Edit: @Lord Sovereign Back on topic, the HRE is a good faction overall and is my second favorite faction of Medieval 2, the first spot is taken by Spain.
A shame that we couldn't have an update of the kingdoms units for Byzantium, those guys are fun to play as well.
I don't think the Ottomans would say the same.Said Reich which had a long and illustrious history of getting its arse whooped
Ok, I'll give you that.
for a sufficiently loose definition of "on topic"
I love the Habsburg CoAs. Especially when I can figure out what every arms segment means (or near enough)
Schwarz-Rot-Gold predates Black-White-Red. It was the colour of the democratic, pan-German movement in the Spring of Nations, 1848, already. That is the thing: Until the end of WW2 kinda settled that debate, the two colours were in a sort of ideological conflict, with clearly denoted roles: Black-White-Red was the flag the authoritarian, conservative elements preferred. Meanwhile, Black-Red-Gold are the democratic German colours. So not just the Bundesrepublik. Also 1848, and the Weimar Republic. But Bundesrepublik is pretty good as well. I plan on visiting at some point.
You do know what this thread's topic is, right?Back on topic however, the Holy Roman Empire is my preferred faction in Medieval 2 (probably due to my "Empire" fetish) hence why I despise the name "Milan" to this very day.
Unless Asuka after this is over uses Unit-2 to conquer Europe... how does this affect A&T??
Implying Asuka would not use her leverage as world hero to reestablish the Reich with her and Shinji as Emperors.Unless Asuka after this is over uses Unit-2 to conquer Europe... how does this affect A&T??
All Hail the Imperial House of Zeppelin!Implying Asuka would not use her leverage as world hero to reestablish the Reich with her and Shinji as Emperors.

Zeppelin-Icarus, our heroine wouldn't let her husband fall to obscurity.
Zeppelin-Icarus, our heroine wouldn't let her husband fall to obscurity.
Though I wonder if Shinji gets Spain or Hungary to make the parallel complete.
Yeah, this is a thread about a fanfiction of Evangelion. I'd suggest statements about World War 1 and its conception head to a more appropriate thread.Hey hey hey, there was nothing wrong with the old Kaiserreich, it's just that Wilhelm the Second was a deformed war mongering twat.
Yeah, because Austrians aren't so xenophobic it could be a meme. /sarcasm
Indeed. It means more valuing the German cause above everything else in the world, not Germany being superior to everyone else in the world. And yes, 1848 as well. The term "Deutschland Deutschland Uber Alles!" and the song to which it belongs, hail from the time you're mentioning right?
OTOH, Shinji might want to let the name of his SEELE grandfather, crazy scientist mother and (by marriage) evil bastard father fade into obscurity.Zeppelin-Icarus, our heroine wouldn't let her husband fall to obscurity.
I mean, it wasn't the cause of everything that was wrong with the Kaiserreich by a long shot, but... Idiot Billy WAS a deranged, warmongering twat.
So:Yeah, this is a thread about a fanfiction of Evangelion. I'd suggest statements about World War 1 and its conception head to a more appropriate thread.
Especially since this one's so wrong!
I think Austria fits more as a place that Shinji would be.
Yeah, remind me you stole our hymn, why don't you. *pout*Indeed. It means more valuing the German cause above everything else in the world, not Germany being superior to everyone else in the world. And yes, 1848 as well.
Yeah, as you might know, you were... kinda part of that German cause, you know The Kleindeutsche Lösung was all pragmatism. Of course Austrians were seen, and saw themselves, as Germans back then (and really up to, ehem, losing WW2).
Wait, Shinji is the Justice card.
