Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

@Magoose For the people we choose for Directors will their bonuses still apply or is that only for the person who becomes Head of Dreamworks? Also if Tomino becomes our head does that mean Sunrise makes the Gundam show or we have to make Gundam?

Sunrise will still make gundam. You can make your own gundam show as well.

And maybe Sunrisie asking Lucasfilms to make a gundam show.

And maybe Tomino deciding to do something insane like a Star Wars animated series.

[X] Plan: Mecha Combo
-[X] Head of Dreamworks
--[X]John Musker and Ron Clements: (Staff working for them will not suffer any roll maluses. Animated Films of all types will not suffer any roll maluses)
-[X] Directors
--[X]Jeffrey Katzenberg (For every successful film Jeff has that makes a profit, gain a +100 to all rolls. However, for every failure, he will roll if he has a breakdown, and if he takes it out on his staff, giving them a -50 to every roll)
--[X]Don Bluth: (Brings another 20 animators, as well as gives a +50 quality to all Western Animation films. But suffers a -50 to all 3d animation films as he despites it)
--[X]Yoshiyuki Tomino: (Automatically get the rights to Gundam. Enter Alliance with Japanese Animation company Sunrise. All TV show rolls get a +40 to their rolls. Script quality of all animation get increased by +40.)

I want Mecha. I think Akira should be left to japan, because as amazing and revolutionary as Akira is, the work that went into it's details is crazy. I don't want that crazy on our films aside from the Story side of things.

Also I want Gundam. Tomino being a great overall Hired Gun is just icing on the cake, due to how ridiculously usefull he is in all things he'll touch with his bonuses. I know we don't have the TV to make use of him fully yet, but that still makes him a great Script man.

[X] Plan Best of Both Worlds

I'll be honest, at first, I wasn't thrilled with this plan. You already know how I feel about Bluth, I didn't really care Kawamori, and while I liked Tomino, it concerned me as to how hiring someone from ostensibly a rival company as head of Dreamworks and passing over Otomo for not even a director role could affect our relationship with Toho. And besides, I kind of wanted Otomo so we could use his his experience as a Mangaka to produce OELs(Original English Language Manga or AmeriManga) and create our own American Shonen Jump ;). Then I thought about it a bit more and more and the plan began growing on me. And besides, in regards to Bluth, it's not as if Tomino is likely to remain head of Dreamworks for so long that Bluth couldn't ever become head of Dreamworks. Also, we can always find some other way to produce OELs, even if we have to poach some Mangaka or Shonen Jump employees to do it.

Because if so, I'll go with John Musker and Ron Clements as Head of Animation and Don Bluth as DIrector. Nothing against him, but at some point we are moving into 3D animation and we really don't need that Malus.
Bluth has me scared because if we want to grow, we NEED to develop and be at the forefront of 3D
Guys, remember that we are in 1977, we are decades away of having to worry about 3D animation...

And most of us want to keep Dreamworks and Pixar as independent studios one specialized in 2D and the other in 3D so no problems about mining up stuff

Can we still make a Gundam show or other animated series even if we don't have a tv division?

Wait, Sunrise makes Gundam but we get the rights. Does that mean they would have to pay us?

Also, if we get Kawamori like my plan suggests, does that mean Macross is made in the US? Because he basically created said franchise and the one that inspired the Transformers. So that means we can make the Transformers as well, right?

I think the synergy between John Musker & Ron Clements and the directors with the malus effects is just too good to pass up.

Zero chance of a death spiral for Jeffery, so he's bound to hit an upward spiral.

Why? I understand why we wouldn't be able to do that for Gundam, as Sunrise can just have it animated in Japan, but why wouldn't we be able to animate a project of our own and just have it air on another channel/station?
No I mean that to make a Gundam TV show, we would need our crew to make TV animation…

And right now they don't want to make tv animation.

Give one production and they will dance to do what ever we want.

You wanna know what that also means?

Harmony gold won't make robotech… meaning battle tech won't be sued every five years.

And oh boy would that be good for battletech

Why would we? Hasbro made Transformers.
Hasbro licensed the Car-Robots designs (on which Kawamori worked with) to create Transformers, and the Car-Robots were part of the Diaclone Line, a series of toys that showed robots that tranformed into different types of vehicles. The Diaclone line was created by Kawamori.

The man was a pioneer. He came up with the concept of the Tranforming Mecha and the fighting Mecha robot. Hell, he created Macross, which became Robotech, and the designs there were just a sign of what was to come.
You wanna know what that also means?

...guys, we need to buy Battletech.
