Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Sweet Jesus.

I don't think I can compete with that power.

Edit: yeah I'm about 3/4th as powerful as you my friend.

Yours is active and consistent because you're running multiple quests.

Mine is just there because the will to write quests and such is low enough after the disaster of the Windows 11 upgrade and me losing notes before that.

So what you're saying is, drop all my quests with no explanation and soon my powers will grow? :V

No.

Consistent rolling and statistics will do.

Hell, I can't explain why this happens to me. I wasn't expecting to be the next iteration of Sage Dice when I began Tropico Quest.

I was on the verge of giving up because of having problems on how to give awesome blurbs matching the rolls until Somebodynobody10 and Poliamida encouraged me to go with the flow and keep the crack absurdism flowing.

Edit: Also, what was the roll for?

So something I want to ask Questers before the next turn is what we should do in regards to this choice:

[]A Plan for the Future: Carrie was sitting next to you. And she asked what you wanted to do. DC: 0 (Write in below what you want to do in the next five years)

I haven't picked it up until now because all the other Carrie options did a pretty good job in covering their relationship and pretty much answered most of Bruce's needs. Right now they seem pretty covered on their marriage with the last and biggest hurdle in children being taken care of since Carrie is going to take a few years to be ready and Bruce is completely happy and willing to wait until she is. Plus I feel like career-wise, Bruce has got a pretty good and solid plan; develop Lucasfilms to its greatest potential and make a couple of his movies, along with maybe boxing success and further charity activism. We could share this with Carrie, but she probably already has a good idea.

@Magoose What exactly is the point of this action? Is it to give Bruce some sort of agenda where if he meets the goals he lays forth he gets bonuses? Or is it to share his goals with Carrie so she can support him and vice versa with Carrie sharing her goals that Bruce can support?

If we want to pursue this, then January of 1975 is a good start date since that gives us five exact years til the start of the 80's.

Goal and agenda for himself and Carrie which if you complete will grant huge roll bonuses.

So this is just regarding our goal for the next five years.

…working on our film studios? Get it off the ground to the point we can rub it in the other studios face?

Well since one of the voting options is modeling for Gucci I wonder if we could somehow butterfly the murder of Maurizio in the future.

It could work but we're gonna need a plot as someone just wandering the backrooms Isn't very intriguing even with the things that lurk there.

The person trapped could stumble on a series of clues from other people who fell into the backrooms, with some messages being vague of successful and unsuccessful attempts of getting back to reality while being hunted. It turns the movie into a conspiracy/thriller/horror movie...?

Maybe throw in some characters who have been in there longer than the main character, and someone who fell into the backrooms early in the second act?

Huh. Interesting fact, apparently in the first season of MASH, Sylvester Stallone played a background soldier.

Kinda weird how his life is interconnected with Goose's and they've never met. Stallone was on MASH, he got the inspiration for Rocky from Goose's boxing match, and he is getting his movie funded out of pocket by O'Brian.

It's just quite weird to think about how TTL Stallone thinks about Bruce.

What's the saying: everyone knows one another with six degrees of separation?

That is playing in spades for Sly and Bruce.

And Then, Things Happened. Turn 37 (January 1975)
And Then, Things Happened. Turn 37 (January 1975)

Roll: 100

You awoke to a phone call from Mike, who was obviously under quite a lot of excitement. "Bruce get up, come on, wake up!"

Carrie was jolted awake from your sudden movements and the phone speaker. "Okay, I'm up, what's wrong?" You looked at the clock. "It's seven in the morning."

"Turn on the TV." He said.

You and Carrie looked at each other, and then you walked over and turned on the TV.

"Breaking News from the LA Area, Hollywood Screen Actors, Screenwriter and Producers Guild representatives have all but said that the Strike, planned at the beginning of November of 1974, has stopped all production of over 300 films and TV shows. The Guild has released a statement that 'The Current Studio heads had violated several contracts for numerous films that were released earlier this year, as well as trying to influence awards for Television, and films.'"

You looked at the phone and then said. "Mike… What happened?"

"Seems someone pissed off the unions enough to stop all of Hollywood." you could feel the smile on his face. "Don't worry, the union already stopped by and gave a run around on what we're doing, and found that we were in compliance… and the only one who hadn't broken so many rules that are going to start a lawsuit."

"What rules were broken?" You asked, still trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

"You'll see it in the paper tomorrow. But remember all those films everyone was trying to make to release next year?" You again could hear laughter.

"Yeah?"

"They've been delayed. And Alan Called, seems we're going to see him around the office more often if this deal works out."

Reward: All of Hollywood is on Strike, and the studios have all but shut down for… the foreseeable future.

Except it seems Lucasfilms. Because you're only working on two films.

MASH's Production will wrap with only a half season (two turns).

Lucille is trying to figure out what the hell is going on, and who was the idiot at the other companies who kicked the hornet's nest.

Edit:

+30 to Audience and Critic rolls for all movies released until December of 1977.

Increase profits by a factor of 2.

Meaning the profit roll will be multiplied.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Production Actions:

(Choose 3)

[]The contract for This Season: It seems Lucille wants to enter another round of contract negotiations. Okay? DC: ???

[]The New People in Camp: So there are new people in Camp, that is going to be awesome. DC: 50

[]The Best of Times, and the Swift of Times: Loretta is one of the people who just work with you, and you were quiet and happy that she was not joining the others in hazing you on set. In fact, she was clearly distressed at some of the signs that others were taking things too far. Especially to a young man. DC: 20

[]Work on your Comedy: This, looking at the first draft of the scripts, is a comedy series. And while you are a good actor, you know you are not good at comedy, even if your timing has gotten better. DC: 20

[]Work with the Writers: You want to see what the writers cooked up. DC: 0 (You can write in an idea below, that will make it into the script)

[]Ask to direct an Episode: You have no experience, practically or otherwise, to direct an episode. But what you have is the ability of an actor's perspective. That will be something that will be amazing to show off. DC: 50

You have 5 Actions

That moment when someone at the studios pissed off all three Hollywood unions so much, they shut down the American Film and TV industry.

Leaving it wide open for some Lucas film boys to swoop in. :V
