Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Parian did not deserve to be dragged down by Emma. Instead she had gotten the chance to be the first one to throw the girl under the bus, starting something of a trend from Emma's previous modeling employers.

"Fine." Aisha said with a shrug. "The movie's nearly thirty years old. How bad could it be?"
Insert 'Wait, you're serious...' meme here.

Yet another masterpiece of a chapter, and a power that while useful now, would have been phenomenal back in the beginning of the story.

As is tradition.

Aisha continues to be the breakout character for me in this story, and having her feel accepted as fully part of the CF is heartwarming and wholesome.

Also can't wait on that Brian interaction that's coming up.

Interesting, so Aisha finally gets the 'confirmation' to being part of the Celestial Forge... She knew it, but Key was essentially undeniable proof I guess?

Lol, can't wait to see Brian 'meet' Joe with Aisha cackling in the corner.
Once she recovers from Movie Night.

Shame we can't see Smurgh's reactions to the Kerbal's ideas... Just imagine her floating in the air only to predict all the various methods they propose? She'd likely BlueScreen from it all and 'waste' all their planning. :D

Taylor is probably in shock and going to personally check to see how many support her, after something like Bakuda and her forced human-bombs, it's likely everyone that viewed the video was strongly affected. Hopefully that helps with her situation as she see's proof of not everyone being out to get her or uncaring.

Emma just became famous as the first unfortunate reminder of the scars/wounds they've been making for a long time and will likely be who comes to mind when certain subjects are discussed for a time... A scene of two former friends, broken apart due to a failed mugging, poor choices/coping and unwillingness to heal.

Got to admit her while her 'child model' career is over, she'll at least be forced to get help and maybe save herself from an even worse fate had she kept that mindset and targeted the wrong 'weakling' or from her 'friend' when she get bored of her, doubt Sophia would have kept her around and not many options to deal with a brat that knows her secret with a large ego and little common sense.

Lucky for her Aperion is around and may be a good distraction from her new fame.

Wonder how many will have family situations like Laborns' or Barnes' and Hebert, family drifting and suddenly trying to reconnect/improve things after all that's happened. :(

"Maybe?" She said, "It's still weird being included in that. Like there's some force outside all of this that's watching and deciding if I've done well enough to be fully included." She shifted awkwardly. "I know it's stupid…"
Aisha is again there with those insightful comments.
"The reports of my death were greatly exaggerated." He said before offering me a meaty handshake. "Though I've been impressed with how things have come together. I hear we have you to thank for some of that."
Mr Laborn is memeing.

Ahh. Looks like Accord's offer came through.

I thought Brian would meet Joe now but it looks like it would be the next day.

Shields as well. Just make a weapon that destroys objects or attacks when they are a within a certain range of the ship.
What you're describing is called point defense weapons and/or close in weapons systems (CIWS). Great against incoming physical objects like projectiles, rockets/missiles, torpedoes, (micro-)meteoroids, fighters, bombers etc but useless against energy weapons like LASERs, MASERs, GRASERs, neutron pulse/beam, graviton lace etc. And those are covered by the Firestorm perk by default.

Something like a gravity shear projector, whose primary purpose is tearing apart opposing ships with a secondary fire mode of placing a gravity shear plane, that redirects/deflects incoming fire, near your ship is closer to being an actual shield.

In which Aisha gets so eldritch that she weirds out a multidimensional shard of lovecraftian space worms...

I enjoyed the focus on Aisha as an active participant in the Celestial Forge team. Despite the amount of "screen time" she gets in the story, too often her role has been something between the Doctor's companion and the five year old child from the Evil Overlord List.

I agree with other posters that the new point reduction will allow the story to focus more on the plot and characters, while improving the pacing.

Why did Garment not get a key along with the rest of the Celestial Forge? Did she already have one? Is that why there is an entrance in the back of her shop?

While a good humiliation congo line for Emma seems to be almost a requirement for a Worm fanfic, it is harder to enjoy them than it used to be. I've started to see her less as a cruel betrayer and more of a victim of gang violence suffering from a psychotic break—and then getting the worst possible treatment for it courtesy of Sophia.

As always, thank you for the story.

She already had one from ages past (three days ago) when Joe personally handed her one, cementing her as his one twue wuv. 😇

As for Firestorm: about time Joe learned the Kzinti Lesson from the other side.

Something that would have been incredibly risky earlier in my career was not just a pleasant point of convenience

Currently we were examining the entrance hall that had been added to her pseudo beach house. After the last overlay from Lord of Light was even more like a palace than it had been before, and that opulence extended to the entrance hall.

Pffft, maybe for normie tinkers that's true. If your weapon can't destroy lasers, gravity and the concept of aggression itself, is it really a work of the Celestial Forge?

Not actually harmful, just… irritable. Like they had both forced themselves to stay awake way too long and ended up in a sour mood because of it.
"I feel... thin. Like butter, scraped over too much bread."

If anything the slower rate of power would give me a chance to fully utilize my current abilities before I had to deal with new powers and all the memories and experiences that could come coupled with them.
Can only be a good thing. While sitting in a cave and powering up is the logical choice from a character perspective, I want to see interactions with the outside world. Phenomenal cosmic power that never really gets used ain't much fun.

On a side note, Leet has had... maybe a week of real time to work on his Ultimate Project Thing. That's enough time for a Tinker to come up with something that would threaten a member of the Celestial Forge, right? (/s)

Also, if possible, could you please post the current number of available points at the end of the chapters? It would be very helpful in keeping track of what perks would be available for upcoming rolls! Thanks again for all that you do and keep up the great work!!!

Due to 8 keys being obtained which were actually rolled with 900 the bank is down to 100 making the next roll for 300 it will be a long way off tho since there's now a 12k shadow and then the 8k between rolls. It's also pretty likely to drop even further since quality is down to 2 blessing skills combos being the last things there.

I nodded. I didn't like the idea of cutting any of their durations short, but this was something we had never prepared for. While physically they were fine, the extra time definitely had a mental and spiritual effect on them. Not actually harmful, just… irritable. Like they had both forced themselves to stay awake way too long and ended up in a sour mood because of it.

It's funny that they're basically Mr. Meeseeks from Rick and Morty with that.

Wonder if there's an innateness to such copies/creations that could be found with study.

I think I realised something. The chief of police complained on tv about the prt preventing them on investigating on the Taylor case. Taylor right now is internet news, once more information on getting stuck in a locker in january get publicaly revealed, people are going to get really interested why the prt blocked the case. Piggot really can't take a break.

Not to mention there's bound to be some Winslow students posting in the video chat about what other things the trio did to Taylor, maybe pondering how it's usually Hess that does the physical attacks or something and eventually the PRT is going to be alerted to Shadow Stalker's illicit civilian activities.

It's great to have the excuse of Joe's luck perks to build up the background events like Emma, Taylor, the police, and Brian's identity finally being revealed tomorrow.

(Re)Design the Final Frontier to act as a battering ram to get it high quality shielding - because what's better for a ship being used in melee than one that can swing around for a second go?

More like 'designing literal Hell Speech to speak to her on her level'.
