    TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

    To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

    I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

    I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

    I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

    No. If only because we weren't invited yet, and Mike is trying to not lose all his hair with George just ignoring everyone to spend days at a time with ILM to pioneer Special effects... when he should be focused on trying to make sure his company isn't destroyed by fuckery.

    Oh and try and create digital photography and cameras.

    And get Pixar up and running.

    And so much more that we take for granted in the modern world of cinima. Hell he might even get a chance to do something real cool and invent IMAX just for shits and giggles.

He's meticulous and has a wonderful work ethic. There is also the fact he is a very, very big fan of star wars, and has been seen bowing at George whenever he's in the office for interviews. He also comes with some sort of toy that Sunrise wanted him to make a show about, and show off to George, and see if said toy would breach the western Market, with the right backing. He also said he wanted to do something cool with it… calling it Star Wars with Robots. (Automatically get the rights to Gundam. Enter Alliance with Japanese Animation company Sunrise. All TV show rolls get a +40 to their rolls. Script quality of all animation get increased by +40.)

    You were lying down on your bed and took a long tired breath. It was going to be this craziness now. The animation department had half the staff that only spoke Japanese, meaning there had to be interpreters that were honestly too expensive to afford, even with your vast wealth…. Well, it was only you and a few others that knew enough English to act as translators. This was fine for now because thank god for the universities within LA that offered English and Japanese classes, and native speakers of both languages that were soon going to be on the payroll to make sure everyone would try.

    You knew that everyone there was taking Japanese classes or English classes so that the work environment was not going to be a true nightmare of mistranslations, and just… well, you wouldn't say racism… but more… arrogance on both sides.

    Don, John, and Ron were not happy that they were taking orders, and being led by a man they didn't know. Tomino was good, and you knew full well he would gain their respect.

    It was just some of them were not so eager to do so, without working with him. And Noboru Ishiguro was… Well, the less said about his desire to go to several US Navy and Air Force bases to just watch planes fly… and fly them himself.

    You thought the last part was joking. Then you saw him sign up for pilot lessons.

    The man loved planes so much… that it actually frightened you.

    "Something bothering you Bruce?" Carrie asked as she slinked in next to you. You wondered if she was waiting for you, for an opportunity.

    You sighed. "Well, I think I fucked up."

    "How so?"

    "We have a golden opportunity, and ideas galore, but half the staff are wondering what the other half is doing, and there is a language barrier between everyone, making it even worse." You took a breath. "I just wasn't expecting all this chaos."

    "Well, that's what we get when you try new things. Chaotic, messy, and hard… before we all make things better." She said with a smile.

    You knew what she wanted before you let out a sigh. "Not tonight Carrie. I just want to go to sleep tonight."

    Carrie fumed before crashing down next to you. "I thought it would help."

    "I wish it would, but as much as it would make me feel better, I want to solve the problem, not ignore it." You replied.

    Carrie looked at you with her loving gaze. "I know, we'll find time for it."

    "I promise." You replied.

    • Well, I think it's obvious that we're taking the animation options, and the ones where we get the Gundam rights as well. Now, I would be all in on Hiawatha, but I've also heard how we also want to start this with a bang. So perhaps we can take an option so that we can develope the script for Treasure Planet. Though I don't know if we have the technology to do it justice at the moment. If we do then we can go ahead I guess.

    By the way @Magoose , how does the Animated Scripts work? Is it the same as with the regular scripts, where very six months the animated Pitches are written? Do the Directors pitch their OTL ideas to us at some point? Also, would Aladdin be made like how Orion Ultor's Omake proposed it, about Uyghur culture?

    same as regular scripts, and directors do have a chance to push OTL.

    And yes Orion's omake would be what he proposed it as.

    Okay so this turn is going to be incredibly heavy on Dreamworks. Help sort things out and make sure our motley brady bunch get along and can communicate. Speak with Tomino and hopefully get things started with Gundam.


    @Magoose Also when is Five Dates planning on release?

    Since Spring Break is gonna happen this turn I think we should release an import to test the waters and see if we can release something alongside the last stage of Star Wars, and more specifically to see if Five Dates will be a success. I voted for Throne of Blood, which is basically a Kurosawa adaptation of MacBeth. It's a Kurosawa movie and we haven't released any of his in a while, and it's also staring Toshiro Mifune, and we'll probably get loads of people who want to see Obi-wan. So a safe test.

    Do Oscars and other award shows to have Bruce be more established in Hollywood and win Best Picture for Star Wars and Best Actress for Carrie.

    Also, it's clear Carrie wants a baby so let's honor her wish and give the O'Brians a special weekend to help create the Goslings.

    By the way I am gonna do my best to support Dreamworks with Omakes, but no promises cause today's my birthday.

    The idea of the plan is to try and meld the new animation department smoothly. Get Tomino to speak with George and also to start getting Gundam under Dreamworks.

    Learning Japanese because when we last learned Japanese we were described as "near fluent". With Japanese animators being in management in Lucasfilm, it is time for Bruce to speak as perfect Japanese as possible (if only to prevent miscommunications).

    Want to invest in Apple (which our older brother is now working at). It is pre-Apple II being on the market and so it is a great time to invest in a private company while it probably needs funding to fund its first major flagship product release/manufacturing. It's good for Bruce (who does invest in family businesses) as it diversifies his investments. But, also is a good connection into the tech world that Lucasfilm could use in the future to help its 3D technologies.

    Only thing I would've changed is making Musker and Clements the Directors, mainly since they have that Disney touch in them and I imagined Hiawatha to have that. Personally, I think Bluth would do great with movies that tend to be a bit darker, which while Hiawatha is, it still does not go to the point Bluth usually gets to.

    Then again, Bluth has that Bonus...wait does he have the Bonus? Magoose mentioned that if elected Directors only part of their bonuses apply.

    Oh well, I'm sure he'll do fine.

    Aside from that, is there any other franchise or property we want to buy or own?

    The Muppets for the puppetry ability and the characters themselves (currently pre-Muppet Movie)

    Apple Inc. for technology and to diversify Bruce's investments (really heavy in Lucasfilm, which is good, but he needs to diversify). It could open the door to investing in other technology firms, some of which could be used in Lucasfilm. Also would be cool for Bruce to be involved as a legend in another industry.)(Currently pre-Apple II).

    Irvine Corp. for ability to influence Southern California, massive profit, and political clout. Also diversifies his investments.

    Asimov's books.
     
    If we do end up doing Hiawatha could we try to hire Native American voice actors? I know this is an actor quest and our hero is Irish, but it might be good to start a precedent for getting more people of color into voice acting roles.

    Apple literally just started out. If we invest 20 million I'm pretty sure we'd outright buy the company. I'm all for helping Gavin and the Steves, but in the future I'd start with something small like 100k so that we're not outright bankrolling anything and steal Gavin's thunder by having his little bro fund the entire business. Plus, if we do something that big it'll probably bruise Job's ego and make him paranoid that Gavin is trying to steal the company. Let's wait, plus I have some Omakes in the works for Gavin that will hopefully give bonuses.

    Everyone's itching to work and we can't just delay months without making a movie or else people will start to get restless. It's not like we've got a time limit for the movie and if it takes a couple years so the company works out it's kinks, so be it. I just want to do something now because we got a shitload of opportunities with Gundam and Macross along with Bluth's 80's films and we can only do that after making a movie as Magoose said that the Dreamworks staff doesn't want to get ambitious with shows and multiple films until they've got one movie under their belt. Like I said, making Omakes to hopefully support this.

    As for Carrie, even if we don't manage to conceive this turn, I think Bruce owes it to her to at least make an active attempt to get pregnant. The end of the update was literally Carrie begging Bruce to have sex so they can try and it seems like she really wants to be a mom. If Bruce doesn't at least make an attempt he looks pretty douchey to his wife and might make Carrie anxious that he doesn't want to have kids.

    Changed it to Musker and Clements. I think a no penalties bonus is better than a quality bonus for our first film and the two would probably make the Japanese more at ease with their cool leadership than Bluth who will probably have more issues and be very narrow minded.

    Probably best to lay the foundation a bit more and break the barrier's between the new staff a bit with time to get used to each other before attempting a project.

    Hmm on project torn between Atlantis or Basil among what we got right now. As doesn't seem Bluth has approach for ideas for American tail or land before time yet

    Also need to refresh my memory about what Hiawatha is again.

    EDIT - never mind found it and remember it now~ Not bad film to start with either.
