To be fair, it was a nice nasty letterIt's now the Seventy Maxims of Ridiculously Effective Robot Pilots. The Seven Habits people sent some nasty letters.
You mean he isn't going to do it anyway? Knowing this crazy-ass thread, I fully expect us to be on page 704 by the time Stryp manages to post...
Did I call it, or did I call it (extenuating circumstances not withstanding). What do I get?704 from the dog-man with the hat... Do I hear more? 709! 709 from the Shinji in brown clothing! It's a good thread, people, there is more in it! Do I hear more than 709?
thing's
In all seriousness, that is a hell of a good idea.Hang on a minute...
If Kaworu's sill alive by EoE time... SEELE's gonna get one hell of a surprise!
Well, the point is, with the Fake Spear, you can in fact use a normal giant humanoid mecha to fight AT Field wielding enemies. Neither Trident nor Jet Alone are really ideal for holding a spear or the weird hilt-less saber that is its other form, but you could design a new true mecha to wield that thing.Hmmm... I like T-RIDEN-T's flight capability, but that arm structure just doesn't look suitable for an overhand throw of the replica spears. Or throwing at all, really -- you'd be forced to use it as a thrusting spear, although the T-RIDEN-T being airborne would allow it to get into stabby range easily. Jet Alone seems better for throwing it.
Also, how likely would it be for Rei, if Shinji and Asuka invited her into their relationship, to refuse because she somehow started to believe that she would negatively affect what they have?
If that was the reason they really, really bungled that up, seeing how sending Kaworu apparently, as you noted, put them under time stress as well.My best guess is, since both Gendo and SEELE need the last Angel dead before they can initiate 3I, holding onto Kaworu delays Gendo's plans until SEELE's preparations are already complete.
Perhaps, but given that this is NGE that seems almost... too mundane. Plus, Gendo was never really afraid of that assault and he has no reason to be. He has Lilith, Adam and Rei. Everything he needs for his 3I. While the assault is going on, he can initate his 3I. Which is exactly what he planned in EoE, until Rei said "Ikari needs me".Perhaps Gendo expected an EVA without normal limits to be useful for fighting off SEELE's inevitable assault on Tokyo-3?
That is one problem with EoE. We have no idea how the different 3I scenarios differ from each other. In the end, it seems like they all come true. It's like EoE saying "This is Third Impact, shut up about details and enjoy the weirdness."On the other hand, when SEELE was getting tanged in the Impact that did occur, they didn't exactly seem pissed about it.
True, but the way they couch it into a quasi-religious argument... to Gendo, to whom they don't need to pretend anything... hm.Good point, although if their 3I plan does involve combining both Fruits, they could rather be referring to the creation of a godlike being separate from what they want to turn mankind into -- a potential rival for divinity. They mean for man to become god, not create one.
Yeah indeed. What you describe is pretty much an angel. Adamite soul + LCL = independent Adamite body = Angel. I suppose, if you could somehow make the "body taking form thing" happen within the confines of an EVA "armour", i.e. EVA restraints maybe it could work. Maybe. But I wouldn't bet on it.Remember that in Eva, it appears that soul (and associated AT field) + LCL = organism, at least while the organism is alive (after all, slaughtering a chicken results in a bucket of KFC, not a bucket of LCL); consider Shinji absorbed into Unit-01, or the tanging and potential reconstitution of humanity in 3I. Presumably Adamite Angels function similarly, but with a different constituent liquid (one made of particle-wave matter?). I was wondering about the possibility of bypassing physical construction of an EVA by directly forming one out of the Adamite-equivalent to LCL (ACL?) through introduction of a soul drawn from Adam's Room of Guf. (Other than the mechanical parts -- build those conventionally, submerge them in working fluid, form EVA around the mechanical parts via soul voodoo?) The trick would be figuring out how to make the process result in an Evangelion, rather than an angel. Talk about "experiencing technical difficulties" if they screwed that up...

Not an update!Did I call it, or did I call it (extenuating circumstances not withstanding). What do I get?![]()
Funnily enough, "Rei" is a non-gendered name.
Asuka confirmed as Teutonic Knight.Shinji's omake would involve Asuka drop-kicking the source of his nightmates while wearing polish cavelry armor. Or maybe Kruezritter armor, or maybe just driving a '42 Porsche.
Asuka: "How about I find myself a battering ram and come knock down your house?Asuka confirmed as Teutonic Knight.
...which of course is a rather sucky unit, but hey. (AoE2 still rocks)
You don't even get siege rams!Asuka: "How about I find myself a battering ram and come knock down your house?"
Für der Kaiser! Für Gott!In all seriousness, that is a hell of a good idea.

So let's see... Kaworu commanding the MP series... a true mecha with a fake Spear... *begins scribbling down*
....well, actually, it's very much possible of course. Even somewhat likely. It depends on how it is built up. If we assume the slow build-up to A/R/S continues as is (which of course it might not, and God and LilithPrime only know what Stryp's plans are)... Rei has kissed Shinji and Rei has kissed Asuka. Indeed a very slow and gradual buildup. If this continues, it may not need a grand gesture to have Rei "invited in". By the time it becomes official, she might be so involved with both anyway that what you say might not be a great concern.

And I don't like the Classified Information thing. Yeah, to be quite honest, that's all that I can bring up as an argument. I think it much more interesting if SEELE does in fact have some sort of grand scenario for humanity (or rather, for Lilithian life) rather than just trying to set themselves up as immortal gods and screw the rest. However, the CI does seem to corelate with something else I stumbled over once - the (only very partially translated) initial scripts for EoE. Apparently, the Gendo/SEELE conversation there mentions "other worlds", and if I remember the implications right it was that SEELE wanted humanity to assume an eternal EVA form so they can settle other worlds, while Gendo basically thinks this is crazy.

On that note:
Not an update!
Funnily enough, "Rei" is a non-gendered name.
But if we go with the "(Female!)Rei doesn't menstruate" interpretation, Male!Rei might still not be up to the job.

The "German Order" (really, "Teutonic Order" is a bit of a mistranslation), despite its name, took great care to establish an independent state and were not part of the Holy Roman Empire
More like they are the bane of Lithuania and Poland if allowed to grow.Even more funny, so is Kaoru... which Kaworu is a variant of.
It's not "sucky" in Total War.
All native Prussians. While the name came to denote a German-speaking region and even state, originally the Prussians were a Baltic people, related to Lithuanians and Latvians. The German Order basically exterminated them, and then settled Germans there. So yes, genocide.Didn't the Teutonic Knights kinda exterminate all the native Germans of the regions they conquered?
I was sure that he wrote Walking in the Shadow of Dreams first. Am I wrong?
That's in the rewrite of Walking. The original version was, IIRC, written prior to (the original) Nobody Dies. Original Walking was a complete story, while the rewrite is in-progress (I hope).Pretty sure it came after, as there's a bit with dimensional travel fuckery in ND that pretty much leads directly into WitSoD.
I have butchered these twats so many times. Denmark, Lithuania, Novgorod... good times, good campaigns.
Don't forget Poland and the HRE.I have butchered these twats so many times. Denmark, Lithuania, Novgorod... good times, good campaigns.
They operated from territory bestowed to them by Poland. And the Ordensstaat itself was never part of the HRE. What remained after the reformation was basically a good old boys club of the Catholic nobility, anyway, and did not include fighting knights.@Susano
They needed permission from the Hohenstaufen to establish their Orderstaat and were technically under the power of the Kaiser, besides, once their Great Master turned Protestant, the remaining knights travelled to Austria and swore loyalty to the Habsburg Emperor.
Didn't they accepted to be Poland's vassal only after the Battle of Grunwald? They operated from territory bestowed to them by Poland. And the Ordensstaat itself was never part of the HRE. Well, they argued that the territory that they had conquered themselves would of course be theirs, but they started their campaign from the Kulmerland, around Kulm/Chelmo, which was given to them as a fief by Poland.Didn't they accepted to be Poland's vassal only after the Battle of Grunwald?
I thought that would be France or Spain.I pretty much never play as them. HRE is my fucking archnemesis.
...I pretty much never play as them. HRE is my fucking archnemesis.
I don't actually play as England much.
Then there is the issue of them being invited by Poland in the first place, which implies a certain degree of freedom.Well, they argued that the territory that they had conquered themselves would of course be theirs, but they started their campaign from the Kulmerland, around Kulm/Chelmo, which was given to them as a fief by Poland.
This one is more appropiate for an Englander.
Edit: So you play as France, Denmark or any of the Italian states?I don't actually play as England much.

Yep. What's your point?
Anyway, back on topic.
Amen, fuck the hre. MOORS FOREVERI pretty much never play as them. HRE is my fucking archnemesis.
