TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands.
To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.
I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.
I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.
I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all.
If it has already been at least 5 years since her death, it should be possible to petition the Vatican through the local Bishop for starting the process of potentially recognizing her as a Saint.
The Rewards:
[]Meanwhile, with Francis (George sent his best friend a copy of the book, and says "Please read it, it's one of those books you'll love")
[]Bless the Maker (Meanwhile with ILM, they too, look at an impossible challenge. "So... wait, we can use computers and models at the same time?)
[]The Great Problem (George Lucas looks at the simple thing in front of him. "I need help with the script.")
Really unfortunate to see them doing this, but no business relationship truly lasts forever and if they do end up deciding to cut ties, we always have Sunrise who is more than willing to stick by us.
Lol, literally had them try and seek out greener pastures, only to be immediately reminded why they partnered with Lucasfilms in the first place. Ain't any greener pastures than these ones!
Damn, that was close. A shame that there are lots of Toho leaders looking to find new paths with Disney but it makes sense. Lucasfilms is only one studio and with our limited releases even though it's made Toho a shit ton of money, it's not too much of a stretch for some Toho employees to believe there's more money with other paths or a chance to enter into America without a third party partner, not to mention that Disney has better infrastructure and clout. Well, guess we just have to prove our worth, hopefully Last Dinosaur will go a long way in that regard.
Also is it just me or has Magoose Dice been particularly brutal recently with the constant Nat 1s on most updates? I guess this is part of the Quest's Balance Patch along with the NPC Studio boosts.
Pretty cool that both O'Brians and Lucas' will have their first children at the same time and hopefully they can grow up the best of friends. Mark Hamill is also going to have his first child two years from now so it looks like we're going to have a big old Star Wars family. Interesting that there's gonna be a George Lucas III, almost makes me wish for a daughter so Bruce and George can be in-laws later down the line. No matter what looking forward to the play dates.
Something tells me this timeline is going to have a lot of Vietnamese-Americans named Bruce and Carrie, lol. Really glad I decided to spend the charity auction on this and probably Bruce's most incredible and impactful act of goodness. One thing I love about Magoose Quests is that the high scale and escalation create a lot of potential for great good and it's a nice feeling to see Bruce correct a wrong that never should have happened.
Let's continue do to great charity work in the future and hope that many other Hollywood stars and executives will try to one-up us in charity. Plus something tells me that Mr. Beast is gonna be called the Bruce O'Brian of the 21st century.
One interesting hypothesis is that this might lead to Jerry Brown losing re-election, either by losing the nomination or outright losing the election considering he opposed something done by Bruce that was wildly successful and universally supported along with making xenophobic comments. Probably might not happen since he won OTL with a 20 point lead and had no contenders in the Dem primary but who knows, might have had a rougher term with the Strike.
Wait, George actually has the film all done and ready to go? OTL he didn't begin filming Dawn of the Deead until November of 77, released it in Italy in September of 1978 and then released in America in April of 1977. I was assuming we wouldn't have the movie ready til this year but if he got production done and was just waiting for a distributor then I'll take it for a summer blockbuster and we get a closer relationship with the second coolest George.
I do wonder here with baby George and maybe one or two other children if that means that George is never gonna adopt his three kids. Could see arguments for yes if him and Marcia want more. If not I hope they at least find loving families.
Damn, Alan actually decides to be a dude. Seems that everything is alright, and that, maybe, we'll all stop being all cut throat and violent, and maybe we can get some happiness in this quest...
AHAHAHAHAH!
[]Alan Swoops in (It seems Alan has been helping keeping the media away from you. You appriciate it)
[]Alan Takes Even More Gambles (Alan went on the Record, saying this "Superman will be bigger then Star Wars")
[]And Then, Goodness wins (Something tells you that everyone is going to be happy about what he has to say next)
[]Stan Lee Begins his Crusade (Stan Lee begins traveling around the world looking for Artists to improve Marvel)
[]Jack Kirby Begins His Battles (Jack Kirby wrote the first story. Everyone is frightened by just how violent, and good it is)
[]And Marvel Comics Goes To War (Marvel begins to start looking for an animation studio.. but will not find one for its new Idea)
[]Stan Lee Begins his Crusade (Stan Lee begins traveling around the world looking for Artists to improve Marvel)
[]Jack Kirby Begins His Battles (Jack Kirby wrote the first story. Everyone is frightened by just how violent, and good it is)

No "Realism" that fanfiction is trying to bring, this should be similar in feeling to Horizons.
While you did not believe entirely in the engraving of the Statue of Liberty, you did believe it for everyone else. The tired and huddled masses would be given a chance to become Americans. And you gave them a chance to do that.
The poem on the Statue of Liberty may just be, in my opinion, the greatest poem ever written. That does remind me though, that we could do a story from Brennan Lee Mulligan. I'd want to wait until at least Gary Gygax creates D&D before doing it, but we could make it one a flagship of our brand by making this as an animated series. I will post the full season 1 and 2 adaptations later.
I wonder if we could manage to get Bruce canonized after his death.
If it has already been at least 5 years since her death, it should be possible to petition the Vatican through the local Bishop for starting the process of potentially recognizing her as a Saint.
For the process of canonization you have to wait until five years after someone's death with the only exception being the Pope himself starting the process prior. From there the members of the congregation if they feel that such a person is worthy, petitition their local bishop who investigates the life and works of the subject. If they find such is worthy, the Bishop declares the subject a Servant of God, gives all that they have investigated to the Curia who then make a reccomendation to the Pope to proclaim them as Venerable, or being high in virtue. From there you need two miracles attributed through prayer and intercession of the venerable and after approval by the Vatican into legitimacy, they become a Saint.
For Sally I could definitely see the process happening throughout the 80's and her becoming a Saint during then or the 90's as she did live a holy life. As for Bruce being canonized, considering he's a lay member and isn't entirely pure of heart and soul, I don't think he would become a saint five years after his death but then again he's already being looked into the Church by now and a Bruce whose lived a long life with many more great works like this might be a contender, so it'll probably happen in the 21st century. Unfortunately we're about 1800 years too late to become the patron saint of actors and film.
I mean the dude has a second channel called Beast Philantrophy solely dedicated to massive charity works and he has a large chain of food banks and recently helped 1000 people cure their blindness so he does have some Bruce qualities.
That's good to hear. As much good work as Bruce is doing it's natural that as part of the butterflies some people will be worse off than OTL even if they're good people or did nothing wrong so it's good that George's three eldest still have their Dad along with Marcia.
EDIT: Ignore what was written at the top, part of Gavin's Omake I was working on
Without any care or consideration for thee nearby medical personnel and patients, one Gavin O'Brian sprinted through the halls of St. Clare's to reach what he feared was his dying father so they could have some sort of time and closure before the worst could happen.
Since DreamWorks is now filled with a Japanese staff and we gained rights for Gundam, we can be the ones who introduce anime to the US, not 4Kids. We can also create our own anime and maybe in the 90s we can make an arrangement with GameFreak and Nintendo a deal similar to what we have with Sunrise: Have our own Pokèmon anime series with a different continuity which is completely separated from Satoshi's adventures.
We can have a series that dives deeper into the lore of the Pokèmon themselves. While Japan's show can be the more child friendly one, we can have ours be a more mature version. Doesn't necesssarily mean darker and edgier and full of "fanfiction realism" as described by @RealOtto.

Your last visit to Toho had been...illuminating in a way. If anyone had told you that a solid partnership built on reliability (and profit as Mike would oh so helpfully add) would be nearly undone because of greed, well, you'd certainly believe them. Hadn't you seen enough of that here in Hollywood? Enough to taint your views on the industry and try for your own studio alongside George than work with and trust them.
But you'd expected better from Toho. If anything, this has shown you that there's no difference between studios around the world, no matter how much they claim otherwise. Toho had been ready (or nearly) to throw away a profitable partnership, one that had given 110% when it came to their distributions, all because of a small chance at a higher percentage profit.
And this made Mike furious.
Hadn't he worked his ass off to make sure each and every one of their films have enough marketing for the audience to actually be interested? hadn't he made sure that all their imports had theaters full where they wouldn't have anything before? Well, he was not going to let this slide. They thought they could make more profit without Lucasfilms, Mike would show them why that was nothing but a Pipe Dream.
And he would do it with The Last Dinosaur.
Made by an unlikely alliance of American and Japanese film companies; Rankin/Bass Productions and Tsuburaya Productions, it was a movie that had found no distributor and had to content itself as being a TV movie just three months back. Its plot had a Tycoon and big game hunter, along with his expedition, go deep underground into a lost world where dinosaurs still lived (as well as cavemen), and it's basically a story of adventures as they try to either escape, or kill the big Dinosaur, with the tycoon displaying some Captain Ahab-esque characteristics as he'd rather remain behind than escape with the group.
This film was obviously made on an incredibly low budget, which you can judge by many aspects of it shown on the screen. But then again, what are you expecting from production companies more used to making holiday specials and Ultraman shows! The Last Dinosaur is preposterous, has campy effects, redone sound effects that still retain aspects of their original versions, and with the exception of Richard Boone who plays the tycoon, everyone has completely wooden acting.
So, why is it so enjoyable!?!
Because it is! You could not stop yourself from being charmed by the film. It just has this quality that grabs you and refuses to let you go. Or perhaps it's all the small things that make it fun instead of a slog to watch; Richard Boone is an absolute delight as he chews up the scenery (Reportedly he was heavily drinking while filming and even drunk during some scenes). The Tyrannosaurus is a gigantic freaking dinosaur, and yet in several scenes (including two kills) it's able to walk right up to where the humans are without being detected. It's called The Last Dinosaur, yet there's clearly many around, with a fight between Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops being one of the highlights. The special effects on the film are simply laughable, with clearly rubber suits for the dinosaurs that just make you laugh rather than be frightened of them.
It is a mindless film, and yet, somehow, there is something enjoyable about it. It's a film that cannot be forgotten by those who have seen it. And whether they loved it or hated it, they remember it. Enough for them to watch it again, and with friends this time who just call their other friends to join them, to the point that everyone is just having a grand old time laughing at a movie that its "so bad it's good". The number of people going for a rewatch it's just insane, the Theaters have been so full that some have considered it another Star Wars with how people just rave about it.
Heck, the entire run made you more money than the Lone Wolf and Cub movies combined!
Critics however are just...disappointed. Well, they should know that not all movies can be pieces of art that deserve to be hanged alongside the Louvre, but to call it an assault on the senses, the final proof of Japan's lack of taste, and Lucasfilms pandering to the lowest common denominator seems a bit harsh to you. There are serious exhortations for the public to boycott this film, others that curse at the theatres for showing such "filth" in their halls, and of course there's the more extreme ones that call for the reels to be found and burned so no one has to see them again.
A bit too much in your opinion.
Though the one that truly got to you was the review of one critic that truly seemed hurt by it all, pretty much arguing that with movies as exemplary as Throne of Blood which was shown just last month, how could Lucasfilms throw then something that rightfully belonged in either a can of garbage or never having made at all.
Frankly, you didn't know whether to pity him, or just scoff at him. Better to just leave it be.
As for Toho...well, they've been pretty quiet. This is a movie they knew was bad, and yet not only made profit, but more than their movies combined had expected. Producers and executives that had been mentioning a chance for greater profits and greener pastures are suddenly not present when interacting with you or Mike. You'd usually call this a win, but you now know very well how studios operate, no matter their nationality. Toho may be willing to continue working with you, but in the end it's nothing more than business.
Honestly, a movie so bad it's good is honestly not that bad to release. And movies where they clearly gave their all despite the obvious low budget can be very enjoyable.
