Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Personally not a fan of that mote. It's just way too much to process at once. Like, I can see how on paper it would look like a neat idea, but it destablized the momentum built during the last few chapters. Hopefully Joe doesn't dwell on every free mote next chapter because that's going to lead to the compound interest of more motes. I don't even care about the new powers at this point, I'm just too hyped for the future interaction of all the big players in a shitty dive bar.
Thankfully, there probably won't be anything this big in the future. There aren't any other Companions available and I don't believe that any other perks have as many freebies as Devil May Cry's Weapon Crafting did.

@LordRoustabout with how large the new ability lists are getting, might I suggest a divider between the actual story and the list?

Special Note: The Felyne granted by the 'Felyne Comrade' item is specified to count as a Companion. As such, and previous jump documents that granted free companion imports apply to the Felyne and are included along with other free items. A list of free companion imports and their associated abilities can be found below.
Even Bolding this line would make the format much nicer to read through.

I've never played Monster Hunter and wasn't remotely attached to the concept of the Felyne. Honestly, to me Aisha learning everything in VR land was far more important. And even more important it was only 8 hours for 5 minutes of time. So what if she can't train muscle memory and actual magical skills in there yet. (Cause you know an upgrade to it might happen some time.)

I'm just curious about her coming out with basically a general college level degree in an hour or two. It's even more amazing some of the little bits that she's been picking up around them.

Her being rather curious about the new guy was sort of backward. Came off as a tad bit rude. O.k. She was asking Joe, but she was basically asking for all the new guy's powers/abilities and such. Shrugs seemed a bit much to me. Cat guy didn't seem insulted over it.

What really came off was Joe was focused on the crafting thing and his side kick was a mere fighter. Any mere fighter going through jump chain stuff and focused will be rather awesome.

I'm hoping cat guy didn't automatically take up the spiral power thing that Joe was able to assign to someone else.

O.k. the vibe that I got. Hop back in VR for another intense session. She'd learn how to understand cat.

I'm actually hoping that Joe will brave up and ask Aisha about the transhuman thing and how much is she remotely comfortable with.

Do you know what's really funny? Joe can legitimately say that he isn't the strongest guy on his team now.

Tetra was adorable being all worried that her place as the team furry was being taken over. Nope. New guy is totally different from you Tetra. Actually, isn't wearing Tetra about the same as whatever divine life-draining stuff was just mentioned? It's hard to really compare different settings.

Tetra, you are the cute adorable one. He's the scary strong fighter one.

Holy smokes, that's a lot of companion based abilities. I like the idea of this Felyne companion, but he seems more than a little ridiculous.

Wait a second, does Joe also have the chance to roll the awesome op Glory to Me perk in the forge? Or does Glory to Me not exist as a perk in the forge and Joe will never get it?

Cuh-Ray-Zee! (Devil May Cry) Free:
The moment you step into the world of Devil May Cry, you, and anyone you brought with you, will have the innate potential to do incredibly amazing stuff all day long, pal. However, it will take great skill and effort to pull off anything like blocking attacks with the back of your hand, or playing an air guitar that actually produces audible sound for others to hear. But never fear, if you train hard enough, and git gud enough, you too will be able to deflect bullets with other bullets, destroy buildings by spouting out innuendos, and become a worthy disciple of my ways. And yes, you totally get to see your rank whenever you're doing anything.
Huh, does this bit mean that Tybalt can also stunt like a madman all day long? 'cuz that seems like it would definitely apply to Companions.

I'm hoping cat guy didn't automatically take up the spiral power thing that Joe was able to assign to someone else.
I don't see why it would, that makes no sense. Tybalt's getting it from the companion import option, while the granting ability is part of the perk that gives Joe Spiral. Arguably, Tybalt might even be able to grant Spiral to an additional person, in addition to the one Joe can grant.

I mean the logic is sound, a true Companion isn't meant to be static next to their leader, they're meant to grow along with them. If Joe had gotten Tybalt way back in the first few chapters we would've been treated to him tagging along on Joe's power curve. In this case, Tybalt has gotten his own flavor of every single one of Joe's major advancements, all at once no less.

He's also probably weaker than Joe if you tally everything up. Sure, he has nigh-limitless divine dominion over any and all aspects relating to War, along with a plethora of support powers and equipment gathered from across no less than seven wildly different franchises; but I'd be willing to bet that when the chips are down he wouldn't be able to eclipse Joe's combined variability and power.

Personally, I can't wait for the other seven Companions to eventually show up. If Joe gets put this out of whack by pulling one now, I can't wait to see the results of Companions appearing once he has even more powers.

Now that Joe has unlocked the Capstone constellation, he can get Glory to Me as well as Glory to the Legion once he rolls it and accumulates the 800CP each.

Here's the WoG relating to both being there.

On the Glory to... capstone:
I'm fudging rules with the Capstone constellation. Since Joe isn't going through normal jumps and is limited in how he can take perks, I'm not precisely following restrictions on purchases from documents. For instance, in the Transformers Jump your only supposed to be able to get one upgrade, but both All Spark Chosen and Matrix of Leadership will be included in the Capstone constellation. This is because All Spark Chosen covers a deficit specifically referenced in Master Builder, while Matrix of Leadership covers a deficit in heart and motion, particularly when things get too tough. I assure you, this decision was made purely for the most technical, professional reasons, not solely so that Joe will be riding the eye of the storm while all hell's breaking loose.

As such, both Glory to Me and Glory to the Legion will be included in the capstone constellation, though under the same entry and the selection will be determined randomly, just like with any other multi-part perk. It dose mean that Joe could end up with both of them if he rolls well with high point totals.

I don't see why it would, that makes no sense. Tybalt's getting it from the companion import option, while the granting ability is part of the perk that gives Joe Spiral. Arguably, Tybalt might even be able to grant Spiral to an additional person, in addition to the one Joe can grant.
WoG says Tybalt can't. Just one additional Spiral user total. Here's the WoGs.

On if the person Joe grants Spiral can spread it and on if the Felyne can grant it to another too:
The person Joe grants spiral to cannot grant it to another person. There might be an argument for the Felyne to be able to grant spiral as well, but I'm leaning against it. All signs point to only one bonus spiral user.

"How many Spiral Beings will exist? I count Joe, Felyne, Avid Glove, and Joe's pick (list excludes duplicates).":
The Avid Glove counts as an extension of Joe, not its own spiral being. Getting into the ecology of Polythreme, it might be possible that Avid Gloves could count as candidates for spiral energy, but that's a fairly frightening concept. Unless the endgame removes the limits the only spiral beings will be Joe, the Felyne, and whoever Joe chooses to imbue with spiral energy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Joe hasn't gotten a whole 800 all at once yet, has he? I almost don't want to see the oncoming realization that there's a level beyond the 600 range he currently holds as the pinnacle of the Forge. …nah, I totally want to see it.

You're correct. It's very unlikely that Joe will reach the point of accumulating that many points as well as rolling one of the 800CP perks once he get that amount. However, it is possible and Joe will get it eventually. Just wanted to make it clear that the perk was there.
Personally, I can't wait for the other eight Companions to eventually show up. If Joe get put this out of whack by pulling one now, I can't wait to see the results of Companions appearing once he has even more powers.
You mean Companion perks? Cause there's no more Companions after the Felyne. The Kerbals don't count as Companions.

Both Glory to Me and Glory to Legion are in the forge, with one in the capstone constelation and one in another one. its a coin toss the first time its rolled successfully, with the other time giving the other one.

Wait there's a new branch for the Celestial Forge, what is it about ??
It's the Capstone constellation. It was gained as a result of Joe rolling Weapon Crafting and therefore clearing the Crafting Skills Constellation.

WoG:
The Capstone constellation is designed to address the fact that this isn't a traditional jumpchain. As such perks that would normally be takes in support of the ones in the Celestial Forge are not accessible by default, and the Capstone Constellation is meant to correct that. The criteria isn't so much perks that are specifically designated as capstone boosters, but perks that modify abilities from the Celestial Forge.

There's a list of the currently known possible as well as WoG confirmed capstone perks in the Reference Sheet. Just go to the Capstone Perks tab either at the bottom of the screen (PC) or top (mobile).

I like how there was talk about Felyne just before the chapter and lo and behold we get Felyne. Just like how there were talk of horses and we get Unicorns... I feel like there's a trend there...

This was a fantastic and fun chapter to read- also... I see what you did there, with that Parallel to the Locker event Worm is so well known for :V

That aside, fun chapter and now Joe has a designated War expert. Oh dear.

Now I'm all the more eager to see the coming meeting, given that instead of "One Man, Aperion" he's going to be coming in with a full crew decked out in top of the line Aperion gear. I almost expect people to faint realizing that he's been working with six? other people who will be assumed to be on a similar scale to him.

...Actually, that might calm them down as they'd assume that multiple tinkers/strikers are working together in this group with Aperion a the "Face"... huh.

He haz a cat now. At this rate you're gonna have a supporting cast that can curb-stomp the entire protectorate.
Edit: how did that typo sneak in there? And why can't I delete it?
Said Cat could already single-handedly curb-stomp the local protectorate, if not the organization as a whole. Glory to Me explicitly allows you to fight on par with mid-tier Gods, and Tybalt is the child of a War god, which inevitably boosts that even further. That's probably "1v1 an endbringer"-tier strength, at minimum. I don't know exactly how the Endbringers' true strength matches up against the strength of deities, but I figure they're roughly on the same level.

Personally, I can't wait for the other seven Companions to eventually show up. If Joe gets put this out of whack by pulling one now, I can't wait to see the results of Companions appearing once he has even more powers.
I don't think that the 8 companion import slots imply that there will be another 7 companions in this fic. Did LR not explicitly say in that update that the Felyne was treated as a companion because the jump specifies that it's a free companion? and as Cosmic said here:
You mean Companion perks? Cause there's no more Companions after the Felyne. The Kerbals don't count as Companions.
there are no other companions in the forge.

Is Warrior-Cats a thing on Earth Bet? I never read or understood the whole Warrior Cats thing, but I think Tybalt fits the description "Warrior-cat" pretty precisely.
I think we are subconsciously tapping into the dice rolls somehow. But only as a collective.
I propose that RNGesus is one of the regulars in the thread. or Lady Luck. or another fortune-associated deity.

Maaaan. Another Felyne in another Celestial X fic.

That just makes me think 'Felynn are cooler' and also - hey, there is exactly one crafting relevant power in disgaea, and it would be a power that creates a sentient being.

Item Worlder (600 CP)
Your workshop now contains an Item Worlder, a relatively loyal demon whose duties consist of banishing you to demiplanes generated by items you give her. Inside those demiplanes you navigate ever downward, or kill the legions of simulated demons sent your way. The deeper you go, and the higher the quality of the object you started with, the more powerful the demons simulated.
More powerful demons carry more powerful gear of their own, and can readily be looted or stolen from.
Once you leave the item you entered is improved in every respect that can be objectively judged. These improvements are exponential in nature, as is the strength of the demons you will face and their gear.
Someone with a better handle on balancing the Celestial X docs can probably make some improvements to that wording, but I'm hecking lazy. Also not saying Joe should do this, I think IW grinding would be interesting for all of one encounter tbh. But it did come to mind and need to get out

That aside, fun chapter and now Joe has a designated War expert. Oh dear.
Not just that, but he might have Ares' War Manipulation.

From the Percy Jackson Wiki on Ares:
War Manipulation: As the God of War, Ares has the power to manipulate war, strife, combat, and other forms of conflict - all to a highly advanced level. Through this power, he is able to influence all forms of conflict, including mental, physical, spiritual, and conceptual ones, regardless of the area and numbers involved, and he could even control how they progress and draw power both from the conflict alone as well as the dying. Ares could also start conflicts by influencing people or events, raise personal and fanatical armies, control and create weapons of every kind and even grant others extensive abilities of combat (such as Hippolyta's golden girdle). Ares is naturally, extremely skilled in all forms of fighting, weapons and both strategy and tactics as well as statistics of war. Ares has the incredible power to invoke war and chaos within an enormously large radius, ranging from a city to an entire continent. With this power, he has full control of the city or continent that is in war and chaos at the time.

Tybalt also for sure has Necromancy, Odikinesis, Pyrokinesis, Telumkinesis which include Weapon Curses, and more.

Hey, wasn't there some insane overlap between Einsbern alchemy and get set? Cause magic is stored in the hair, and Joe now had infinite hair, wasn't there an WoG that meant that he now had infinite mana through that?
Yep, you're right. Here's the WoG.

"Finally, are there any perks that you're especially looking forward to getting, not necessarily because they're useful (like M/E) but because of how fun, or maybe "Fun", they'd be?":
There are some fun perks like You Became A Star and Launderer System that aren't particularly powerful but are still fun. I'm quite looking forward to Equivalent Exchange and the Minecraft elements that will bring. A recent combination I keyed to was the overpowered combination that you get from Get Set! (The free hair styling perk from Dark Slayer) and Thaumaturgical Focus: Alchemy. It occurred to me that Fate Alchemy would be along the lines of what you see from the Einzberns. Given Alchemy's ability to manipulate the energy in materials and the natural concentrations of mana in a magus's hair, along with the constructs Illya was able to create with her own hair, it occurred to me that the ability to instantly modify and regrow your hair is weirdly an infinity power source under Fate mechanics. Also, Joe making an Einzbern style familiar would be absolutely terrifying when you consider all of his other powers that would be in play.

You BASTARD!!!!! I thought THIS was the chapter where he goes to Somer's Rock! If in the next chapter that doesn't happen... I will find you.

nice chapter tho... Hmph!
