Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

I have two ideas. One, make the Red Dead Redemption series a saga of movies.

Or Two, full send it and turn Space Station 13 into a movie series.

Most likely.

Unless carter rolls some bad rolls, which hopefully won't happen.

Hopefully

Well Carter has been rather based and rolled extremely well in foreign policy (Save for Iran still happening) throughout the Quest so hopefully he can get it done. If not him then surely Reagan.

By the way in foreign affairs, is the Iran-Iraq War still going to happen as OTL? It just kicked off last turn and this period is huge in determining if either side wins or if it becomes a stalemate as OTL. We've already wiped away Afghanistan and the Iran-Iraq War will be the next big thing for the Middle East that'll decide how it stands today.

Just because Steve has a trait, does not mean there are certian places that negate it because North African shooting is hell.

Tell it to Everyone from Harrison ford, to Karen Allen, to george himself...

That major Bruh moment when all the hell of filming is done, George remembers that he has to go back to Tunisia for Return of the Jedi and has to break the news to Steve.

Yes it is, unfortunately...

As for what happens... well I'll roll for it later. next turn again probably.

"Bruce you do it!"

"George, why the hell would i do it?"

"Steve likes you more?"

"He's your best friend!?"

"He Hasn't forgiven me for those 10 days in tunisia!"

"What the fuck happened?!"

"Something really bad!"

-[X]Look at the Script: You want to look at the Script, and make changes, or rather, prevent Colombia from changing it. DC: 50
--[X] Dick Grayson is introduced in the beginning as part of the Flying Graysons with his parents being murdered by Tony Zucco, a mobster working for the Falcons due to his parents not paying them money. Dick is 17 and near the age of emancipation, Gordon is friends with the Graysons so he becomes Dick's ward and Dick and Barbara begin to bond as friends with Dick helping Barbara in the hunt for Batman's identity, but also facing conflict and inner turmoil over a desire to see vengeance. Add a small story about how Batman saved Dick before, and now he's looking for him to get him to accept him and train him, while Barbara wants the same and both help in deactivating the bombs along with Batman and Gordon (in secret of course).
-[X]The Art of a True Batman: You look at the costume designs and how the City will be transformed into Gotham City. DC: 30
-[X]Choosing a Co-Star: Most of everyone is back, but frankly, you are damn sure that Alan isn't going to give you much of anything and give you want to do
--[X] Clint Eastwood as Jim Gordon
--[X] Faye Dunaway as Sarah Essen
--[X] David Patrick Kelley as Edward Nygma/The Riddler
--[X] Robert Shaw as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin
--[X] Jodie Foster as Barbara Gordon
--[X] Alec Guinness as Alfred Pennyworth
--[X] Tom Cruise as Dick Grayson
--[X] Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox

--[X] Dennis Hopper as Salvatore Moroni
--[X] Robert Redford as Harvey Dent
--[X] Billy Crystal as Gino Santana
--[X] Dick Van Patten as Robert Rains
--[X] Richard Mulligan as Gil Colson
-[X]The Way to Shoot: You want to shoot the film your way, and you will do it:
--[X]Ambitious: You are going to use your skill and that of the cinematographers that you have. Everyone knows you have a mind of action movies, so you will use that to keep things fluid, but clear.
-[X]Kathleens' Caper: She had a smile. And for once, you didn't feel like she was having a small breakdown. DC: 40
-[X]Meanwhile in Sunrise: So… Tomino went to Japan and he has an idea. And George is there. You thought he was in San Francisco? DC: 20
-[X]The Break-in: So someone tried to break into the Warehouses in San Francisco? What did they try to steal? DC:???
-[X]Prisoners of the Mind, and Spirit: You think you hadn't seen Carrie pray outside of Mass before. But she was praying for you. DC: 0
-[X]Reports: It seems that people want to see you… and worse, kill you, didn't stop. You have just been able to sleep soundly in the night now. DC: 30
-[X]Train Brandon: Brandon looked at you with a mischievous glance, before he offered. "Come on Bruce, don't tell me that you're scared of a little spar with me?" He was trying to cheer you up. Maybe it was working. DC: 60
-[X]Networking: Well time to start finding out who might actually be interested in meeting you. (Write-in what you want to try and network with)
--[X] Ron Howard. Your old American Graffiti co-star has just ended his time on Happy Days, wanting to break out into filmmaking as a Director. Ron did a decent job with his debut film Grand Theft Auto and you can see the potential in him to become a great director. Reach out to Ron and try to get him to join the Lucasfilms team.
-[X] Spend some time with your kids. You love Mary, Sarah and Joseph and it hurts your heart to cause them confusion and discomfort over your paranoia. Even if you're a A-list filmmaker, you always want to make sure they're loved and you're present in their lives.

Okay for Batman, mostly the same as Overmind's proposal but adjusted for Dick's entry and how to mold him in. I agree with Overmind's revisions as this is the most natural way to have Dick included and it also doesn't rewrite the movie while forming a foundation for Dick and Baraba's friendship. Make sure the art is up to stuff. Use ambitious filmmaking to build upon the last movie's cinematography which was one of the highlights. As strange as it says, Kathleen support.

For the casting, pretty much everyone is returning aside from the minor characters and Falcone and Deadshot. The two major additions are Morgan Freeman as Lucius, and Tom Cruise as Dick/Robin. Tom Cruise is perfect for Robin cause he's got the right talent and capabilities and has just started his acting career. We get an in with one of the Best Actors with Hollywood, and form a friendship to push Tom away from Scientology.

For personal, some Carrie support is much needed to help us through this. Also see the Reports and understand just what kind of danger Bruce is in. Spar with Brandon to help with the therapy and more build up for Kung Fu Kid.

Ron Howard so we can get him to make a movie for the next year and expand our club of Lucasfilms directors. Pretty great director, plus we can get his daughter Bryce to join in the future, and it fits in nicely with us getting American Graffiti again.

Lastly I did the write-in action of having Bruce spend time with the kids, which I think should have been an action. Bruce needs lots of firm support and love to recover, and right now the kids, Mary especially are scared and confused. Bruce needs to be a good Dad and make sure they know he still love them, and that way the parent-child bond isn't strained.

Oooor...we could change the beginning of the movie to have it be in a different place.

Also, can we change the name of the thrid movie? Perhaps to Legacy of the Jedi?

Edit: I'm all for this.

"It has to be Revenge of the Jedi Bruce!"

"George, tell me with a straight face that with all the philosophy and stuff... that the jedi would take revenge?"

"Okay, how about return?"

"That is just stupid, Dave help me out here?"

"Nope, not getting involved in this. this is between you two, and your love child!"

"This is George's lovechild, not mine?"

Dave looks up. "With how you two argue about it it feels like it is."

"George, please think of a better title!"

"There will be no legacy that would imply the jedi end."

"Sweet christ, I'm going to need to go to confession trying to change your mind!"

Also giving you all a freeby.

Flash Gordon releases and will be posted soon by either myself or Overmind... most likely overmind, I want to sleep.

Speaking as someone part of the Chinese diaspora, i think it be pretty cool for the Wuxia Genre to achieve greater heights with Hollywood Money. I'm going by info i picked up via Osmosis, but i believe at this period in time, the Wuixia genre is just starting off and is mainly being headlined by writers in Hong Kong.

And most of these writers are really really strong objectors to the Communist Party at this time. I believe Louis Cha, writer of the Condor Hero series had his books banned from China but was still so popular that people still smuggled it in.

Alot of Wuxia is build on traditional Chinese culture, traditions and History all of which were being stamped on by the Party at this point in time. From what i recall, it took some time before they actually embraced that part of their culture because alot of the ideals involved of Heroes standing up for what's right, going against the Govt etc are not messages they like spread.

Again, i don't really have like actual facts to back this up, alot of this is based on conversations and tidbits i faintly recall from my childhood.

P.S: i remember a bit in Condor Heroes where the Heroes worked to stop an invasion because their duty is to the people and not the corrupt government, so that's probably not a message they would like spread

Since it is October we have to remember that we are just a couple of turns away from Apple's IPO...

We have more than enough money to get it, and thanks to our awesome and upgraded Legal Team I am pretty sure we are getting more than 51% of the stock, but we have to remember to take the investment action in December.

Sometimes I hate myself for the silly.

At least the silly will be more in the movies.

I have a Question were their any movies that were filmed near a battlefield or that the Film crews that got Stranded in a Country in a middle of a war?

So when this Dick Grayson becomes a superhero he skips the "boy wonder" phase and goes straight to being Nightwing? That sounds good. Though we could have him pass down his old acrobat costume for Jason Todd/Tim Drake to become Robin.

So Cyber told me something that was rather funny.

"It's almost sacrilege to think that anyone other than Batman can mess with the GCPD in their own house. In saying that, I hope more Villians start messing with the GCPD in their house so that they can get serious in preventing that from happening."

It may not be funny to you, but to me, its hilarious.
