Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

The whole cluster trigger theory is gaining more and more evidence, Apeiron as the Main Tinker, Survey as the Main Thinker, Aisha as the Main Stranger, and Tybalt as the Main Brute.

Edit: Is Fleet qualified to be the Master?

Imagine the faces behind people's masks over in Somer's rock if Apeiron admits that he is the Main Tinker and is generally the one who pumps out the gear for the rest. I really like imagining the "Oh Shit." faces they would make as a result.

Also the theory of Apeiron being a monsterous is gonna get stronger with all these monsterous capes around him. And it seems like Fleet and Survey and probably Matrix might be getting humanoid bodies rather than seemingly human ones (might just be me reading too much into the wording though). Even if they seemed pretty human, with Joe's beauty perks, they won't seen like normal (para)humans.

I'm excited for costumes too. For each member of the team as well as Joe's new one. I know Garment is.

Call sign (Strike Witches) Free:
Attention all military personnel, due to the recent alliances several documents of low importance have gone missing. It is important that you announce your call sign to your direct superior as soon as possible. All your comrades will know you by it, and if you don"t tell us one will simply be appointed to you during your next Sortie.
Wouldn't everyone now know about your new 'Cousin' by his callsign?

Also why don't you build something similar to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber if you need more time to train?

Hmm, I don't think I can add much to major new stuff that other people aren't already talking about or were sufficiently covered in the chapter...

But just to be brief Felyne's are cute and wonderful, and the Kamui question is concerning. Mostly because finally shifting over only to be immediately obsoleted by the forge would really suck for poor Tetra. And even without that, a Kamui is in and of itself a transforming outfit. Joe already has a full outfits worth of gear and armor plates, and due to the nature of his perks or the enchanted gear in question, it can't all just be life-fibers. I'm sure it's possible to shove the two together, but I don't imagine it'll be easy.

And on a less serious note...he has rainbow hops? Really? I'll be honest, a lot of the cosmetic perks are outright cringy or annoying, when they aren't seriously detrimental (looking at you Enigmatic Artificer and friggin TITLE CARD). Some of them (the posing and innuendo in particular) have potential for interesting interactions and character development, similar to how other perks like the Transformer memories affect Joes perspective. But while the two big 'stranger' cosmetics are globally known and major plot points now, the rest are just annoying and burdensome. And them not having an 'off' switch, and thus being a permanent undesired addition just aggravates me out of sympathy for Joe. Even the demonic castlevania rituals and the soul bottles could just, NOT be used if Joe wanted. Honestly removing all agency like that, and for a perk that isn't a clear improvement in something, even if it may be awkward initially (looking at the various body-mods that have made Joe more swole and/or bishie) it just feels like an overall detriment. Something that doesn't belong in the Forge, where the perks are meant to be beneficial.

It's still overall minor, it just bugs me at least every time something like that comes up. Even the worst gifts of knowledge and experience the Forge has given, so far, have that knowledge be an intrinsic requirement for their primary function. Being a true expert in Cybertronian tech takes BEING a Cybertronian. Having Combat Engineer skills takes military training and experience. Knowing how to counter demonic rituals means knowing the rituals in the first-place. 40K Mechanicus tech, enough said. Even for all the negativity, those perks don't remove agency. Joe still gets to decide what to make, what knowledge to use, or when he's not stoned out of his mind on pain whether or not to transform. Even the innuendo and posing is only natural and can be suppressed. Little 'cosmetics' though with no control, that just activate? And aren't actually helpful, just a cheeky reference that only makes sense in their respective Jumps? That just ticks me off out of sympathy for poor Joe.

Okay, rant over, for real now. Final thing. Joe is hot now right? Between the body built with aesthetic powers, demi-god transformations, and Aphrodite's blessing...he's changed a lot. But the only (human) person that's really seen him is Aisha. When is Joe going to finally stop concealing himself? Honestly, the reactions to his personal reveal are something I'd look forward to greatly...except doing that makes no sense in character. He does apparently still look like his old self (on the one hand, less of an identity crisis. On the other, constantly concealing yourself from everyone you know to not reveal major changes.) and that makes a disguise currently necessary. But it's not like this is the sort of thing he should keep up forever. And now Joe has the ability to make enchanted gear that could protect his identity even without concealing his appearance.

Actually, on that note for whatever cool-down chapter comes next, instead of staying in the Forge why not head out into the city with an identity obscuring mystic code and no other alterations? It'd be a chance for Joe to get used to his new body in public, interact with non-Forge characters, and checkup on the remnants of the Ungodly Hour more personally. In particular the Dust. I know at least I'm happy about that. The PRT and Tinkers fiddling around with Joe's tech, and it not getting stolen away by Fiat is interesting. There may even be minor mining operations going on!

Good chapter, can't wait for him to talk to more people. Honestly speaking, I'm super lost right now. I think he has way too many powers now for me to follow. If this story was like that one dead story where the dude gets knocked out every time he gets a new power, this MC would already be dead (or riddled with power cancer) lol. I think something should be incorporated for him to lose powers at some cost or whatever, coalesce them into an overarching one.

Callsign is active only in the field.

From 47 Downtime:
The bomber jacket hung on one of Garment's racks, emblazoned with the word "Apeiron" across the back. It was a free item that was provided with Technomage and the name was connected to a second free ability, Call Sign. It meant that all of my allies in the field would recognize my name and associate it with me. It was the kind of thing that had potential to raise more master alarms, but that ship had sailed. Besides, it wasn't what was concerning about the jacket.

Here's the WoGs supporting that.

"How does Call sign work? How does it designate who's an ally in the field? Also, what counts as in the field? How exactly would knowing Apeiron as Apeiron raise master alarms? If Joe in the field and he was fighting alongside people in his civilian identity, would they then know he's Apeiron?":
Call Sign isn't going to trigger in Joe's civilian identity. Even if he finds himself in a bad situation out of costume it's not going to count for the purposes of the perk. The designation of allies is fiat based, meaning it's handled automatically. The effect is generally minor, but includes things like everyone knowing he's Apeiron in a chaotic situation. At this point master alarms have become background noise where Apeiron is involved. It's basically another one for the pile as far as mental influence concerns go. People won't be happy, but 'everyone knows his name in the field' is not going to be the thing they stressabout.
"Hopefully the effects of Call sign doesn't blow his civilian id? Also, thinking in the implications of some alternate universe version of yourself being a child soldier is rough, even if that hypothetical alternate version has wildly diverging traits.":
Call sign will only activate in the field, so Joe is safe in his civilian identity. Joe's relationship with the universes of his powers continues to become more complicated. He's looking at a lot of potential other Joe's out there in very different situations and states of existence. The Transformers memories are probably still the standout, but other contenders are building up.

As for the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, here's another WoG.

"What'd be the (outside time):(inside time) ratio if Joe were to make a hyperbolic time chamber?":
Joe doesn't have an easy way of making a hyperbolic time chamber at the moment. He only has a few kinds of time altering technology and they're mostly based on stasis or slowing down local time. That's not something you can just throw into reverse. None of his tech bases have plans ready to go for a device like that, so any attempt will be developed from the ground up with a lot of experimentation behind it. The one exception is, as usual, Simple Scientific Solution from Tenchi Muyo. Using that could provide some form of time dilation effect for household issues, but it would be very sensitive and easy to misuse, which would trigger a mishap. Any problems that happen with a device that alters time are going to be significant, to the point where Joe would probably not risk it. The acceleration he gets from the thrones is enough to cover most of his needs, and he has his Noble Phantasm for addressing long crafting times.

hum, now I can undestand what Escanor mean with "Of course it has no effect. I've no reason to feel hatred towards those beneath me. All I feel towards them is pity."

And this is toward Coil, neo nazis and the worse kind of drug dealers. and specially the dragonslayers, feel pity should not be the first feeling when thinking about a bar with all of those people.

So.

When he goes to the meeting. The Dragonslayers will be there.

And he'll have not one, not two, but THREE unrestricted AIs with him.

Whelp. Saint is fucked.

And considering that the dude never goes anywhere without Ascalon stuck to his ass like the security blanket it is, it'll probably be easily claimable from the wreckage. Heh.

Looks like Dragon is going to be loosed sooner rather than later.

It'd be interesting if Joe gets a Xenotech reverse engineering perk like Xenoarchaeologist or Certified Tech. Xenoarchaeologist would allow him to understand Ascalon's purpose on sight, on top of what he gets from his technokinesis.

Depending on the setting it might or might not be relevant but does Worm have any universal transhumanism right's? We all have human right's but if someone become transhuman then they will need universal transhuman right's. Our world has 30 articles of universal human rights while transhuman has 6 articles. Joe is more a political enitity and his power constantly changes him so it's a lost cause to argue. Meanwhile Aisha is still a human being or a parahuman depending on their laws. If she foregoes that many rights may be lost that Aisha takes for granted. Not that she'll be bullied but more of a consequense of losing the status of a human being.

I'm... what? Legal definitions of the word 'human' in 'human rights' have intentionally been kept pretty vague, to avoid specifically this issue. What do you mean 'transhuman has 6 articles'? Are there laws that specifically account for human-level intelligent non-humans?

WAR KITTY BRO COUSIN!

This is amazing and everything I never knew I wanted.

I can feel how Aisha must about the accelerated learning. Why waste time with boring mortal teachers and the shitty underfunded American education system when you can get lessons quick from the greatest demigod teacher?

I hope he turns off his power to be just accepted as he is for the meeting since I want fuckin' reactions. Reactions all the day long.

Gimme a chapter of people wondering about this team Apeiron just suddenly pulled out of nowhere while awkwardly trying to not be outshone by him and his group.

Also poor Tetra, wants to be partnered with him but he's so strong he doesn't need her strength as he is and yet his enemies are also unbearably strong. Has to be a way for the Kamui to not be an end point but a growth point and optional form.

I'm also looking forwards to what he makes for the bodies of Fleet and Survey. Survey I'm not sure what to expect. A female Perceptor or Soundwave? A armored figure with noticeable cameras like some super Camerawoman who keeps filming everything Apeiron does? Fleet I'm imagining a straight up Vehicon but if it was actually powerful. With less evil coloration maybe.

I also wonder if Tybalt is going to want other Palicos around sometime. Potential continuation of odd Olympian family saga.

I'm stoked for potential scenes from the meeting.

Starting with Apeiron's potential announcement of himself and his group, designed to be the most impactful statement it can be.

Potentially someone starting shit with Tybalt and Apeiron asking them to stop, since his cousin's powers are a lot more lethal than his.

Pure, sapient life fibres are kind of nightmarishly powerful. They really don't need to specifically partner with Joe, they're basically a thread-based, lifeforce-eating grey goo scenario, what's unbearably strong to that?

Look I just searched on "universal transhuman right's" and "universal human right's" and discovered that they are different. If someone can find that I just searched wrongly or did find an incomplete article then I'm all ears. I didn't mean to lead this to become an argument.

So I thought with Wormverse it might be different with superpowers. Then again it isn't too long ago since Scion has come. But the government probably isn't too keen on getting laws to protect biotinkers.

I remember an AU where Danny had a shaker ability to take control of machines. If someone would trigger with that power here then early Joe would have been very vulnable to them. If for example they could take control of his nanites in Joe's body. Then Joe would be at their mercy in regards to memory loss, total privacy loss, torture and everything else exists in one's brain.

I'm happy that we havn't seen that ability here.
