I am not having fun anymore.
I am sorry for that, my friend. Just try not to drag everyone else into it, you know? Maybe take 5, drink some water...

This game is actually really hard! Remember the Sealing? And the Unsealing? And how difficult it seems to win without anyone dying?
I am so tired of losing. Especially after I give it my all.
Yet somehow, no one's died yet. Been horrifically scarred mentally and/or physically? Sure. Died? No one we care about. I'll put it in a different way: I made a plan that potentially let us have 6 wishes instead of 3, and gave us abilities like Time-Freeze. It got shot down, because that wasn't the will of the thread, and you don't see me complaining.

We are all trying our best here, okay? It's uncharitable to everyone else if you make it all about you.

Its not like we've never won. We won at the Council, and with Danzarel. The latter was pretty significant.
Oh yes. They were a lot of fun. But our losses came after we'd tried some pretty good ideas, which does mean the quest is very, very difficult.

Fair enough. But I'm never going to have fun playing if I can't have a significant influence on the results.

You're right, there. I apologize.

Personally, I'm just glad we don't need to worry about Namek getting crushed by seven planet sized orbs. Or torn apart by their potential gravity, considering its not a divine hardened stage.

[X] Plan Kakara Is My Spirit Guide
-[X] Talk to the Guru:
--[X] About Dazarel.
--[X] About the Prophecy.
--[X] About the situation on Garenhuld, at least the same level of information we gave Bassoon.
-[X] Wish (Primary): "I Wish to gain the capability to temporarily manifest a physical body outside my host, which would allow me to use all my power and skills."
-[X] Wish (Backup): "I wish to be able to call upon all of my power while still being a shade."
-[X] Wish (Backup 2): "I wish that my physical body was here on Namek, freed of any spellwork other then the Masque."

Black Skies
Bassoon stares down at the dragon balls with a look of enraptured glee on his face. "These are the holiest items on Namek," he breathes.

'They are slave collars with a polished sheen,' sneers Dazarel.

"Silence, beast," snaps Guru, glaring at the back of Bassoon's skull. "Know that I tolerate your existence solely because I am less than certain that your minder cannot be trusted with it."

Dazarel settles, trotting off across the beach in Bassoon's mindscape.

"Sorry about him," you say, the projection in Guru's mind shrugging.

"You can hardly control his language for him," he replies. "I do wish you felt less responsible for him, though." His fingers twitch.

"You save a life, you're responsible for it," you say, folding your arms. "Nothing to do with how I feel."

Guru huffs out a small laugh. "Admirable." He glances up as the last sphere arrives in the arms of an Elder. "You are a font of troubling information, Scion. At least you seem a noble individual- hah." He smirks. "Noble. Of course. I look forward to confirming that you indeed are noble -- in both senses of the term -- momentarily."

"You could condition my own wish on me being trustworthy-!" you start to say, raising a hand.

"Too big," he replies. "Porunga has more difficulty with information retrieval than anything else. That alone will consume a wish with nothing left over." He steps up to Bassoon's shoulder and looks at him. "You haven't seen these in a long time, Son."

"Not since the weather fixes," replies Bassoon, eyes still fixed on the Dragon Balls as the Elder reverently lowers the last into place.

Guru nods. "Hm." He puts a hand on Bassoon's shoulder. "Today, you will speak the wishes."

That breaks Bassoon's focus. "What?!"

Guru smiles, stepping back. "I am proud of all that you have done. To use the Dragon Balls is a privilege that rarely comes in such troubled times. You have earned it."

Bassoon struggles with his response for a moment. "I'm...I'm honored."

Guru's smile widens, and then he turns around and steps back further.

Bassoon looks back down at the Dragon Balls.

You pat the beach. "This is big for you, huh?"

He nods. 'Very.' He takes a breath. "Well. No time like the present." He steps forward and spreads his arms, and shouts something in his language.

The dragon balls light up, glowing a brilliant gold. You stand, gazing at the view in the mindscape's sky as they pulse several times before lighting up...and up...and up...

A streamer of light cascades upwards into the sky, blotting out the rest of the world and doubling back on itself time and time again. It comes to a peak and then solidifies. Green appears out of the gold. A pair of red eyes light up, and the dragon comes into the world.

You gape. He's as large as Dazarel, and he glows with power. His form bulges with muscle and he scowls down at Bassoon with an imperious stare. He speaks, and a translation booms through Bassoon's mindscape. "I AM PORUNGA, THE MAKER OF DREAMS," he pronounces. "YOU WHO HAVE GATHERED THE DRAGON BALLS AND SUMMONED ME FORTH, SPEAK TO ME OF YOUR HEART'S DESIRE! THREE WISHES YOU MAY ASK OF ME, AND BE THEY WITHIN MY POWER, I WILL GRANT THEM."

Your hair stands on end. You can sense nothing from Porunga, but you feel as though you are in the presence of something mighty. You feel a subtle pressure that you barely resist trying to push you back, and every instinct in your body screams at you that to attack this being would be suicide. All of that, and you can sense nothing from him.

Your eyes widen. "...is this divine ki?"

Bassoon swallows and spreads his arms. He shouts up to Porunga in his language, and again you cannot understand him. This time, however, his voice BOOMS through his mindscape. "O Porunga, my first wish is this: has the saiyan Kakara, currently imprisoned in my mind, deceived my father regarding her origins, intentions, or past?"

Porunga's gaze does not shift, but the quality changes, and you swallow as you realize that his eyes now are fixed on you. "SCION KAKARA, BELOVED OF GARENHULD, DO YOU CONTEST MY RIGHT TO THIS INFORMATION?" His eyes narrow.

You swallow and shake your head.

The dragon nods, and you feel his attention pass. "A SIMPLE MATTER. THE SCION IS TRUTHFUL. HER TALE IS HONEST."

A thread of tension you've not noticed before goes out of Bassoon's body. "Thank you, Porunga," he says. 'Kakara, we're ready for your wish,' he says. 'I'm glad that you can have it.'

"Me too," you say, throat dry. You swallow to wet it and run over your phrasing one last time. You considered many wishes, some in line with what you told to Guru and others new ideas you thought up afterwards. Ultimately, you focused on things that would let you act now. You considered wishing your body here, but concluded that Porunga was unlikely to be able to affect something with that much ki. You thought of simply unlocking your full power, but that would leave you a shade. You still have them as backup wishes, but they were not your final decision.

You take a breath. "Porunga, I wish to gain the capability to temporarily manifest a physical body outside my host which would allow me to use all my power and skills."

Bassoon echoes your words in his own language, and a moment later, Porunga's eyes flash. "IT IS DONE."

You gasp as a strange sensation flows through you, like a binding on you snapping loose. It reminds you of when you snapped Dandeer's restraints. You flex your fingers and try to project up and out-

-you stretch, extending up and dispersing into the sky above and coming terrifyingly close to leaping out of Bassoon altogether, Dazarel getting sucked along in your wake-

-you yank it back with a gasp, wide-eyed.

"Kakara, was that...?" says Bassoon.

"It was," you breathe. "I can leave." You grin. "I can leave!" You hop in place, laughing.

Bassoon grins. "Nice. Just wait a moment, all right? I have one last wish to make."

"Yeah, yeah, okay," you laugh, settling.

Bassoon turns back to the dragon. "Thank you, great Porunga! Now, my final wish: New Namek is under threat. We will be invaded soon! The invaders will be led by a powerful warrior, one far outstripping any Namekian! Though our ally Kakara is mighty, we must be careful in deploying her. We need more help." He takes a breath. "We ask that you summon to us a mighty warrior fit to stand against the leader of these invaders! Summon a powerful fighter willing to help us in our time of need! We cannot contact the mightiest of the galaxy's fighters to aid us here; help us to reach out! Bring us somebody who can help us stem the tide."

Porunga's aura of power flares once, twice. His eyes flash. "THAT WISH IS WITHIN MY POWER. IT SHALL BE DONE."

The ground in front of Bassoon flares a brilliant gold. He squints against it, throwing up an arm to shield his eyes.

tak

You hear somebody moving within the glow. A shape appears. Then there is the faintest stirring of ki, and your eyes widen. "Guru! Throw up a ward! Something! If you have anything that can mask ki signatures, do it now!"

Guru blinks in shock before turning to the Elders nearby, but you're no longer paying attention. You project up and out, into the sky of Bassoon's mindscape.

The glow hits your eyes like a knife. You squint in the heartbeats before they adjust. Above, Porunga says something before dissolving into golden light and vanishing, the Dragon Balls slamming down to the ground around you. You hear Bassoon stepping back behind you. You hear the Elders murmuring to each other. You feel the clawed weight of Dazarel settling onto your shoulder.

You draw in a deep breath, sampling the air of Namek, and smile. It's not permanent, but here it is. You stand up straight and stretch yourself out, reveling in the sensation of once again having physical form.

The figure in the glow stirs as the light begins to die away, and they step forward, rushing slightly, eager. You stop stretching and focus, centering your weight. Around you, at the direction of the Elders and Guru, a dome of opaque, black metal spins itself into being. You lose any sense of the world beyond. You flare.

You smile thinly as your power climbs all the way to its normal base before ratcheting back down to resting.

Then you look at the figure as the light dies away entirely and they emerge. You meet her eye-to-eye. Your tail swishes.

So does hers.

You stare at another saiyan woman, as she looks around, gets a handle on her surroundings, and turns her gaze to you. You look her up and down. She looks relatively average. Spiky black hair, black eyes, relatively forgettable face. Her features are sharp but unremarkable. She is muscle-bound to an extent that's notable even for your people. Yet there is something off about her. She seems rough-edged and unrestrained. Her smile has too much edge to it. The gleam in her eyes is unsettlingly bright.

She says something, and you frown. What's a saiyan doing speaking Namekian?

"She said, 'So, who're you?'" murmurs Bassoon. "'You look pretty strong.'"

The woman lights up her aura, bouncing eagerly from foot to foot. Her power level hits your senses at fifteen million. You grimace, sliding one of your own feet back into a more stable stance.

'And what do you think that is doing here?' asks Dazarel, distaste in his voice.

'Not sure,' you reply. 'Maybe a third group survived.' You sigh, shaking out your wrists. Around you, you see the Elders whispering about the sudden, unexpected saiyan, and her immediate standoff with their somewhat more expected saiyan. 'Everywhere I go, I find my people scrapping for a fight.'

Good news! You're trustworthy. Good news! You got your first wish, and have gained the ability to project yourself from Bassoon's body, limitations as-yet-unknown. Odd news! The Namekians also summoned an additional high-powered warrior who'd be willing to help out and got a saiyan who speaks namekian!

How do you respond?

[ ] Bassoon can translate. Try to find out who she is and how she got here. Communication check, debuffed by 20 due to translation.
[ ] Translation can wait. You know how your people think. Establish dominance and go from there. She wants a fight. Fight! Afterward, Communication check, no debuff.
[ ] You don't actually know how long you can hold this. Use what you've got and get her down in case there's any chance of this turning hostile. Fight! Using Sight, psychic abilities, and the full power of your super saiyan form, put this woman down as fast as possible. Then dictate terms.
[ ] Write-in.

MANUAL MORATORIUM. APPROVAL VOTING.

The Namekians wanted to gain Champion superiority. They asked for somebody who'd do it willingly.

They got a saiyan.

Have fun with that one. ;)

Hope you enjoyed, folks! We'll wrap this up shortly and get back to the regular course of things.

This seems the most in character for Kakara.

I'm thinking something like this:

[] Check with the Namekians that their ki masking can handle a Super Saiyan. If so, go Super Saiyan to establish dominance on the spot - if she still wants a fight she can have one.
-[] If she's suitably cowed: Bassoon can translate. Try to find out who she is and how she got here. Communication check, debuffed by 20 due to translation.

It would be nice to get her story, but Kakara's IC knowledge of what makes Saiyans tick is pretty on the nose here - I'd go as far as to say our mystery Saiyan will probably be more comfortable having a conversation after her instinct to figure out who's the strongest is seen to.

[X] Attempt to telepathically communicate with the saiyan and bypass the language barrier.
-[X] get Bassoon to explain what you are doing first.

Hm, this throws a wrench in things. Not only does this Saiyan fighting have the exact same problem that Kakara fighting un-Masqued would, but she's currently sitting at the pre-SSJ1 cap, which means that unless she gets stupendously lucky and unlocks the SSJ1 form soon she'll be stuck on pure skill training simply to get up to par with Basoon.

Even if Kakara's Masque is enough for the Namekian mages to figure out Masques, this new Saiyan has shown zero indication of being anything other than a pure Saiyan, and if the Xenoverse Future Warrior wishes are canon here, simply making a Saiyan spontaneously is something they can do.

Side note, if the Wards around the Hall indicate they can be anchored to a place, could we create Wards in a Dyson Sphere? 10 Billion units is a big chunk of a planet's QI, and I'm sure the Saiyans could donate that much into a spell apiece for keeping it stable and reinforcing Wards that could easily hide a SSJ2, at least as long as they didn't go GO.

Plus, a Pluto-orbit Dyson Sphere could, assuming QI can power Arcology-type technology, easily support over 500 quintillion people. Enough to trivialize The Enemy via Spirit Saiyan, I think. If you made a Dyson Swarm inside it (which you totally could if you figured out a method to make QI into matter like Piccolo's Clothes Beam only grander in scale due to sheer energy levels) then increasing that number an order of magnitude is in the cards. All contained in the safety of those Wards, just waiting for The Enemy to start shit and get dunked on with 5 sextillion PL.

I wonder if Xeno'o would take notice and have a look for whatever's hit .01% of his PL?

Setting aside the fact of how the hell we'd make a dyson sphere in Kakara's lifetime.

Also neat another Saiyan. This is either another nomad survivor(though isn't there only supposed to be 1?) or a descendant of Broly which could get interesting.

Woo. Another Saiyan

Because Saiyans are totally a stabilising element

Hm. So it's case of: 1.third group, 2.another timeline, or 3.resident of universe 6?

-Great her. Shake hands, make sure that she understand you are friendly, then ask her for fight. It should be easy to communicate even without Bassoon.

Telekinesis+energy-to-matter conversion. If Kakara can casually 'Planet? What planet?' with a wave of her hand, that's a lot of matter, and you don't need the material all that thick. If you're creating the material, you can probably make it carbon micro-tubules or something equally impossible under normal circumstances. If 1000 units is a gram of matter, then Kakara could make 1.125 million kilograms. More than enough for a medium-sized ship, and it's going to be much flatter. Do that every day for a year, and that should be more than enough to make a solid chunk of the sphere, even working alone, as that's a moderately-sized skyscraper's mass. With the Kakara, Jaffur, Yammar, and Kakara's father and grandmother, that's multiple such skycrapers.

This is, of course, assuming that 1000 units is and remains only a gram, instead of starting out or becoming more efficient.

Qi's a good foil for magic if it can create things, where magic can't seem to do anything but rip things apart. They can both blow things up, but you can do that with any energy.

I am very glad that wish worked.

...Uh, when has ki been demonstrated to be able to create bulk matter like that?

And magic? Only rip things apart? Making a loooot of assumptions there.

If you check the narration, they have a tail. It's not a universe 6 inhabitant.

I'm noticing that a Saiyan locked at 15 million PL is "fit to stand against the leader of these invaders". It seems unlikely that he'd bring one that needed to unlock the SSJ transformation to manage that, so either the leader is really weak (this Haila person, maybe?) Or we have another Endivan on our hands - someone so damned skilled they can overcome a serious PL disadvantage. Or maybe she's staying at 15 million as a fake-out?

Or she's a Sorcerer or Psychic and her power level is not reflective of her fill capabilities. See: Dandeer, Dazarel.

Seems a bit odd she'd be at 15 million then, given that both of those disciplines apparently require so much work to be worth pursuing there's not really any time for training - at least on Garenhuld - but maybe they have some better way of doing it where she's from. Or she's a freak like us.

[] Grin and wait.
-Telepathically ask the Guru if the ward could mask the power of a Super Saiyan.

Don't give information away. If she tries to start a fight first, we learn more about her. The same as if she tries to talk first.

You should remember that Garenhild is kind of a backwater which needed to rebuild itself from scratch. Other places might have access to more efficient methods of instruction without any of the cultural stigma the garenhilders place on both innovation and esoteric skills.

I'll actually take this one. Saiyans are known, if nothing else, for improving extremely quickly. Kakara believes that she could get this saiyan powerful indeed by year's end, if she was in charge of her training, and Porunga did know of Kakara's presence and background.
