When the costs are over $100 per person, not sure that's a workable solution.

These are people who consider a five course meal a "light snack" and eat 32 oz steaks on a stick as fast-food afterall.
Right, except this is a problem unique to tournaments how? If you assume the Saiyans can pay for their food at all, they can afford to pay for their food That Happens To Be At A Tournament.

*points above* The assumption being, from what I can tell from Simons post, is that the tournament organiser pays for the food and drink. Or at the very least, is the one in charge of ponying up the initial capitol to get it all to sell.

This may be the single greatest quest I've yet read. The combination of faithful DBZness with the fresh mix of social and political elements... it shouldn't work as well as it does, which frankly speaks to Poptart's skill as a writer. Mad props.

If all Saiyans are paying much greater expenses in food then they must all have greater income then the average. Is their a secret Saiyans staffing office making sure that no one that can blow up the world is poor or desperate?

-->That question.
-->My pay grade.
Ginyu's body swap beam doesn't affect power levels. We know this because he used it regularly in canon to change with anyone who had higher power, to build his massive strength, which made him infamous. This should mean ki isn't tied to the soul, but to the life force of the body making it. What is tied to the soul are techniques, which Ginyu couldn't use in Goku's body because he didn't know them. It's also why keeping your body when you die is a big deal. You get to take your ki with you to Otherworld instead of being one of those dead spirit blobs.

Nice logic, and I'm pretty sure that's what Poptart will go with now that you've done all the work for him :V

except we see souls that have the same power level as their body.

Or that Souls of powerfull ki users bring their bodies along.
And not just in the "get to keep the body" sense, Frieza and several of his minions kept their body, despite their being no reason to do so. You might argue that it was an additional level of punishment for Frieza, but that doesn't explain his minions. We know it can be affected by your personality, whether your godly or demonic, has multiple different components and so forth. We also know that if you dump everything into it, your body becomes a non-reactive material. And considering it seems to intersect/interact with every other type of ability...

And we know from statements by Poptart that Ki has mental and spiritual components, which also fits with statements from Toriyama.

Wasn't it mentioned that one of the tasks sorcerers have is helping with food production so that they could meet saiyan demand? I would think that food is either cheaper or subsided in saiyan society.

I didn't hear about that. I don't know how that would work with the Vegtans having almost no sorcerers.
