But the drop ceilings in my home won't support her weight, (semi-feral cats drop through on occasion) so even if she can squeeze through my vents, she can't get anywhere in them

I hope none of the good people die. On another note here is some dialog I predict for when Gendo is defeated. The inspiration comes from the end of the first season of Gundam 00.

Rei: Well Gendo, you played the part of the jester sooo welll.

Gendo: What is that susposed to mean?

Rei: you should know that this is no longer your scenario or Seele's. It is now mine. Know that the future of Nerv is in my capable hands.

Gendo: No! you weren't supposed to defy me. Everything was supposed to end in my victory!

Rei: That is what makes you a small man. :p

I have a question related to Advice and Trust. What would be a karmic fate for Asuka's parents: Mr. Langley and the step mother? I imagine this for each of them.

Step mother: because she tried to drug Asuka when she was little, she gets arrested and imprisoned plus loses her medical license.

Mr. Langley: Due to a will written by Kyoko that he tried to hide, he loses everything and ends up as gigolo.

I would imagine that the worst thing to happen to them would be falling into irrelevance.

Asuka would, rightfully, leave the custody of her father and become an offical charge to Misato or her Mother. Mr. Langley would have no pull in whatever the remains of NERV are molded into. I'd imagine that his unethical behavior during the early training would bite him in the ass, and the UN kicks him out to save face from controversy.

If you're particularly vindictive, you could have the nurse be a gold digger. When Langley gets the boot, she leaves him. With the final shot being him drinking in a german bar, seeing his daughter on a tv screen smiling with some brown haired boy at her side.

Funny enough, the idea of the step mother being gold digger crossed my mind. For that matter after Mr. Langley is given the boot, wouldn't he also be arrested for his corrupt actions?

As of yet, at least. With his track record, even if it was only desperation, I can wholly see Mr. Langley doing something stupid and not only getting a permanent ticket out of Asuka's life forever but also getting at least minor charges pressed against him.

If Misato was feeling particularly vindictive over Asuka's so-called father barging back into her life and making a hash of everything, i'm sure she could get his past actions and infidelity twisted into charges of neglect and child endangerment by proxy of not stopping his medical license voiding, gold-digger of a 2nd wife dosing his daughter with suppressants and the like.

Yes, I can easily see Misato doing that if Mr. Langley becomes a problem. Of course if she and Asuka are truly vindictive towards him, they could secretly provoke him into trying to be a problem without him knowing he played into their hands.

Very true. That said, whilst i'm sure she'd be sorely tempted, I imagine Asuka wanting to be a mature adult who's better at having common sense than her father and step-mother apparently were/are, so being the bigger person might be the order of the day.
