Oh shoot, I can't believe I forgot that he melded with Adam. It's been so long ago. Yeah it makes sense that he'd be able to use an AT field with Adam in his hand.

This was what I was wondering too, everybody close to him is at NERV while he's alone at home right? If SEELE attacks right now, he's going to have a really hard time sneaking into NERV to get to Unit 01.

In this fic? ...Well, she had to know since before the kids almost got assassinated, seeing as how she turned said assassins into mulch. ...Though i am not sure how this copy can do any of that given she's, what, a month old and...well pretty much been just on the shelf till now?

Because I don't think it's very likely? Rei III is either incapacitated or dead. We might get her waking up, busting out, and rushing in to save the day at the last second but I don't think that's nearly as plausible Rei IV experiencing a download the moment she connects to Lilith. Hell, possibly even just the moment she gets too close to Lilith physically.

Dang, I missed that. I thought Rei IV blocked the bullet too. But no, this confirms Gendo has Adam embedded in his hand.

I was wondering a bit about this too. The only reason I can think of why Gendo wouldn't kill Misato, Kaji, and Ritsuko right then and there is that he wants to use them as hostages to force Asuka and Hikari to cooperate. He still needs their Evangelions to fight against the JSSDF and MP Evas after all.

Also something I was wondering. Either Gendo doesn't know nearly as much as he thinks he does (for instance, he may be in the dark about Misato having an anti-AT field bullet if he just assumed his AT field would stop it) or he just believes that with Rei III out of the way everyone else is just irrelevant.

I will say that if Gendo did not order Fuyutsuki to kill Rei III, just render her unconscious, that's an interesting soft spot in his plans. Maybe he thinks he can blackmail her to do his bidding if Rei IV doesn't work out. On the other hand, if she's being slowly poisoned, which is more likely, it's going to have to be Ritsuko or Kaworu who know enough to rescue her.

Rei has been learning to resist her medication, so she might be able to fight it for a while, but I'm assuming she must be conscious. It's really up to whether someone can get to her and wake her up. I think it's probably obvious what's going to happen, but they're going to have to hurry. And I won't spoiler it even though I'm pretty sure I picked up on the relevant clue.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant that Rei must be conscious in order to use her AT field to force the poisons out of her body. She can hold on for a time, but if it takes too long, her rescuer could arrive too late. Meaning our only remaining option is Rei/Lilith's soul having to force takeover of either Rei IV or Lilith's body. It could happen, I mean Kaworu appeared during Instrumentality, but if we get to that point we're probably screwed anyway.

It could be Gendo ordered her killed, but Fuyutsuki couldn't bring himself to go through with it. The old man arguably simps for Yui even more than Gendo does, and Rei does look just like a young Yui.
 
I have a question inspired by the "Mega man Battle Network" series. If the Magi could be jacked into, what do you thing it's network would look like?


My guess, it would look similar to the Mother computer from Mega man Battle Network 2. For the enemy viruses, they would be at least last stage level if not optional super dungeon level.
 
Well, I imagine TODAY would be a pretty crappy day for Shinji, Asuka, Rei and Kaworu. Shinji and Rei have GENDO as their father, Asuka has Mr. Langley and the most apparent father figure Kaworu has is KEEL LORENZ from the SEELE council. Misato fits well into the role of mother figure to the group, but Kaji…I'm not so certain he truly fits the father figure in the same way. Still, I imagine they'd celebrate him in thanks for his support and for making Misato a very happy lady.

Kaji is a better father figure then the other people you mentioned, if nothing else. Plus, outside of his manga self(i will never forgive that guy for what he said to Shinji to get him back in the Eva after Toji died) he's not a bad guy in general and does care.

I myself am more curious about Kensuke, Kyoko, and Sayaka. ...Plus, what does Momo think of Kensuke?
