So... would it be crass to remind Kyouko to not waste Grief Seeds to starvation in front of Sayaka?
I'd rather just ask if we can meet up with her sometime tomorrow, pick a spot on our calendar, and
talk with her about it. She's responsible for Yuma, and as long as we couch it in those terms I don't see why we can't go over the hypothetical "what happens if Sabrina isn't in town or something" with her at lunch and lichbomb her for safety while we're at it.
ANYWAY, the point was that Kyouko would've fucking witched out by now if not for our visits, which is pretty obvious from her grief state every time we come over. There was some discussion and it seems that generally, Kyouko is starved out of Kasamino by, like, a week or a week and a half ago, and forced to go to Mitakihara, Mami or no.
This presents the plausible issue of the Sakura Church. If Firn considers its demolition "canon", then it follows that
most likely, Kyouko
never hears about it in 99% of timelines, because she is starved out of Kasamino before the fliers she found get distributed. Given the impact it had on her (She actually let out a "I hate myself, I killed my family" to us before clamping her mouth shut), it seems plausible that it could cause a grief spiral in combination with the lack of witches.
Getting her into Mitakihara, however, is... problematic. It only really works when she's honestly starved out and is forced to seek help from Mami. We're kind of in the way of that.
The option of "have Sayaka handle it" is
not something I approve of. To an extent, letting Sayaka deal with this is easy and OK.
But it hits
all the wrong notes.
Yuma
begged us to help Kyouko. Kyouko let slip that she hates herself and killed her family (from her POV). The classical magical girl response to those things is
not "let somebody else handle it," the proactive response to "guca starving, hates herself, hunting for two" is
not "don't address it directly and swiftly."
Arguably Kyouko is worse off for our existence. If not for us, she would've taken Yuma and headed for Mitakihara and Mami already, and if Mami was alive she would've taken them in
happily.
The screwy thing is that at this point, if we skip a day or two of visiting Kyouko, there's a very real chance she'll witch.
