypothetically the CIA and the IRA] to slip through the Danube River to deliver various supplies, such as food, water and firearms, to Romania from another point on the river, likely Austria. Now, assuming that something like this was already in use, it's likely that the IRA also helped supply other resistance groups up and down the Danube.

[EDIT: By the way, I just realized because the IRA helped supply Romania with everything they needed, even if the US is revealed to have helped with the logistics through the CIA, it's likely the average Romanian is not only very sympathetic to their cause but also knows it as part of their nation's mythos...the IRA might be seeing some support coming their way.]

Somehow I think the IRA has made some political impacts for the Romanians because they are going to spread their ideology if they can help it which is also why the CIA will also do it too so we're most likely see IRA party System along with the CIA one

Romania seemed to be a case of right place and right times then; right place as the revolution happened in a defensible área that the Soviets mostly left alone due to having their own sympathizers in power. Right time as said sympathizers pissed up the entre population, turning it into a powderkeg that needed only a single fuse to explode...which we provided.

Darn. Shame about Poland and Czechoslovakia, seems they'll hace to suffer the Soviet boot for a while longer.

It also hugely benefitted from being the only member of the Warsaw Pact which was completely independent from Soviet administration, produced their own weaponry and vehicles, had large oil deposits to feed the machine, and had no Soviet troops inside when the Revolution broke out. All of those factors plus Soviet incompetence and Romanian skill ensured a conflict that had it not been for the Biowar would have been the greatest independence war since America itself, only if the Revolutionary War had every battle be akin to the Battle of San Jacinto.

But yeah, expect lots of uninformed memes of Hungary and Czechoslovakia being the sad doge while Romania is the Chad Doge.

I wonder how the new Romanian Goverment deals with the fact that they are surrounded on all sides by oppressive communist dictatorship and the only way to trade with the west is through the black sea (which the soviets could blockade at any moment)

You're forgetting that the only way into the Black Sea is through the Bosporus strait which is controlled by Turkey, a NATO member. So even if Yugoslavia decided to rejoin the Warsaw Pact, Romania can be continuously supplied through sea trade and if the Soviets tried to block that then it's Article 5 and World War III.

The US is not a signatory to the Montreux Convention so they can hypothetically send in as much of the US Navy into the Black Sea as they want, though of course they have to be on good terms with Turkey. Considering The Soviet's genocide and aggression, Turkey will probably be very lenient with US naval presence and maybe some new NATO bases will open up in Turkey. Romania will undoubtedly try to speedrun entry into NATO and once it becomes a part of NATO, there is no doubt in my mind that Reagan will devote a chunk of the budget to not only a Marshall Plan for Romania, but also rebuilding Romania's military and getting it adapted to NATO standardization. Romania will turn Constanta into a proper naval base and in addition to the US Naval presence they'll probably make their own proper fleet.

So as long as Romania is in NATO, it's economy can survive through sea trade, and even that alone will make the Romanian economy and trade far bigger than it was as a Communist state. But for now they can also rely on trade through Yugoslavia which at this point had an extensive and healthy trade relationship with the West for the past 30 years and after the Biowar is now like China openly Western-aligned in the Cold War. So Romania can send goods on trains through Yugoslavia to enter western markets via Italy, Germany and the rest of Western Europe. It's going totake many years, but Romania will recover and have a healthy economy.

Although once Romania joins NATO, I expect they'll be a very stubborn and independent member, wanting to continue to produce their own vehicles and weapons (Albeit with standard NATO weaponry) and wanting to take a leadership role in NATO operations. It's kind of funny to think that in Hetalia and Polandball that Romania will be portrayed as America's best friend and the most American country in Europe.

What makes the geopolitical situation interesting is that NATO now has a democratic Capitalist island in a sea of Communism and now a NATO state besides Turkey will share a border with the USSR. This is a massive paradigm changer and has basically screwed up three decades of Soviet doctrine and wargaming in addition to their atrocious losses and whatever destruction the plagues are currently wracking on their lands. Bulgaria is now completely isolated from the rest of the Warsaw Pact, so expect that instead of Nicaragua to be the prime target of Reagan's CIA because they now have an example of Rollback working and flipping Bulgaria is a greater victory than crushing the Sandinistas. While Bulgaria right now is a technically Neo-Stalinist state whose government is super loyal to the Soviets, the Bulgarians undoubtedly know of Romania's victory and if a full on Revolution breaks out, there's little the Soviets can do with their crap Navy, thus they'd have to do a paratrooper invasion ala MW2.

Also let's say hypothetically the rest of the Cold War timeline is on track. That'll make the Bosnian War interesting because Yugoslavia/Serbia will have a NATO powerhouse in its literal backyard and I think after this Romania will be super hostile to genocidal regimes. The Soviet-Romanian War has also ensured that the Balkans remain an important region in American minds instead of a distant affair, so Bush, Clinton or whoever is President at the time can mobilize an early intervention and stop the genocide in its tracks.

So I believe the Hellsing manga would mention that Alucard helped the Romanians win

It's Canon that Thatcher's first act as Prime Minister was to unleash Alucard on the Soviets.

We aren't slavs dude

Sorry about that. I keep on getting confused since you guys are Orthodox and are right in the middle of the Slavic world geographically, not to mention your distance from the other Romance nations.
