Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

And Then, Things Happened. Turn 37 (January 1975)
And Then, Things Happened. Turn 37 (January 1975)

Roll: 100

You awoke to a phone call from Mike, who was obviously under quite a lot of excitement. "Bruce get up, come on, wake up!"

Carrie was jolted awake from your sudden movements and the phone speaker. "Okay, I'm up, what's wrong?" You looked at the clock. "It's seven in the morning."

"Turn on the TV." He said.

You and Carrie looked at each other, and then you walked over and turned on the TV.

"Breaking News from the LA Area, Hollywood Screen Actors, Screenwriter and Producers Guild representatives have all but said that the Strike, planned at the beginning of November of 1974, has stopped all production of over 300 films and TV shows. The Guild has released a statement that 'The Current Studio heads had violated several contracts for numerous films that were released earlier this year, as well as trying to influence awards for Television, and films.'"

You looked at the phone and then said. "Mike… What happened?"

"Seems someone pissed off the unions enough to stop all of Hollywood." you could feel the smile on his face. "Don't worry, the union already stopped by and gave a run around on what we're doing, and found that we were in compliance… and the only one who hadn't broken so many rules that are going to start a lawsuit."

"What rules were broken?" You asked, still trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

"You'll see it in the paper tomorrow. But remember all those films everyone was trying to make to release next year?" You again could hear laughter.

"Yeah?"

"They've been delayed. And Alan Called, seems we're going to see him around the office more often if this deal works out."

Reward: All of Hollywood is on Strike, and the studios have all but shut down for… the foreseeable future.

Except it seems Lucasfilms. Because you're only working on two films.

MASH's Production will wrap with only a half season (two turns).

Lucille is trying to figure out what the hell is going on, and who was the idiot at the other companies who kicked the hornet's nest.

Edit:

+30 to Audience and Critic rolls for all movies released until December of 1977.

Increase profits by a factor of 2.

Meaning the profit roll will be multiplied.

Beginning A True Pre Prodcution Turn 37 Results (January-Febuary 1975)
[X]The contract for This Season: It seems Lucille wants to enter another round of contract negotiations. Okay? DC: ??? Rolled:D100 => 4

When you came to the contract negotiation, there was a great stone wall in the way that made you realize just how serious the entire situation was.

The Union actively forbade you from seeking negotiations without their permission. And Lucille couldn't try to get you to meet her because it would not only be a violation of her own membership, but it would also keep you from working.

And any attempt to negotiate, or to change would have to be approved by the union, who were now seemingly in civil war with the studios and TV stations.

Critical failure: It seems that the whole situation in Hollywood has bled over into some very… hectic situations.

Your contract after this season is considered suspended, perhaps even terminated.

Possibly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]The New People in Camp: So there are new people in Camp, that is going to be awesome. DC: 50 Rolled:D100 => 98

The Two members of the Staff joining you were, without question people you honestly didn't know how to react to.

But they did, however, join the cast warmly because honestly, they knew that this set was being run by professionals. And had a fair few professionals as well.

Mike Farrel, the man who was playing the new doctor to replace Wayne, was warmly greeted, and he greeted you with enthusiasm and grace. He was very happy to just be working on a very popular program, as well as even working with you.

That was honestly something you never really expected. Being treated as the superior on set. But you guessed time on set was obviously an advantage.

The other person on set, one that you had a lot more respect for, was Harry Morgan, the man who would be taking over as the on-screen officer. He had an air of grace, and experience that was honestly something you had never seen before. He was a consummate professional, and someone who was just all around… really good to have around.

And they took to you well like a duck to Water.

The last person on set was Jaimie Farr, one of the guest and supporting roles that didn't have a place every episode, but was around the set more often enough.

He was just great fun to have around, and it was funny when you tried to have the costuming department allow you to try on one of the dresses for a prank.

They told you no. If only because there was not a dress in your size, nor would there be one that could be not specially made in time.

Which was a crying shame.

Reward: You met the new cast members. And everyone was happy to meet you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]The Best of Times, and the Swift of Times: Loretta is one of the people who just work with you, and you were quiet and happy that she was not joining the others in hazing you on set. In fact, she was clearly distressed at some of the signs that others were taking things too far. Especially to a young man. DC: 20 Rolled:D100 => 19

Loretta was unhappy about the whole strike, and was just unhappy in general with the whole situation.

You wanted to talk about it, but she instead just said that everything was going to be alright.

Failure.
-------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Distributing Deals: Since you have a Distribution Company, or rather, are one… You can meet the major movie theater companies and strike a Deal with them. Even when you had really nothing to offer them. DC: ???
--[X] Godzilla vs Gigan. Rolled:D100 + 10 => 65

Continued in Godzilla vs Gigan
----------------------------------------------
-[X]A Plan for the Future: Carrie was sitting next to you. And she asked what you wanted to do. DC: 0 (Write in below what you want to do in the next five years)
--[X] Direct and Produce a film that you wrote.
--[X] Win an Olympic Medal for Boxing
--[X] Develop Lucasfilms to become a successful studio with multiple films.
--[X] Have a child. Stress to Carrie that you are more than content with her current timeframe and will happily wait for as long as she needs to become ready.
--[X] Ask Carrie what she wants to do and promise to support her in whatever she desires.

"I get almost all of this." Carrie looked at the list and didn't feel very comfortable with the second to last line. "Is that really what you want?"

"Think of it as just a wish, one that we both have to agree to try." You said with a smile. There was almost an air of wispy ness that you both had. "I'm going to the Olympics in a year, and I'm still working with George… Why not make some goals that just… I want to have, even if they won't come true."

Carrie just sighed. "I don't want to be forced to-"

"What about this makes you think that I'm going to force you to do anything?" You asked.

Carrie was quiet. "I… I just…" She paused, thinking. "I just don't want to be the one who has to be asked."

"I know." You said. "Think of that last one as the great… question mark we have. The one we don't have to answer until we want it to be answered. That you want to be answered."

Reward: Carrie and you discuss… and she agrees with all the goals… though she is a bit hesitant on the last two. Even with the trust… she still feels… unsure. And frightened.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]A Strange Deal: Alan Ladd Jr, has a deal he wants to make. Rolled:D100 => 80

The Deal felt too good to be true.

(Continued in: Alan's Deal)
----------------------------------------------------
-[X]And The Great Friendship Between Debbie Reynolds and Clint Eastwood: You never expected Clint and Debbie to actually spend time together as friends. Isn't that surprising? DC: 30 Rolled:D100 => 36

When you arrived, you were almost… shocked that they were getting along, sitting at the chairs by the pool watching the kids play. It was honestly quite… refreshing seeing Debbie in such a state of calm after so much…

And Clint just surprised you by even having her over. "Ah Bruce, you came." Debbie said with a smile. "Well, since the strike is going on, I haven't had much to do lately, but play cards with Clint and practice my singing."

"Good to see you." You sat down as you looked at Clint. "So… The Outlaw Josey Wales? Couldn't spring me a part?"

"I don't think you would look good in a cowboy hat." Clint joked. "Not like your father anyhow." He then sighed. "But really, the strike might be a good thing for this one. The Director was an ass, and I took over. We'll get it done, and it should be released by 76. If I can get the crew on board. Breaking ranks is never a good thing on a strike, but they got families to feed, and I promised them I'd get it done."

"You don't think the strike is a good thing?" You asked.

Debbie shook her head. "It's always a good thing, when done for the right reasons… but this… this is something that has been brewing for a long time."

"Before my time?" You asked.

"Since Hollywood was founded. Always the old versus the new. And the old never gives up without a fight." Clint replied. "Maybe it's just me, but I think that those running the show, those suits, have forgotten what Art is, and don't know how to recapture magic."

"But Hollywood is in the end, a business." You stated.

"Indeed. I just hope it ends soon, or we might be seeing something go horribly wrong. Or all of us being out of a job." Clint muttered. "So… How's Carrie?"

"Doing fine Clint, though, I can't blame her for being restless, she wants to get back to work, but with the strike going on, she's looking for something to do?"

"Maybe she can come by and babysit my kids, I could use a day off." Clint joked.

"Clint!" Debbie said his name, though part joking part serious. There was almost nothing to really tell. But they enjoyed each other. Which was more than you could say for Debbie with any other person. "Though in saying that. Bruce, I think Todd has something to show you later. At the house."

"I'll look at it." You replied.

But now, it was a good time to enjoy her company.

Reward: Clint and Debbie are truely great friends it seems, though they have been trying to stay busy with the strike stopping them from getting a lot of work.
-------------------------------
-[X]Investments: You want to invest your hard-earned cash into something that you feel will be a good return on investment. And as well as diversify your assets DC: 0 (Linetail what you wish to invest in below this action, and the amount of money you want to invest in)

Mister Lee was refused his price, and he quickly, and quietly, and politely, dropped off the project.

Alan’s Deal
Alan's Deal:

You were with Mike at the Office, and that was perhaps the only good thing that you could really say about the whole thing. There were quite a few things that were here, but you knew that Mike was going to be instrumental in helping out with many things about to happen.

Yet you wanted to listen with the metaphorical devil on your shoulder this time. George wasn't here to be an angel. And honestly, you didn't want him to be here for this.

"Alright Alan. We're here, and we're waiting on that deal." You said.

Alan was waiting, but he was also taking in the room, trying to find the correct words that he needed. But then he just sighed. "Well, seems I won't be able to win this one in the way I desire."

"How so?" Mike asked.

Alan leaned in. "Well there is always the simple fact that the strike has left me with almost no options to work with, the entire film industry is shut down except for the studio that is run by mavericks, who think they know better. And honestly, with that kind of arrogance…" There was a smile. "I wouldn't bet against it."

"Meaning?" You asked.

"I'll cut to the chase then." Alan then leaned back. "My company has a few scripts, and we have been trying to gather a certain amount of people under contract to make them. We don't have money, we don't have time, and now we don't have other studios to turn to to give ourselves leverage."

"Win-win," Mike muttered. "So what is the deal?"

Alan sighed. "We need twenty million dollars to produce our films, and we are offering. 30% of the gross on all the films, producer credits, all that award bait-"

"Make it 50," Mike said. "We don't need to lose in this affair. And what about rights to merchendising and advertising."

"That might not be your call to make." Alan turned to face you.

That was why he wanted you to be here, instead of just facing off against Mike alone. Damn.

What do you do?:

[]Let Mike Work: You're going to let Mike make the moves here, as you don't know how to do this.

[]Make a counteroffer (Linetail your offer below this one)

[]Accept Alan's Offer: Something tells you that this is going to work out.

AN: enjoy.

Star Wars Production 1
Star Wars Production 1:

You and George were sitting on the plane, trying to get some sleep on the Transatlantic flight, but you were not exactly feeling tired. In fact, you were getting nothing in the way of sleep. Tunisia was something you were going to be happy to see, because flying for so long was honestly such a pain, that you just wanted to get off the darn plane and get on with it.

The Desert was going to be preferable to this flying. "I told you we should have paid for better seats." You stated as you looked up towards first class. "But no, we had to save money."

George sighed. "Are you still complaining about that? We're doing the fancy traveling for going back home, after production. Think of this as a reward for our long hard work."

"Still think we have the budget for it." You replied. "We've got enough for it."

"You know where most of the budget went, it's going towards-"

"Yes I know, I saw the scenes with the art, and man, am I worried that you might not be able to pull it off."

"You don't trust everyone at ILM?" He asked.

"I trust them to screw around and spend months working on a figurine dogfight show?" You replied, remembering the first time George used them for. "I just think they might not be able to stay focused when you aren't there."

"I'm just one phone call away." He replied with a smile. "Besides, it's not like we'll have any problems."

"Sweet God Geroge, please don't say that. That will only lead to disaster." You replied.

"Might as well get it out of the way early." He smiled.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Production Problems?:D100 => 7

You looked out the window to see Rain.

RAIN! In the Sahara!

"Don't say it." George stated as he looked at the pelting rain going on the hotel window, with the water flowing down the street.

"You just had to say it, George." You muttered. "You had to say it."

"At least the rain will end in a few days." He stated. "And we didn't even begin constructing the sets yet… so is it really a huge problem?"

"Yes, we're going to be behind!" You replied.

"Just accept the fact that we're going to be on nature's time." He replied as he chuckled.

You both just sat down, coffee still steaming upwards from their cups, and you both toasted. "Well, it can't get any worse."

"Here's to things not getting any worse." He replied.
--------------------------------------------------------

What do you do:

You have 3 Actions

[]The Master: Mifune was having trouble talking to people on set, and his interpreter was not helping him that much getting the nuances of the pranks you were doing. Or rather, why you did do them in the first place with George?

[]Mark the Hero: Mark is kinda… well he's nervous, while he does not know about much of the story, he's adamant about trying to make it work. Though there is a problem. He isn't getting into the script.

[]The Set in the Desert: You are going to help on the set, perhaps just to make George's life a little bit easier.

[]Some Last Minute Script Changes: You need to talk to George about some of the dialogue that is there. Or just something that needs to be changed (Linetail to expand what you want to change)

[]Out in the Desert: You look at the desert and want to make sure that everyone is okay.

[]Peter Diamond and the Stunts here: Peter is a master stuntman, and someone you have learned to admire, but you both know that the stunt planned is dangerous, and you both want to practice it, to make sure it gets done right.

AN: enjoy and vote in plan format please.

Star Wars Production 2
[X]The Master: Mifune was having trouble talking to people on set, and his interpreter was not helping him that much getting the nuances of the pranks you were doing. Or rather, why you did do them in the first place with George? Rolled: D100 => 91

(Note, The Following conversation will take place entirely in Japanese, but written in English)

You knocked on the door to Mifune's room and were… very unsure how to really think about it. He seemed nice enough, a consummate professional, as well as clearly being someone who works very hard on the script to make sure he sounded… Well, good.

Yet it was a stunning surprise that he answered the door, and seemed… well he seemed troubled. "Hello Mister Mifune." You said quietly with a small bow. "You didn't seem very happy after today's… shoot. Are you alright?"

"Strangeness." He then coughed. "I apologize but I find it strange that you are so disrespectful to your director."

"I am one of the producers, and I work very hard to make sure he doesn't go crazy."

Mifune raised an eyebrow. "Go Crazy?"

"George has a habit of overworking, and he needs a way to relieve stress and not worry about everything. It's a thing we do as friends."

He nodded. "So you do it out of a need for… making sure he doesn't go crazy?" He didn't seem to be enthusiastic about that answer. "Why?"

"Because we're friends. And that's what friends do." You stated. "I know that things are different for you in Japan, but, sometimes that's what people need. They just need to remind themselves that, despite the stress, and the things going on around set, they are doing this for passion and experience."

You then paused. "Well, and a big goddamn paycheck."

That earned a rare laugh from the veteran actor. "I know you may think less of us for this… but I guarantee you, that everyone just wants to keep each other happy and sane."

Mifune nodded, and you bowed. "I hope that-"

"It does." He replied.
----

A Few days later, you realized that George was feeling much less stressed out. And Mifune was joining in on the fun, as well as feeling comfortable enough to bring his own suggestions for his character.

Reward:

Mifune will gain an additional +30 to his rolls for SP and Chemistry.

George is happy that he is voicing his opinion on set, to bring his experience on set.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Mark the Hero: Mark is kinda… well he's nervous, while he does not know about much of the story, he's adamant about trying to make it work. Though there is a problem. He isn't getting into the script. Rolled:D100 => 100

Mark was not doing well on set, the heat of the desert was not something that he was feeling well. And the fact was, he was intimidated by the truly incredible talent you and Mifune were showing, carrying entire scenes with little to not present.

And honestly… There were some good things about it, he was feeling comfortable… but he was getting to the point where something was not there.

He was being undercut. He was not at his best.

And that was not acceptable to you. "Mark, can we talk?" You asked as you walked into his room.

"Yeah." He said, tired and a little irritated. "What's wrong?"

He was quiet, dare you say, he was… demoralized. "Why the hell am I here?"

"Pardon?" You asked.

"I mean why the hell would you, George, or anyone else even see me as a hero? Hell, you're a hero because you actually help people."

You raised an eyebrow. Ah… "You know Mark, you wanna know why I choose you out of everyone else?" You stated.

"Why?" He asked.

"Because honestly, everyone else didn't seem true enough. They may have thought that the script was silly and just a quick payday. I know you did. But you tried, damn you impressed me, in a way that few people that I had auditioned had for you."

You leaned forward. "You impressed me, because you looked at that script and hated it, but still gave it a shot."

That made Mark smile. "George's first draft was terrible."

"It was, it really was." You said. "But here is the thing. I know you can be the hero that I saw in you for the camera… maybe other people will see it too."
-------------------------------------

Mark gave it his all the next day… And every day after.

Reward: +50 to Marks Chemistry and SP.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Peter Diamond and the Stunts here: Peter is a master stuntman, and someone you have learned to admire, but you both know that the stunt planned is dangerous, and you both want to practice it, to make sure it gets done right. Rolled:D100 => 96+30=126

"I don't know." You said to Peter as you both looked at the setup for the stunt. "You could hurt yourself if you don't land properly. The rocks pretty hard."

"I know, but it's safer than the alternative." He said. "Think about this. I hit the rifle, and it breaks in half, that debris, can possibly make me slip and fall, and the rock isn't the best place for a hard landing."

"We could have a crash pad. Anything to prevent you from having to take that fall." You stated.

"Not with this setup, too low of an angle. We're going to need to keep it away." He said.

Then you looked at the camera position. "Wait, yes we can." You said as you looked at the tripod and several loose stones. "We can use these rocks as a base, then the pad is out of view. Extra safety at no cost."

Than Peter smiled. "You ever do any stunt work?"

"I'm a second unit director on occasion for TV." You replied. "Mostly a lot of fight scenes."

"Well, you certainly have a knack for it." He replied.
----------------------------

The day of the stunt, was no problems at all.

Peter was excellent… probably saved several days of shooting because you got the scene in almost five takes.

Reward: +2 to directing Skill.

+50 to Chorography rolls for everyone.

You and Peter have a fine working relationship.
--------------------------------------

Production Rolls:D100 => 83

You were finally out of that goddamn desert.

Thank goodness that everything went smoothly after the rain fell.

He then looked at you with a small whisper. "We've got some more shooting to do in the Desert, Anthony and Kenny arrived along with their costumes."

You hate this damn heat!

What do you do?:

You have 3 actions.

[]Some Last Minute Script Changes: You need to talk to George about some of the dialogue that is there. Or just something that needs to be changed (Linetail to expand what you want to change)

[]The Blasters, and All who use them: Who taught these people how to hold firearms! They may be props but they should be treated as real to sell the fantasy.

[]George has Some Editing Issues: You know next to nothing about Editing, but George was in a fit because he said. "We need to cut some stuff."

[]The Lightsaber Props: Finally they came in… now to see if they… Why are they so brittle?

[]Anthony and the Golden Plastic: You don't pity him for being in the suit, but something told you that things were going to be very uncomfortable there. Especially with a piece stabbing into his leg that they couldn't fix.

[]Kenny on Wheels: Kenny Backer was the man in the R2 suit, and you honestly wanted to see how it worked.

[]The Set in the Desert: You are going to help on the set, perhaps just to make George's life a little bit easier.

[]Out in the Desert: You look at the desert and want to make sure that everyone is okay.

AN: Enjoy and vote in plan format.

-[X] The Blasters, and All who use them: Who taught these people how to hold firearms! They may be props but they should be treated as real to sell the fantasy. Rolled:D100 => 23+20=43

"I can't see a thing in this helmet!" One of the extras wearing the stormtrooper armor said as he tried to wield his weapon properly. "How the hell are we supposed to sell this if we can't see?"

You looked at the helmet and just sighed. "We're going to need to work on those." You stated as you sighed. "Um, just try you're best."

The Desert was not something you would enjoy being in the armor. Thank god you only had to wear the armor when in Britain.

You would have died if you hadnt.

Failure: Try as they might, the stormtroopers couldn't keep up their ideas while in the scorching hot desert.

They're okay at least.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X] The Lightsaber Props: Finally they came in… now to see if they… Why are they so brittle? Rolled:D100 => 94

You looked at Todd, who was somehow working with some of the other prop masters. "Todd, how did you?"

"These are the lightsaber props that I made with one of the guys, you were all having trouble making them both filmable and able to withstand the punishment that you want to put them through." He smiled.

"How did you manage to make them so strong, after they were so brittle?"

Todd scratched the back of his head. "Well, I used plastic, but I thickened it up so that it wouldn't automatically break, and on the inside, is a single piece of foldable steel, so that in case of the plastic breaks, it can be replaced. The plastic itself will have to be covered with that reflector stuff your propmaster has been talking about, just so it could be filmed."

"It folds?" You asked.

"Yeah." Todd replied with a smile. "What, it seemed like a good idea at the time when I was building them."

You and George looked at each other. "How did you get here anyway, I thought you didn't have a passport?" You asked.

"I got one two months ago, right after you left." He responded.

Reward: The Lightsabers are now stronger, and able to take a hit.

Though they require extensive preparation for the actual lightsaber effect that the ILM magicians require. But this opens up a significant ability for Mifune to utilize his skills in swordsmanship.
----------------------------------------------------

-[X] Out in the Desert: You look at the desert and want to make sure that everyone is okay. Rolled:D100 => 51

You enjoyed walking sound in the desert for two days.

Sure you almost got lost, but you were on set looking for some water.

Reward: You thankfully had a small trek into the desert, and no one was hurt. Or were stupid enough to follow you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Production Roll:D100 => 93-40=53
Directing Roll:D100 => 90+30=120

It was plagued by problems. Problems with Anthony's costume would need to be fixed. The Desert sun was almost impossible to work in, and you had on more than one occasion had to help one of the crew members because of heat stroke or dehydration.

It was almost impossible to get things done now.

Well… You should have learned by now that George Lucas was a master of his Craft, and impossible was just a word to him. That much was plain as day to anyone who knew him, or his work.

Everything was shot and shot twice just for good effort.

And soon you were going to be back in London. To finally shoot in the Death Star.
-----------------------------------------------------

You arrived and were shocked at how Happy George was. "What are you so happy about?" You asked.

"Honestly, I thought this entire Tunisia trip was going to be a disaster?" George laughed. "But, instead it went well."

"Well, let's hope London has enough to serve our purposes." You replied. "Gary said that the studios were not happy with us renting all the spaces for all those days."

"Which ones?" George asked.

"The British productions." You replied.

"We'll be quick, besides, if we have to, I know a place in California that we can renovate into a studio." He replied.

"George now is not the time for changing our minds on the Studio, we don't have the space." You replied. You saw the glint in his eyes.

"Sorry." He replied.
--------------

What do you Do:
(Choose 3)

[]Preparing for The Big Scenes: You are going to get ready for the big shoot-out scenes in the hallway. Everyone is getting a god damn dressing down to make it look good.

[]Carries Oscar Interruption: Carrie asked if she could take a three-day break so that she could appear at the Oscars, seeing as she's nominated for 4 of them.

[]Into the Trash!: Why the hell would George allow this dangerous stunt? Sure you don't see why not, but you want to make sure Mark is okay.

[]The Droids You are Looking For: Anthony and Kenny are trying to make things interesting, and you haven't had a chance to spend time with them to get to know them.

[]The Hero: Mark is slowly getting into his groove, but you wanna know just how it would be for you and him to get along.

[]The Master: Mifune is still trying his best to survive this production. However, there is a small problem. He wants to…visit a Shakespeare company production.

[]There is Underwear in Space George: Carrie has a problem. For the first few days of shooting, she was not able to wear a bra, and it was making her uncomfortable. Hopefully, George can listen to reason.

[]The Swordfighting: George wants to try and make David Prowse try and fence Mifune. You need to tell him that is a terrible idea. Peter is literally there, and while he may not have the size, he has the experience that almost everyone here lacks.

[]Darth Vader's Boots: David Prowse was always going to have trouble in the suit, mostly because he knew his voice was not going to be in the final product. You need to find a way to tell him that it's a damn good thing.

AN: enjoy and vote in plan format please.

-[X]Carries Oscar Interruption: Carrie asked if she could take a three-day break so that she could appear at the Oscars, seeing as she's nominated for 4 of them. Rolled:D100 => 92

To think that George agreed to this, you would have been crazy to allow the two stars of one of the movies you were making to leave for the Oscars. Well, George also knew that this was too damn important to just ignore.

He also had a few ideas to film some scenes while you were gone. The few scenes that didn't involve you and Carrie. Thankfully, they should be enough for him to get through the last bit of the script, and possibly even get the Fight done between Mifune and Prowese… Or Peter if George listened to you about putting an experienced swordsman underneath the Armor.

Sure it might be enough for some of the scenes when they were nearing the end, but the problem was… David was not a swordsman, and he had no desire to learn anything beyond the basics. Which itself was a problem, but one that could be fixed. If David actually accepted that he was just the man in the suit.

But all that was forgotten when you arrived at the red carpet, for the Academy's Oscars. You were nearly blinded by all the flashing cameras and the number of people that wanted autographs. And the number of people from the business that was there.

There may be a strike going on, but even the strike and the studios knew that stopping or delaying the Oscars would not be a good thing. It was too much of a blow for either side to cancel it.

You held Carrie's hand as she squeezed it, as you both waved, walking towards the entrance with so many people taking pictures. "Are you smiling?" She asked.

"Of course." You whispered back, as you both got closer. "I think you're going to blow it all out of the water." You smiled.

"I know, I just can't wait till you're nominated." She said. "It would be nice if we won them both together."

"I don't know, we have quite a long time to do that." You then sighed. "Do you have a screenplay worming in your head?"

"Not yet, but I can think of a way for one to appear." She then stood on her tiptoes and you kissed her.

"I think we've given the press enough for the coming weeks?" You asked. You looked back to see some of the other actors there were not happy with the display of young love.

"I think we have. We're clogging the air." She then held your arm as you took her toward the chambers.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Carrie's Oscar wins:D4 => 3

"And the Oscar for Best Actress Goes To… Carrie O'Brian, For Some Nights!"

"And the Oscar For Best Original Screenplay Goes To Carrie O'Brian. For Some Nights!"

"And the Oscar For Best Original Song Goes To Carrie O'Brian. For Some Nights!"

You then waited for the final nomination that Carrie herself was nominated for, Original Score.

"And the Winner for Best Original Score Goes To… Nino Rota and Carmine Coppola The Godfather Part Two."

Carrie was shocked, but she only smiled and hugged your arm. "You didn't win?" You said quietly.

"I've got enough for me."
---------------------------------------

Best Picture Winner:

Godfather Part 2:D100 => 74+30 (Canon)=104

Some Nights:D100 => 55+45(Universal Fuckery)=100

"And the Oscar for Best Picture Goes to… The Godfather Part Two."

And while Some Nights battled with the Godfather all night… it didn't take the crown of the night.

Reward: Carrie Has won Three Academy Awards, For Best Actress, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Original Song.

John Travolta won the Academy Award for Best Actor.

But the Awards went about as Canon did.
--------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Into the Trash!: Why the hell would George allow this dangerous stunt? Sure you don't see why not, but you want to make sure Mark is okay. Rolled:D100 => 98+30=128

You and Mark were both looking at the dirty, trashy water. "So… what, you're going to make me hold my breath?"

"No. not at all, you are going to hold onto my leg, and if you need help getting up, I will be able to help you without needing to look too hard." You replied.

"I don't see how that is a problem, I'm only going to be under a few feet of water?" Mark replied.

"A few feet of water with trash and metal on top of it." You stated as you pulled a piece of the metal and plastic prop. "What if you hit your head and it knocks you out, and you're stuck underwater? That few feet of water is going to be the death of you. And what if I can't find you If I decide to dive in."

You saw Mark begin to think. "Oh."

"God damn right oh." You responded. "I have been lucky to get training for some of the stunts I do, and I always prepare for them. I never go in halfway, because I can get hurt or worse."

"Didn't you carry people out of the set fire that one time on MASH?" He asked. "I doubt you prepared for that?"

"No, but that was a special circumstance that I never want to have happen to me again." You replied. "So promise me to"

"I will." He replied.

"Good." You replied.

Reward: The Stunt went off without a hitch. And Mark didn't get hurt, save for water in his ear.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]There is Underwear in Space George: Carrie has a problem. For the first few days of shooting, she was not able to wear a bra, and it was making her uncomfortable. Hopefully, George can listen to reason. Rolled:D100 => 69

You looked at George and crossed your arms. "I don't want to do this George, but I have to. Why the hell does Carrie have to wear tape?"

George was looking at something. "Well, there is no underwear in space." He said.

You looked at Carrie, who was giggling before you threw the pair of underwear at him. "Then I will not wear underwear, since clearly it does not exist in your space film! And everyone else will do the same as well."

You then looked at the box you had prepared. "Try keeping the cast around if they can't be comfortable George."

George became visibly embarrassed at that before he looked at you. "Is that?"

"From Everyone. Even Peter, who found it quite amusing when I asked him." You stated. "Sometimes George, sticking to your artistic vision is a good thing. This… is not a hill you want to die on."

He looked at the box. George realized his mistake. "I'll work the script around. Just… don't open the box."

Good.

Reward: There is now underwear in space.

George kinda deserves the prank though.
---------------------------------------------

Production Rolls:D100 - 40 => 33

Well Everything is going smoothly, besides George having to quickly change a few things in the script, and there is a reshoot of the single scene that Carrie was in to allow her to have underwear on, thankfully, one that the costume department came up with.

Director Roll:D100 + 30 => 84

You almost thought that George was losing his touch after he had… been embarrassed by you.

But he managed to keep the schedule. Barely.

Thankfully, just because he was able to rest, and there were so many fun things to do.

And while he never did any fights before… he had some masters helping him making it easier.
------------------------------------

The Stunt Rolls:D100 + 30+30 => 155

You actually told George that you wanted to take over for the stunts behind the camera. Mostly to make sure everyone stayed safe.

After Peter almost tore his pants during the testing of crossing the beam, you both made some adjustments so that Make wouldn't notice.

And then, you had your moments of making sure both of them were going to be okay with it.

The Rope swing was perfect. Even if you wanted Carrie to shoot the blaster with her eyes open, that might have helped. But she was trying her best.
-----------------------------------------------------------

The Hallway Fight:D100 + 30 + 50 => 180

You thanked God that George listened to you about putting Peter in the suit for the fight. David might have been angry about it for a moment before he saw the fight that the two of them had trained for a month on.

A symphony of violence, control, and rage. Mifune showed just how much of a master he was, and Peter… you would argue he was one of the greatest swordsmen alive, and it was a pleasure to watch him do his work.

You may not have ever seen an action movie like this… but you were sure that you would love to see it fully edited.

Reward: You have a legendary fight on your hands.

[]The Princess: Carrie just had one more scene before she was sent back home, with all of them done. She just wanted to make it right.

"Okay, why with our eyes open, the lights that will flash are too bright." Mark asked.

"And really, being this far away from each other, why?

"That's the entire point of the flash at the barrel. It's to simulate being shot at by lasters." You replied as you looked at Peter. "Help me out here Peter?"

"I don't think I can be of any help, I'm not the best at the whole explaining how props work, and John is on his only day off for the shoot, only the armorer is here to make sure the weapons were clear before they are handed out." He replied. "So, just wing it."

"Lets do this." You smile as you looked at the blaster, and made sure it was handled safely. "We only get one shot at this."

Reward: an additional +20 to the Stunt rolls.
---------------------------------------------------------

-[X]The Master: Mifune is still trying his best to survive this production. However, there is a small problem. He wants to…visit a Shakespeare company production. Rolled:D100 => 92

It was almost too much to say that missing a day of shooting would have pissed George off. He only had a few scenes left, and he wanted to get them done before you all went for the final scenes at Guatamala. It was truly something that was fun, and exciting.

So, out of your own pocket, you allowed Mifune to get a showing of the Royal Shakespeare Company. The Tale of Macbeth. The Scottish Play itself.

He was moved to tears by the gesture, and you and all the cast and crew, got a day off, watching the masters of Shakespeare show their talents.

It was truly one of the best moments of the entire production, not because of Mifune's love of Shakespeare and George's acceptance that keeping the man he wanted as Obi-Wan happy was a good thing…

And Mifune shinned through his final scenes.

Reward: +50 to Mifunes SP, and +40 to Chemistry.
---------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Darth Vader's Boots: David Prowse would always have trouble in the suit, mostly because he knew his voice would not be in the final product. You need to find a way to tell him that it's a damn good thing. Rolled:D100 => 50

It was not a long conversation that was to say the least.

He wanted to have a place, a voice even. That was taken away from him.

All you said was just what he needed to hear.

"You are going to last forever Darth Vader. Who cares if it's your voice or not? Without you, Vader is just a voice by James. With you, he's a menace that can never be stopped."

It did well you suppose. You don't know what the rest would be… but hey. That was for him to decide.

Reward: +20 to Prowse SP.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Production Rolls:D100 => 96-30=66

You were honestly kinda surprised it took this long. The end of production was always going to be the hard part. Everyone was going home after their parts, and George was trying to coordinate with Gary and Mike to make sure everything was going on schedule.

It was honestly the hardest part. Sending everyone back and making sure everything was okay.

You knew that he wanted to make sure everything was right, and didn't make him feel good.

Yet he was okay. Mostly. He was just a little tense.

Just a little more than usual.

Reward: -5 to Director Roll next turn.
-----------------------------------------------------

Director Rolls:D100 + 30 => 111

Yet with great adversity and tenseness, comes great Art. George was dialed in.

He knew exactly what he wanted, and by god was he going to get it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Hallway Shootout:D100 + 20 + 30 => 79

Honestly, not the best. You knew it.

George knew it.

Everyone knew it. But you didn't have much of a choice now. It was too much.

Time was running out, and you had what George wanted.

It wasn't what you wanted of course, but dammit, you just didn't get it.

Reward: It went about as well as Canon did.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Final Weeks were in Guatemala.
(Choose 3)

[]The Final Day: You set down the Camera and looked at George, to ask him "Are you okay?"

[]The Droids You are Looking For: Anthony and Kenny are trying to make things interesting, and you haven't had a chance to spend time with them to get to know them.

Star Wars Production Finale:

-[X]The Final Day: You set down the Camera and looked at George, to ask him "Are you okay?" Rolled:D100 => 100

George was sitting near the end of the steps, and he watched everyone leave for the plane to take them home.

You and George both looked at each other and then you smiled. "You okay?" You asked.

"I thought that I was going to hate every moment of this." He said. "But I didn't."

"How so?"

"Everyone believed in it. I believe in it, and I think that was what mattered. I wasn't seen as crazy for… having faith in my own worth."

"Oh don't be sap George." You smiled. "I had faith. So… you were never in this alone."

George gave you a hug, and you returned it.

Reward: George has gotten through a stress-free (mostly) Production.

And it's going to be a wonderful thing to go home.

Unknown Effect on George. But expect him to take the reigns in the next film... possibly.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]The Droids You are Looking For: Anthony and Kenny are trying to make things interesting, and you haven't had a chance to spend time with them to get to know them. Rolled:D100 => 20

Failure.

"Mom's sick, don't know what it is, going home early to make sure she's okay, and make sure Todd is okay.

I'll see you soon.

This is Not Okay Turn 38 (August 1975)
You looked at Carrie and the people in the hospital room and were utterly shocked at what you had just heard. "Who shot her?" You demanded as you looked at the doctors and the police officers there. "What did they take?"

"They stole several items of interest, a few costumes that were in packing boxes being ready to transport for display, several props from movies…" The man droned on, going through the list of the tens of thousands of dollars worth of memorabilia that was stolen. You had almost forgotten about the list when they reached the end, and the man said. "Mr. O'Brian?" The officer seemed to realize you were enraged, and you could feel blood dripping down your hands.

"Who shot her?" You demanded.

"We still don't know." The officer replied as they saw Carrie holding her mother's hand in the hospital room, while Todd was stoically beside his sister, hugging her as she wept. "All we know is that her son was the one who called, and that is possibly the only reason she is still alive."

You then felt a listful silence lull over you as you just walked into the hospital room, and you could see everyone was looking towards you, realizing that you had entered the room with a very… dramatic entrance.

"Is she going to make it?" You asked.

The doctor, and the surgeon both looked at each other, and they both looked down. "She will make it. The bullets missed all the major organs…"

The two men were silent again, for a brief moment. "There will be scaring in her arms and chest from the bullet wounds. And she will have to remain in the hospital for several weeks while she recovers. But we have high hopes that she will make a full recovery."

There was silence between everyone.

You only looked out and saw the sadness.

And you didn't know what to do at all.
