If the shades are souls then they could maybe be revived by giving them a new body. The main question for me is if the shades are still around and how exactly they work, e.g. blasting Riona with anti magic might have cut off her connection to them, so maybe they've moved on already. I guess we'll have to wait for Sayaka to copy Riona's powers before we'll be able to find out more.
 
While I'll keep going for de-Witching talk - if Sayaka seems on board, want to put as little pressure as possible on her, I'd ask anybody voting to not do this, to let the shades die, to remember we already told Sayaka to copy Riona.

As it stands, that's way too high a Witchbomb risk, so if you don't want Sayaka Witchbombed, that needs to be addressed; ask her to wait on copying Riona.

Does Madoka hold enough Potential to unbar the afterlife?
What I mean to say is, if resurrecting people wasn't possible before, barring a Wish, Madoka might have made it possible with her Wish to "fix everything".

I had thought, I think I know what's the disconnect in "how could Nadia not have found about Riona's shit?".

We know Riona doesn't completely clean up; Nadia doesn't know because she "doesn't stick around", not because there aren't witnesses.

I think the disconnect, the real weird thing here is us.

Not the fact we have a super strong team; I've said before, pretty sure Riona did want to leave without a fight, which would be really weird, given she already gave us all this info. If that's her MO, then Nadia should have found out about Riona's shit at some point, right? No.

We're weird, and it's not our Potential, not our fighting strength. The reason why Nadia hasn't heard from the witnesses of Riona's crimes against humanity is because they're not Nadia's (sort of) friends.

Nadia does business. She needs to make sure her fees are paid, and she can be pushy in order to make it happen, we've seen that.

We're someone strange, someone who is powerful enough to try, and willing enough to want to make friends:

- We would get offended that Nadia didn't tell us all this.
- We would tell Nadia immediately about this.

And perhaps the people who have witnessed Riona's crimes... wouldn't. That's all.

Is Sayaka a chair? How does that even work? Does she have the ability to pose as a chair at any given moment, using her non-existent Shaft bones to make the impossible shape?

We propably want to add a Sleep enchanment to our containment box too. If she can, hypothetically, operate as a disembodied soul gem, then she would have to be aware as a disembodied soul gem. 'I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream' scenarios are rarely conducive to sanity.
 
I'd like to protest the idea of keeping Rionna's soul gem in our storage space, by the way - the "storage" seems to be very directly tied to the soul of the magical girl using it in a way similar to how Barriers operate.

If she does manage to breach containment, I can think of few worse places for Rionna to be then inside our soul, to say nothing of the possible side effects of shoving someone else's soul gem there in the first place.

It's kind of hard to work around the possibility of Riona being in sensory deprivation, isn't it?

We should prioritize getting Riona to prison rather quickly, I guess.

Or maybe, the (apparent) fact that Homura's hammerspace seems to be time-stop based (and, well, use her time manipulation device), is a metaphor for the fact that Homura herself is stopped in time, un-aging, not growing, stuck on a loop, repeating the same month time and time again, without moving forward...

Maybe it's not the items put in her shield that are timestopped. Maybe it's her Soul that's stuck in an endless moment. :thonk:

Ah, this reminds me of Madoka Dating Simulator, and how their respective followers/cultist were basically the opposite of how Dokami and Homucifer are perceived.

Madokami's followers selfishly asked Madokami to take them to Madokahalla when they got tired of fighting, even though doing so hurt Madoka emotionally.

Homucifer's followers, meanwhile, are all about being sympathetic and wanting to help Homura. Selflessly.

Actually I have a better idea of how nobody knows what Rionna does. Simply, if Rionna is going somewhere to kill a grief controller, there aren't many if any witnesses left. For a grief controller to become dominant, there can't be tons of magical girls fighting them, trying their crap in Tokyo or even Sendai would get them massively dogpiled.

It'd have to be somewhere like Mitakihara, small magical girl population, isolationist territory holder. A hypothetical grief controller could kill Mami back when she was alone, kill Kyouko who's most likely to find out Mami died at all, then be killed by Rionna. And the new contracts made after the fact wouldn't know a thing about what happened to Mami by the time someone comes knocking.

This works because I assume that Rionna gets her information through magic (be it a shade or a hired magical girl) and only travels somewhere if she's sure the grief controller has beat or subordinated all the locals, because otherwise she'd make a lot of pointless trips.

Which, given we asked Sayaka to copy Riona, leaves Sayaka to get casually Witchbombed by power copying. Filraen's verison does acknowledge the problem, though.
