Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

but I have been rather clear about making movie or TV pitches about existing Video game franchises...

Magoose means to:
Continue my Crack Wars Trilogy with: "The Return of the Crack" where everythinf foea right for Dumbledore as Grindelwald, Palpatine, and Darth Snape were defeated by the forces of Potter, Jackson, and Sparkle.

NO!

This is why we can't have nice things!

Hey, you know, we could try and distribute the Zatoichi films since Toho now owns the rights and made more of those films,

I can see it becoming the third famous Japanese franchise to be shown in America (The other two being Godzilla and Lone Wolf and Cub.)

Damn, fair enough. I just kind of wanted to make it a movie series since we're approaching the point where the two main actors would perfectly fit as their roles
I was going to suggest the use of Karaoke, like in the games, to highlight or show parts of the characters personalities or relationships. Like how in the game you are shown an animation where the character is doing something completely wild in comparison to just singing in a room.

Would've been fun.

Five Dates Part 3 (Production)
Five Dates Part 3 (Production):

You and Carrie were waiting at the restaurant that would serve as the backdrop for all five dates. It was perfect for both of you. While it was not the restaurant that you would enjoy having, as there was no stage for shows, and it was a more traditional American restaurant…

Yet you were happy that it was the case. Maybe more people would be happy to see themselves with this kind of place, rather than it being niche and specific.

"Well, I can't say that this was what I wanted, but it will have to do?" The crew was preparing for the first day of the shoot, and you took a deep breath, looking through the camera lens, and were happy with what you were seeing.

"Aren't you going to make me sit here and try to prevent me from doing anything funny?" Carrie asked.

"Why would I make my Starlet angry with uncomfortable and uncertain demands?" Oh, she was going to love this.

"Oh, I would have thought an Emmy Award-winning director would have an ego the size of the moon, and work hard to keep his reputation?"

She was goading you and you loved it. "Perhaps I can choose unflattering light for scenes, or get angry with you about not doing something right?"

There was something spontaneous about that before Robin came bursting in, with the makeup bib still in his shirt. "Oh my darling, there seems to be an escape from the studio, they are looking for their script!"

He was trying to get you to laugh, but you did. "Alright Robin, thank you. But we're going to do good."

There was a smile. "Thanks, Bruce," He had relaxed his tone. "I'm just… trying to get my head around me being in a picture, rather than on a stage with the liners."

"Well, we have plenty of time to come up with some of them." you said.

But the final person you were waiting for was your father, who was clearly grumpy at his arrival on set. "You should have chosen someone else, Bruce." He said quietly. "I put this life behind me a long time ago."

"Even when you set me off on this path by booting Me with Clint?"

"I trusted Clint, he was a good friend, and he made some great choices, but I don't want this Hollywood dream anymore. I'm only doing this because you offered me a hundred thousand dollars and because Sarah wouldn't let me here the end of this if I didn't come."

You just gave him a hug. "Think of it as a swan song, a final goodbye for good."

"That's the thing Bruce, even if it were, there will be people that will always ask me if I would come back. And I'm not willing to give them that satisfaction." He stated.

Then you just said. "And what if you are wrong? What if you find enjoyment in it again?"

Your father sighed. "I guess we'll just have to wait and see."

As the director, you have the ability to try and shoot the film in whatever style you want it to be:

How do you want to shoot it?
[]One Camera: You want to use one camera to work through the film, taking multiple takes, to get it once. You always found it easier to control, but time-consuming.
[]Multi Camera: You are going to use multiple cameras to get the best shot in any given scene, to give you the best shots. But there is a much easier way to make a mistake.
[]The Oners!: you are going to get as much of the film done in one take as possible. It is considered a highly difficult shooting process. But the results are breathtaking once done.
[]Write in
-------------------------------------

You are the director and have

4 Actions!

[]Falling in Love Again: You and Carrie have a Camera, and you decide to let all the feelings out.

[]Marks Masterful… Mischief: You and Mark just couldn't find a way to do things together… so instead, you found a good way to get the scenes apart. Because you knew what would happen.

[]Michaels's First Job: Mike is not entirely sure of himself before… and you instead took it upon yourself to coach him a little, and make things just a little bit better for him. Get him more comfortable with being in front of the camera.

[]The Legendary Quips of Robin Williams: Robin, hit me with your best shot, and don't worry, the Cameras are rolling.

[]Dad's Destiny: You and Dad are going to talk about his issues. Rather… his issues with being on film again.

[]Debbies Details: You honestly don't know what else to try with Debbie, but you want her opinion on what she would like to do.

[]A Few Problems Less: Gary needs you to help him with some issues with the City of LA… turns out you need to appear for another thing.

[]Five nights and five Dates on Set: George came in with Marcia, and there was something that just made you feel fuzzy. And Carrie knew it.

AN: enjoy and vote in plan format please.

[X]The Oners!: you are going to get as much of the film done in one take as possible. It is considered a highly difficult shooting process. But the results are breathtaking once done.

If we get some okmeka support this could work wonderfuly

Michael Bay style, obviously Magoose.
YES YES YES!!!!

...Sorry, let my MIchael Bay inner fan loose for a moment. I was thinking, can we do it in one continuous shot? Sort of like how they di it in that one film with Michael Keaton; Birdman I think they called it, or the UNexpected Virtue of Ignorance.

Can we do it like that, or do we need more money for it?

Isn't that what Oners means? Or am I misunderstanding this?

@Magoose Just to confirm this will be the only turn dedicated to production right?

For me I figure the main priority should be tackling issues with Dad and Carrie since this is a romance film. Really want to include George and Marcia but we might have to sacrifice that to do other important stuff.

Also I'm not really a fan of the one-shot. Pretty cool technique but a bit far too ambitious for Bruce's first major motion picture behind the chair.

and I'm not saying that they aren't just that-

I'm not saying that I don't like it, but I have been rather clear about making movie or TV pitches about existing Video game franchises...

Not that I don't like them, but because I still want all of them to exist without us directly making them, robbing them of the things that I like about them.

Though perhaps I am being a little too restrictive of it.

PErhaps not, I made that rule when I was getting lots of stuff about people making popular pitches by just creating IRL products and then coming up with new ones... I remember Otto wanting desperately for us to make sponge bob and I kept saying no.

seeing as that spam has now been done or rather decreased, I may reconsider it though.

If only because a lot of these are more high effort than in the past.
As I said, I got inspired by listening to the song Bubble again and then I was off. Was thinking about how fitting it'd be as a period piece and the fact that Kiryu and Majima's voice actors look disturbingly like their characters. Plus, this would have to wait till the 80s for them both to be old enough for it anyway, but then they'd perfectly fit as Kiryu and Majima were in their 20s during the 80s.

This descended into the idea of Bruce teaching them how to fight to fit their characters, and them being young enough to really pull it off. And long story short, I really enjoyed making the idea. I'm more in it just to see if it could be made a reality. But again, as you said, people spamming real-life franchises and products is a damper on everyone.

So I think when it comes down to it these are the actions that I think we should pursue for the plan but I'm unsure of what to do for the final draft. As I said before, doing one-take is way too ambitious for Bruce without great buffs to Directing which we don't unfortunately have in nat stats or omake bonuses. So I want to do one camera or multi camera but I'm unsure of which is better. Also the five options are definitely great but I'm unsure of what to take out. Leaning between Few Problems Less and Five Dates on Set. Hopefully the problems aren't going to be terrible and Gary can be fine on their own. And George and Marcia technically isn't necessary but I love the fluff potential and think it can help us in the romance, but am worried of low roll.

Falling in Love Again and Five Nights and Five Dates on Set both seem to involve fluff with Carrie but the latter also benefits our relationship with George which has been strained lately as well as giving him an opportunity to destress from all that has been going on. I think it's rather clear that Falling in Love Again is redundant and unnecessary in the face of Five Nights and Five Dates on Set.

[X] Plan Five Dates, Five Actions
-[X]One Camera: You want to use one camera to work through the film, taking multiple takes, to get it once. You always found it easier to control, but time-consuming.
-[X]Michaels's First Job: Mike is not entirely sure of himself before… and you instead took it upon yourself to coach him a little, and make things just a little bit better for him. Get him more comfortable with being in front of the camera.
-[X]Dad's Destiny: You and Dad are going to talk about his issues. Rather… his issues with being on film again.

Okay so with some aid from Zade I think I got an idea. Overall prefer One Camera as that's the safest option and won't cause a mess in the editing room. At worse we'll do two months for production instead of one. This is Michael's first acting gig so let's support him and make him comfortable. Critical Papa Goose support to help him get comfortable and restore his love for acting. Sort out whatever the hell's going on with LA. Then some nice George and Marcia fluff and hopefully fluff with Carrie.

Would welcome Omake support or alternate stuff, will definitely try to pump a few Omakes out.

I was also thinking of adding a gag after the establishing fight against goons for both Kiryu and Majima where they absolutely destroy them. From that point on, throughout the rest of the movie, rather than recording more fight scenes with goons, just have it be Kiryu/Majima walking through with a pile of comatose and beaten thugs just surrounding them during jumpcuts and other similar things.
