Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

I wonder when Joe get the matrix of leadership and the Allspark will he recreate Optimus and Megatron to kick start both autobots and decepticon race as his soldiers
Since he got a perk that can and eventually get the Optimus perk so he can create cybertron and its race
What? What the fuck are you smoking there? Why the fuck would he want to create an entire race of beings to be foot soldiers?

In the new FMA jump it is, in the FMA jump the Forge uses it is 800.

I suspect the reason Joe's alien reverse engineering perks have stopped stacking in universe, is because out of universe even Lord can only write so many things a day. Like it would suck if Joe went, "Ok cool tracking Bakuda, so we will know where she is Friday morning" now the viewers expect him to find out about March, but whoops the S9 are attacking that day so now he can't attack Bakuda because in universe she is low priority, so the viewers don't get their pay off. This is why all projects in universe have been depriorotized over fighting Jack's shard for control of the network, because otherwise Joe is at a fast enough crafting speed and high enough tech level he would cause too many plot points to happen simultaneously.

I think this is also the reason the S9 keeps being delayed in universe due to stuff with curses, arguments, and random problems. If they were going to attack during their original timeframe Lord wouldn't be able to do any of his planned stuff for today regarding Joe learning Taylor's trigger, Brian's identity, healing the hostages etc. all long awaited plot points. So as a result things things in universe have coincidencely kept delaying the S9 until the 1 day a week Joe isn't busy (since if they were even a day later his schedule would be packed again). In universe this is probably Joe's luck powers, but out of universe this is Lord spacing events out for the readers.
I'm thinking it's less that the reverse engineering perks don't stack, and more that getting them is taken as an excuse to allocate time and resources away from tracking Bakuda. The Bakuda situation is contained and basically solved, they still need to deal with Broadcast. So all resources have been allocated away from Bakuda but the very minimum. Doesn't matter if they can find her in five seconds, that's five seconds not dealing with Broadcast.
My guess is Joe is going to tell Crystal on Saturday, as a precursor to them dating, because I doubt that he wants to hide him being HIM from the person who might become his Girlfriend.

Secret identity is secret for a reason, if Joe didnt care about other people finding out he wouldn't have bothered with all his defenses.
Luckily revealing his identity has defenses. Trying to reveal his identity or use it against him doesn't work. The reason why Joe hasn't gone public with it isn't because he's afraid of getting attacked. He just thinks he will get bothered. It's not safety, it's anonymounity. One person who is incapable of revealing his identity isn't a threat to that. Granted as has been mentioned before it actually becomes a serious relationship, not just feeling each other out, he won't reveal it because he doesn't need to yet.

Indeed but here's some other ones from after it that say had Survey and Tetra not been supporting her and instead chewed her out then she could have been pushed over the edge and second triggered.
Discord WoGs, huh. I left the server so I lost track of those. I stand corrected then, but it's important to also note that according to this for her to Trigger, she wouldn't just have to not be helped by Survey and Tetra but also straight up antagonized. In the scenario where she was just left alone, she would've still likely been able to recover enough to not Second Trigger I think.

Discord gets very few wogs from discord itself and most of those other than the anniversary q&a thing that happened years ago are cause Cosmic commissioned a pic of Survey and shared lord's feedback through pms about her appearance and outfit most of them including these are from Ao3. Discord is just far easier to search through and has people who obsessively check for new ones on Ao3 and ping Cosmic to archive them.

Sad it's not an 800 point but xeno is still awesome.

Edit: And now the whole workshop has yet another insane metal to work with. I wonder what a full Naq body would do for Weld.

Well if he also gets a way to control the energy output he would be on the level of the big three cause he would be insanely durable and with a energy out put to match.

If get's the isotopic variant he would be radioactive.

Weld wouldn't want a pure Naquedah body; the density of the refined, pure stuff makes tungsten look like it isn't trying very hard, so he'd be incredibly slow unless he also got a powered endoskeleton or something. Still, some naq in his diet would probably allow him to run a decent blaster power if he could learn to shapeshift into the right form to focus plasma like a Staff Weapon, or maybe a Kull plasma repeater…

Edit: that said, who wants to bet Joe accidentally (re-)discovers how to convert naquedah into naquadriah?

Xenoarcheaologist 's synergy with 40k tech ought to be interesting, because alien tech technically means anything that's been developed outside of Earth... like Mars, for example.

Considering that the triumvirate really aren't equal with Eidolon > Alexandria > Legend and the wog the mithril puts Weld into the top tier of the protectorate right now before he's had a chance to experiment I would argue he's at least already on Legend's lv especially if the block has heretical adaptation and if it carries over to Weld.

That does alter things, but I still feel like 'there's a child being held captive that you could have saved by now' is something Lisa should be nervous of Joe's reaction to.
Considering how heavily Coil is leaning on Tattletale I think it is implied that he isn't (ab)using his "perfect" little prediction preteen slave right now...

Aliens!
they built the Pyramids! they gave us powers! why won't anyone see!?!
look at him! *points at Zion* He's just here to probe us all!

just finished the chapter, and I kept thinking "nooo, pursue the correspondence, it will let you mimic any and all parahuman powers, its that useful!" either way, great chap, ty lol.

Anyone wanting to contact Apeiron has to go through Coil? Oooh, that can be pretty dangerous in the long run.

Honestly that bit doesn't really make sense to me other than with the Travelers since the Undersiders aren't really known to be working for him other than by them and the forge but even then isn't Lisa working and communicating with them to work on Noelle. Regardless it doesn't really matter the way things are going Coil will get crushed in 2-3 in story days when Butcher and March try their dumb scheme and release Noelle.

70% nothingburger. And that's excluding the parts that had the excuse that the power-babble gets (I.e., super in depth power combinations and their repercussions being part of the point of the author writing the whole fic).

I'm simply confused. Is repeatedly regurgitating previous monologues contents an easier/more enjoyable writing style for Lord R., or are there other factors resulting in this consistent super-repetition?
The Stargate SG-1 jump is notoriously weak. LR had to try and justify 600 points of very mediocre items, so the depth is kind of a prerequisite.

I have finally caught up with this story. I like that it's well written and enjoyable. I don't like that the writing aid is the focus of this story leading to long wordy sections where nothing happens.

To be honest, myself I'm more interested in to what extent this would naturally go the other way - that is, that by examining alien technology can he better understand the culture that originated it?
especially how this comboes with the other understanding cultures perks
So Wildbow stated that trauma alone wasn't enough - thus bringing in the concept of Sechen ranges. For you to be closer to your passenger in terms of connection, you have to be in a mental state as close as possible to your original Trigger. For a Second Trigger? Basically you have to repeat the entire circumstances of what led to your Trigger happening, which is why not every traumatized cape gets bonus powers. Sure, you could lose all your limbs and suffer complete immobility for the rest of your life, that's traumatic - but if you got your powers from being beaten up and not from losing limbs then it doesn't matter for your passenger.
how did brian second trigger if this is true then? only because Aisha was in danger because that's the only thing that could be even close to similar to his first trigger and with how everyone says parian could never second trigger because it's hyper specific then I'm not sure he should have second triggered at all

Wasn't Taylor supposed to have second triggered in the hospital? Specifically a place where she hadn't been bullied ever and no-one was physically confining her. So to second trigger she just had to produce the same feelings of isolation and panic regardless of physical circumstance.

She double triggered in the locker

If you're specifically talking about Celestial Forge fics, I can't really help you, but if you're just interested in something with a similar level of detail and quality and fine with it having only gotten three-quarters of a million words before dieing...

Well, I may have nostalgia goggles on when describing Man Off The Moon that way, given the years between it dieing and now. But I don't think I do.
Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunatly I've already read it. Thrice. It's an amazing story, I agree.

Queen matured while Hosting in Danny and migrated to Taylor so that when she Triggered she could use all of that built-up development.

Isn't it a power-amplifier though? I imagine that he'd have more mass to move but that he would also be able to move it a hell of a lot harder then before.
