Have we actually got to that stage now with me? Wow, I'm almost honoured. That's actually going in my signature now.

How much have I pissed you people off over the past year or so?

To be honest; I find your Warhammer 40,000 references absolutely hilarious.

Mainly because a part of me really wants to write a cross between them one day. :V

@Lord Sovereign , you don't "piss me off", but I do find incessant refference to one's favorite fandom taglines to be annoying, if they don't match the subject of the thread at hand. Oh, it can be amusing, I don't deny that, but like many things, it can be overdone. :)

@ManusDomineThere's already a few of those, both as a tabletop game in-universe and full-blown crossovers.

Yeah, I am aware of those; though I found most of them rather droll, maybe with the exception of @Academia Nut's Thousand Shinji, which is hilarious.

If I were to write a cross between Evangelion and Warhammer, it would probably be in the style of @EarthScorpion's Aeon Entelechy Evangelion, meaning that I would write it as a fusion and not a straight crossover and instead take elements of each and mix them together.

Off topic discussion is off topic.

So, how do you guys think Rei II will transition to Rei III (beyond the boring route of character death)?

Thanks to the time-capsule nature of being dissolved into LCL and kept in the core, and EVA can be used as a plot device for getting a pilot to the forty first millennium. Hell, in the fic "The Reborn Warriors" (and The Final Crusade), both by Matt Coates, this is how Shinji and Asuka end up making it to the future.

...Da fuq is this shit!?
Oh well
@Ranma-sensei: I have a feeling there won't be a Rei III, and Kaworu will take her place fighting the Angel, perhaps having a similar love (and not simply attraction) epiphany towards Rei as Rei did toward Shinji in canon. Adds plenty of angst for Rei for the upcoming Instrumentality.

Earlier there was talk that Rei III not remembering Kaworu would be the cause for him becoming Tabris. Having it be the other way around with a Tabris that doesn't remember Rei is an interesting idea.

That wasn't what I had in mind. I just thought Kaworu would die and stay dead, dying a hero and hurting Rei enough to be willing to go along with Instrumentality maybe (though I don't think she'd willingly do it with Shinji and Asuka in the picture, so that's out). Rei only vaguely remembering Shinji, Rei, Kaworu, and the rest could be something good to deal with (especially since Shinji won't just be scared to talk to her now that he's more confident, and Asuka is her friend too).

My headcanon is, if she is about to die, she'll ask A&S to ask Dr. Akagi to "see Rei" and after she dies and comes back, where she'll show them the Rei clones (and not kill them this time, now that she's saner with Maya helping her).

So long as Rei I stays in Unit 00's core, won't Rei III basically be Rei II since the last memory dump?

That is equal parts awesome and horrible!

Well I literally haven't joined the site official until now, but from what I've seen you are good even if you were a bit derailing with 40k references (Emperor protects friend). I also respect you for researching depression and how it affects Shinji and Anno, something very few detractors of Evangelion ever do (instead falling back on the "Shinji's a whiny coward fallacy).
