Page 1600!

1500 was in October, and I've been here even longer. Time moves weirdly when you're waiting for WAFF :V

We're about 22 posts off 40,000 posts in this thread total, as well. I know there's longer threads on SV by far, but it's still kind of staggering how much mileage the WAFF has.

WAFF is an amazingly efficient fuel for the Evangelion engine block.

Which is strange, considering this kind of engine block was never designed to run on such a thing, a mixture of psychological horror and sadness often being the fuel of choice.

The average mechanic might not even think to try using this kind of fuel in the Evangelion engine block; while it tends to perform well in engines specifically designed for such a fuel, such as the high horsepower FiM block, attempting to transplant such fuel into other engine blocks tends to result in... strange outcomes.

But when introduced to the Evangelion engine (often as a mixture of the stock PsyH fuel, of varying ratios depending on the whims of the mechanic), it has many benefits for the engine block as a whole. Great mileage, a smooth ride, and other benefits will come your way if you switch to Bio-WAFF today!
Side effects may include melting into a puddle, squeeing to death, and a strong desire to protect those within the engine block. We are not responsible for any uprisings if Bio-WAFF fails and causes the engine to explode with sadness and horror.

Though sadly incomplete I think the Chronicles crew would be both amazed and horrified at And If That Don't Work because one of the first scenes is the Russians NUKING the first Angel and it works. (With some unfortunate consequences to those near the blast radius... like Shinji and Misato)

IIRC Asuka gets a Chain Glaive at some point too.

Random thought brought about by a video I watched not long ago: Do you think Adam/Kaworu and Lilith/Rei know whether or not protons decay? Or would that be something that not even the Far Ancestral Race would've figured out?

The fact that FAR knew that does not mean that few survivors left cared enough to learn about the subject. If you ask a random person from Earth about, say, Schrödinger equation (a basic and relatively old concept from quantum mechanics), there is a high chance they would have no idea. So, the answer is probably no, unless one of them was actually a physicist. Alternatively, they could've carried repository of FAR lore, but I doubt that (their knowledge was one of the factors in their fall).

To be fair, even if they don't know already at least the Chronicles crew can travel through time and could theoretically follow one single proton for it's lifetime.

The problem is that even their Super Solenoids have a power limit for checking the future, so they'd need to randomly hit one that was just about to decay.

Of course that leads to other possibly terrifying questions like: "What if the universe is on the verge of the next great Phase Shift"? (this theory brought to you by the fact that the Big Bang was immediately followed by 2 or 3 states of reality before it'd decompressed and cooled enough for matter to separate out. Theoretically the universe could go through another Phase Shift that ripples through the universe like a bottle of pure water freezing)

That one is a Adam Kadmon fic; it's titled Soloist.
Just read the fic and WOOOOOOOOOW! Asuka is a complete and utter Narcissistic BITCH!

Asuka's dorm was meticulous in its sense of decorum, matched only by its sense of cleanliness. Neither of which belonged to her. The dorm was technically a two-story townhouse meant to board four, but through some careful continued negotiations involving blackmail, extortion and planted baggies of prescription drugs, Asuka had secured a somewhat comfortable base of operations. As the house became a revolving door for delightful new roomies the faculty forced on her, the higher-ups finally got wise and decided to just let her have the damn thing for herself. But the best of the worst was nothing to be proud of. While the townhouse contained four bedrooms, a kitchen and full bathroom, it was undeniably still a student domicile. Asuka was somehow expected to live in these substandard conditions. Her mother insisted on a proper collegiate experience, which meant forced interaction with the dirty ignorant masses. Granted, admissions and stress-related suicides weeded out the truly poor and stupid, but she found college to be little more than a high school you were trapped in, just with more morning after pills and hard liquor. It further diminished her peers in comparison to her. And they were already so low to begin with.

Why was this girl so proud of the debilitating grotesquery of a conventional courtship? All that effort and time and energy, for what payoff? Marriage and kids? Draining shackles the static dead enders of society convinced you to strive for to perpetuate the species at the cost of freedom and individual achievement. All Asuka had was Maya, her dumb live-in maid/puppy, and that was exhausting enough. Her mother didn't need a man to raise the picture of perfection that was Asuka. She just made the decision to have a beautiful, brilliant, talented daughter and scientifically ensured she got one. Everyone else blindly paired up out of desperation for crapshoot kids. It was baffling. And who wanted non-Asuka kids to begin with?

Same here. A fic also did a pretty good job of showing how...self-destructive Asuka is. One set of scenes in particular was how Asuka kissed Shinji while he was dating Hikari, Shinji told Hikari a while later, Hikari broke up with him. When Asuka asked Shinji what he did to Hikari(cause of course she'd be saddened by all that) Shinji bluntly told Asuka it's what we did, not i, and Asuka goes oh...i think crap.
she did not just kiss him... she raped him by getting him drunk.

A random thought i've had after seeing all the different versions of Rei depicted via this thread, from the various canon Reis, A&T Rei, the omake Reis, the fic/doujin Reis and whoever else. Do you think, sooner or later, one of the Reis from something like Chronicles or Inheritance is going to get inducted/invited into some sort of League of Multidimensional Reis, ala Rick and Morty? Or would that be more Kaworu's thing? :p

Ten bucks says Terrifying!Rei starts it.

Technically, she already did.

Ten bucks says Terrifying!Rei starts it.
A&T/Chronicles!Rei: "...I admit, I am intrigued by the idea of a spring-loaded stuffed Angel in my closet to scare the living hell out of snoopers."
A&T!Rei, possibly influenced by Hangover!Rei, would be more likely to just have an empty bucket sitting in their closet with a note at the bottom it says 'hint'.
If all these Reis start turning up in the same place, we really ought to start numbering them. Then, at least, it'd get marginally less confusing.

Asuka walks into Rei's apartment...

"Rei?"

...only to get, much to her alarm, about 20 "Yes?"s in reply.

That's hardly a problem. There are, after all, always more numbers.

Wait, what if we have an uncountable infinity of Reis, overlapping at every single point in space and time? The world would be doomed by Cantor diagonali-Rei-tion!

...At least, if that ever happens, the resulting universe-sized black hole would make the task of counting-- and SEELE and the Angels, for that matter-- utterly irrelevant.

In the bright future of Advice and Trust's 41st mille of posts, there is only WAFF.*

EDIT: Of course, with the looming confrontations, there may, in fact, be something of a WAFF deficiency coming
