Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

*GASP!* A addition without more powers added at the end?

Is it possible?

Write as you can.
Who wants to bet the Forge actually got tired of this being put off and is holding the rolls back until Tetra's settled? It's absolutely sentient, things don't reach that metaphysical level with out at least picking some sentience up on the way there.

Huh.

Imagine the horizon, a line dividing heaven from all that is below it.

Imagine a wall. A wall of water, a crushing wall that sweeps away mountains like anthills and simply erases cities.

Now imagine that wall, in space. A wall of obliteration that flattens and reduces worlds to naught but clouds of cold inert dust.

Imagine that wall is a wildfire. Imagine a worm is but a single tree.

Near instantaneous ignition occurs.

How will Cauldron feel when the greatest threat known to them is swallowed up like a matchstick in hell, and in their minds, replaced with something even worse, when it specifically rests beyond any parahuman power to analyze, approach and beat back?

How will Cauldron feel, when every war-crime they have committed is pointless? When they have no way of defending humanity from this new threat, and the only person who could stands beside it in alliance? What level of despair can a human reach, when even death means nothing in the face of that beast?

With the exception of the fact that Joe can subtly manipulate perception and reaction to his abilities in order to de-escalate the situation and prevent conflicts.

I think Joe has more "older brother" vibes than parent vibes.

Even though he has three kids currently.
Yeah, kinda been waiting for him to realise he's a father several times over already.
I wonder if Survey has been deliberately not highlighting the PHO speculation about her and Apeiron? Because Joe's reaction should be more emphatic along the lines of "what? No way! I raised her since she was just a couple of algorithms in a mapping program! That's just wrong…" *sudden apepiphany noises*

Practically, the effects were harrowing. Anyone she touched she could enhance or drain at any point she wished. Anywhere she went, anything or anyone she touched, she could return to. Because she was already there. She was always there. Always connected. A persistent and instantaneous version of Mouse Protector's teleportation ability was actually one of the least significant aspects of her power, particularly when you consider the breadth of what a 'connection' could mean to someone like Tetra.

So I assume from this he knows about Mouse protector and has a plan to put her back together again whole in mind and body?

So, Tetra just developed the ability to emulate an Entity, just better in every way is my takeaway here.

Pretty much, yep.

Innately multidimensional multiple times over, divinely unbreakable interfaces between her and her partners or components, infinite energy through the spiral.

Her being too spicy for mortals to handle is still a problem, but I don't think it's an insurmountable one, and Joe may well have already taken care of that. Depends on whether he left anything out of his summary overview.

All I was thinking was, finally it's over with...and does Joe even need this? Will he ever need to use Tetra? He's one or two steps shy of omnipotence at this point

I didn't really feel like the several paragraphs describing his lantern shield when it amounted to "it's strong and versatile but it's a minor work" was needed. I feel like Lord wanted to contrast that with what he'll do with Tetra but it kinda fell flat to me.

The shield ended up being a bit fillery for me and aside from a handful of details that stood out to me, the rest of Tetra's procedure was a blur simply because it had too many things to keep track of.

My favorite part was Joe's conversation with his dublicates. Especially the whole " work in mysterious ways" comment lol. Not only was it lighthearted, it also acknowledged that sooner or later souls will start ending up there and Joe's now making a move to do something aside from prepare for the 9

It's more just the nature of things the bank was empty at the start of the chapter the first roll was magic which only has 2 600s so nothing could be gained and the other roll was alchemy which only had 1 (mixing mixtures) of it's 6 options possible to get with 400. Outside of the personal reality constellation there aren't a lot of perks below 600 left there's only 1 300 for example. Due to this perks will tend to be pr or 600s the next roll for example will be with 600.

On another note this is actually a pretty big new thing with the process and not just Joe discovering a new element (Dragon). Tetra got the ability to stay connected to everyone she has touched to boost or drain them as she pleases. Aside from being able to be independent without the avid glove she touched and drained March to the point of burning her during the ungodly hour. Based on how it works there's a chance she could notice March is still alive and that could even help with locating the pocket dimension where she, Bakuda, Uber and Leet are all holed up.
