Ah, but consider this: as FPSSJ's, no normal Saiyan can beat them, regardless of skill, one-on-one, regardless of skill. So there are three very different scenario's they're expected to deal with:
1) Multiple weaker enemies, likely from a rebellion.
2) A rogue FPSSJ appears.
3) Powerful enemies invading the planet.

And three can be divided into two: dealing with the issue by themselves, or as part of a group.

Tien-style, being balanced, lacking in weaknesses and having techniques useful for all three scenario's, is thus a good choice, as there's no risk of being placed in a situation that the style is unsuited for. Piccolo-style would also likely be a good choice, but Tien-style's ability to increase power through sacrifice of life force, while being less reliant on battlefield control gives it the edge.
I think Piccolo vs Tien comes down to preferences; each seems to have stylistic differences and emphasis. *Shrugs*

It makes sense for the collective whole of the Royals to have different styles, though; it better prepares them for various disaster scenarios.

Alright, so we changed nothing about the underlying system and all of my previous statements on the topic still hold, but a lot of people brought this up at varying points, so before I just careen onwards with the quest: who wants another crack at avoiding combat with Yammar, starting with the moment you get your hands on Dandeer?

[ ] Not me.

EDIT: Ooh, wait, third option!

[ ] In order to trial the combat system, I want an interlude playing as Goku, during his showdown with Freeza.

Thank you, Discord!

I think the end of that combat was fine just the way it was.

I also really do not like retconning the story simply because things didn't go our way and finally I believe poptart did everything they could think of to get us out of there but found nothing.

I don't even know anymore. Out of curiosity, how effective does this/variations on this including the other SSJs look:
If we're still spitballing about the Yammar fight, I don't think it's fair to use knowledge gained since the fight, so we can't use the stuff about magic...

...If we were willing to go for an all-or-nothing Communications check, we could tell Yammar that both him and Dandeer have been sorcerously compromised, and that we'll willingly surrender if he'll swear an Oath to get his head checked out by experts before Dandeer wakes up. It would fit with why we're fighting them from his point of view, and doesn't cast Dandeer in a bad light. Specifically claiming that Dandeer got whammied harder due to her expertise and that him getting treated first is part of the Oath would probably work, if he agreed.
Or, in the likely event you already rolled it out, how close did we come to convincing Yammar?

[X] Not me.

Sure, last update didn't turn out the best for us, but this is a dice based quest and we had a run of bad luck and bad decisions. It hurt, but even before the discussion afterwards I was excited to see which direction we took it from here.

The moment you utter the words, "mind control," the spell wipes your words, Yammar suddenly thinks you've been having a staredown for the past several seconds, and he inmediately attacks.

Purely out of interest to see what ideas people come up with, and how they(presumably) fail.

And if we phrase it differently, or suggest without stating that it's something related to the Sight and/or the abilities Dazarel showed? Same result?

@PoptartProdigy
What are the relevant traits (broadly speaking) to an IT chase?
I would assume Ki sense and related traits would be the most relevant for the pursuer.

[X] Me!

Strategy is simple: Prelude round 2.
We IT out with Dandeer to the Senzu hall then random walk. Don't drop power. Yammar's options are to chase us or try to force our hand by threatening the people on the ground.
If he chases us, it gives a chance for people still in the hall to recover. If he takes hostages, that gives us a little time.

Senzu hall is a feint intended to make Yammar think he can pin us down, because going there would be a rookie mistake (IIRC, its wards can't hide a SS).

Another thought:

Oni's Rebellion proved to be the blow that would permanently shake the stability of the Exiles' society. From that day forward, the leaders of the Clans sat in silent, suspicious opposition to each other, always ready for one to reach for more power. Saiyan society reacted harshly against its human cousins, withdrawing further from Garenhuld's main society and thus exacerbating the cultural tensions between those who wished to remain hidden and those who wished to come free with who they were. House Peat, Oni's greatest supporters, began a history of rebellion and recidivism that remains to this day. The authority of the Lords of Goku has never recovered from Lady Vina's disastrous long regency, even as Clan Vegeta has centralized further and driven the Clans yet further apart. And most ruinously, the people of the Exile have ever since held one truth in their heads: that it doesn't take a living legend like Endivan to defeat a Super Saiyan. Enough saiyans, working together, can beat a Lord outright in open combat.

Send out a call for our people to help stop Dandeer's insurrection.

Is there really any point if there is no way to win? Still I will vote for this anyway. The power of hope compels you or something like that

Actually, it occurs that confirming or debunking theories would at this point possibly affect the vote, so I'll stop talking now. :p
Neat, so it also blocks out the concept of mind control? This thing is really well-designed.
As above.

I presume you mean skills? It would depend on how the pursuer tried to pursue. Ki sense would be part of it if the target managed to get off an IT even once, though.

Poptart already said we fail to IT away while Yammar's full attention is on us. He tried to roll for it.

@PoptartProdigy

IF we try again (and really, I'd prefer not to) would we be able to simply kill Dandeer, or would we hesitate?

she IS pretty fragile to us, we just need an unfocused one-handed blast. Or an eye beam. Or to just to smash her in the ground.
