I guess there's not much difference in the votes.

[X] The Phoenixian

I don't know who this 'Else' Maria is tho. :V

Expanded the vote a bit RE: Oriko's visions, to add the underlying reasoning. Shouldn't be a substantial difference to what was already changed, just clearer.

Also, since I was a bit too out of it to give a proper writup, an explanation for the points:

A lot of the grief seed science has been moved to after the conversations with the Kures, since I doubt we'll have that much time here and now. The bits that remain are basically, try to cleanse, feed Aurora magic and try her a bit of stimulus --- I think telling the bees is the appropriate idiom for that: she might not be physically capable of understanding, but we're trying to talk to her. --- And grease the squeaky wheel at the end. (Aurora complained, so she gets her stuff back, in the hopes that, on some level, she is capable of realizing we understand her grumbling, even if that level is merely operant conditioning.)

The enchanted item stuff, I think people will already be familiar with the reasoning for, but it's just to check whether this magic eating is specific to grief infused magic, or to all enchantments.

I think we should focus on one magic infused clearseed at a time. Just to optimize the use of our time. Infusing all three will take way too long.

My inner (well, is it inner if everyone else sees it too?) mad scientist says:

No Grief for Aurora during our trials. Not even enchanted. The result we just logged is too uncertain in a negative way.

We might try the "static contact with an enchanted item" test for better insight, or emotion / magic feeding as voted.

so,

I'll note that the point of research here is not to bring Hildegard and Elsa Maria to the same state as Aurora: It is to see what happens when a regular grief seed and an un-awakened clear seed are exposed to the same conditions, and see how they and Aurora have changed.

For instance, Will Hildegard and Elsa glom the enchanted grief around themselves, or will they just eat it? And will the three interact with enchantments at all, and will their reactions be any different from each other. Likewise, we pretty much know how Hildegard interacts with magic already, though it's always possible she changed in the intervening time, but that's not quite true of normal seeds like Elsa Maria.

I've edited that portion of the vote. Hopefully the intent should be clearer.

And yeah, If people insist then I'm willing to skip on attempting cleansing or flat grief for a while. I do want to do the extended-duration Enchanted Grief test, though. If for no other reason else, then at least because Aurora kinda complained when we stopped.

EDIT:

So I'm not altering the vote just yet, so here's a proposal, in light blue, and changes since posting, in orange:

[] Aurora:
-[] DON'T try to cleanse just yet. [PROPOSED CHANGE ONLY]
-[] Feed her normal magic, then feed her continuously. Make it a monolog with your current emotions: Try to channel the joy of flight.
-[] Let her have the enchanted grief back once you're busy.

[] The Kures:
-[] Discuss House Arrest.
--[] Per Vote in Abeyance.
-[] After the house arrest talk:
--[] Ask Oriko if she knows about the Shirome potentials.
--[] Ask Oriko if her visions have ever shown her using a skill she didn't already know, or her taking an action because she had changed as a person.
---[] You're curious if matters about who she is are a blind spot in her visions. Like how she couldn't see herself succeeding with her enchantments and had to practice.

[] Afterwards:
-[] See how Aurora interacts with normal enchanted items.
-[] Repeat the tests you ran on Aurora with Hildegard and Elsa Maria to compare and contrast how they interact.
-[] Use enchanted grief to try to make a device for analyzing and/or talking to grief seeds.

I feel like we've already had this conversation before?

I do not recall having it. We've talked about her visions having a subconscious focus, but while limitations to her visions have come up implicitly when we were practicing enchanting, I do not recall directly discussing the possibility that she simply could not see changes in her own nature.

This is similar to how Homura has come to develop such a strong bond with Sabrina. Having someone who fully understands and accepts her and what she's done--and praises her for it, no less--is not something she ever expected, to say the least. Also, she's probably gotten more hugs in the last few weeks than she's gotten in her entire life before then, combined. That leaves an impression.
Actually, I've seen claims that it causes distress to address people in manner they aren't expecting from others. As in, someone with a low self-image and expectations of being put down, will be discomforted if addressed in a respectful manner suddenly. It's unhealthy, but it's what it is.

In other words - you may expect Homura to keep feeling awkward in our presence.

Several friendlies on our end have confirmed. On the other hand, said friendlies are friendlies, and also confirm this doesn't actually preclude any of @SaltyWaffles' conclusion, only complicate every interaction ever; the acceptance, understanding, and validation, tend to sit in that awkward place where "this is good and comforting of my emotions, thank you, friend-person" and "but I'm actually awful why do you do this" coexist. So like. There's that I guess?

So, in honor of it apparently being 4 years of PMAS, and also because I made one for Subsumption, so why not here, let's me give this a try:

Sabrina Vee, the Witch Mage of Hope (?)
(Possible alternatives: Witch Heir Maid Mage of Heart, Sylph of Hope, Prince of Doom, Prince of Rage, ??? of ???)

"Those bound to the aspect of Hope are driven first and foremost by their convictions. They do right for right's sake, and are quick to come to the aid of anyone they deem to be experiencing injustice. (...) They put great value in the power of the imagination, the ability to dream up a better and more beautiful future. If anyone could dream a better world into existence, it would be one of the Hope-bound. They may sound like all sunshine and rainbows, but they aren't adverse to a little destruction, especially if they think they can replace it with something better and more just."
-The Extended Zodiac

"Hope seems to embody both its literal meaning and certain holy powers. (...) An alternative theory is that Hope is the power of belief. (...) Hope is all about believing in stuff and that if you believe in something hard enough it just may come true. (...) friendship is a HUGE key to being good at hope. Continuing this, Hope may mean believing in many possibilities. (...) It also represents positive emotions to contrast Rage's negative emotions, and it's worth noting that [a Hope player] was very focused on science, whereas the two Rage players we know of are strongly connected to religion. This makes sense, as science and religion are classically opposed concepts. "
- MSPA Wiki: Aspect

"The Mage class is most commonly thought to be the active (-) counterpart to Seer, someone that "benefits themselves with knowledge pertaining to [aspect]" and "guides by setting an example using knowledge pertaining to [aspect]," (...) Mages could also be speculated as "one who receives knowledge from [aspect]" (...) Another definition is that a Mage is "one who creates [aspect]" (...) Mage class could also be the passive (+) counterpart to the Witch class and can mean "one who manipulates with or through the use of [aspect]" or "one who is manipulated by [aspect]". (...)Alternately, a Mage could be "one who uses [aspect] to the benefit of others, but to the detriment of themselves"."
- MSPA Wiki: Class

Sabrina's powers focus on the manipulation of Grief, however it could be said that her greatest accomplishments come from how she leverages both this power, and the information she awoke with. She has managed to gain numerous allies, make many friends, and begin uniting several factions that ordinarily come to blows. In addition, her goals to Save All Meguca have indeed saved many lives; she is also in the process of bringing together several people to pursue the task of de-witching fallen magical girls. Her own research on the subject continues apace. Sabrina has many goals, among which is the ambitious task of dismantling, one could say breaking, the Incubators' entire magical girl system. Aided by her special insight, it is not unreasonable to say this goal is not outside her reach, and that of her friends. She believes wholeheartedly in a bright future where all her friends will survive the oncoming Walpurgisnacht, and be able to move forward into the creation of a better future for all megucakind. She refuses to believe in anything less.

Consorts (Familiars): (???)

Sabrina has demonstrated the ability to create and control various Grief avatars similar to Familiars, however she has not yet explored the possibility of granting these avatars autonomy because she's still not a Witch. Given the powers and behaviour that Sabrina has shown, these entities could be hypothesized to take the shape of Sabrina's friends, or perhaps her enemies, re-enacting both her impossible memories, her successes, and her failures. A caricature of Walpurgisnacht, the stage these familiars perform on might span the whole planet as they engage in a twisted attempt to fulfill their Witch's Sabrina's original goals- to break the system and stop despair and hug all meguca.

This is, of course, only conjecture. The true nature of Sabrina's Familiars Consorts remains yet unknown.

Denizen: Dedolere

Sabrina cannot remember either her name, or her life before waking up in an alleyway in Mitakihara. It is likely that she did not have one. However, she awoke with great knowledge about the world in which she found herself, particularly the specifics of the magical girl system in which she soon found herself inexorably entwined.

In the heart of her Soul Gem, the witch known to Sabrina as Dedolere sleeps away the years weeks, a potentiality that must never emerge into the light of day. The face of both Sabrina's mortality, and the mortality of this Quest her world.

While Dedolere's true powers, appearance, and behaviour remains a mystery, there are many speculations as to her origins and manifestation.

Examples:

Dedolere, the Witch of Grief. Her Nature is Certainty. She is the demiurge connecting divine and mortal, who hews and severs with as much abandon as she who used to knead and weave in her previous life. With the last puzzle falling into place, the doom of the world is inevitable. Indeed, in knowing the certainty of death for all things, one attains true liberation...

Dedolere, the black hole witch with a controlling nature. She who once tried to reach out to the world, now draws the unfortunate into her orbit instead. those who traverse her barrier may do so with ease so long as they move toward the center; however, the moment they turn back they will be confronted by the witch herself. Those wishing to not be consumed by the witch must only move closer to her, not away. However, those who actually touch the witch will never be able to escape her grasp. As such, this witch has a hatred for Zeno's Paradox.

Perhaps Dedolere is the embodiment of the remnants of the entity Sabrina might have been, before she awakened in this Mitakihara. Theories abound. But perhaps she is not. One way or another, however: The results of this Denizen awakening are unknown.

Land of Memories and Dreams (Barrier)

An endless void. The entrance, a shimmering slit in reality. The emptiness is filled at the hand of its Witch's Sabrina's willpower and Grief; runes sear through the void to create light, matter, order, in the shapes of things invented and things remembered.

The world outside is distant here; it can be felt, at least by Sabrina, but that world is so far away.

This land has been viewed only once; its form a rendition of Tomoe Mami's apartment, overlooking the landscape of Mitakihara City at sunset.
...

A young lady stands in an alleyway, coughing up blood. It just so happens that today is the day that she will become a magical girl. For reasons that are not readily apparent, she knows little to nothing about herself, and a great deal more about the world and people around her. In fact, although she recognizes both Kaname Madoka and Miki Sayaka, as well as the Incubator they are accompanied by, she can barely...

Can barely...

Why, in fact, it seems she cannot remember her own name!

...

A magical girl stands in an alleyway, having just made a contract. It just so happens that today may be the day that she has been given life! However, this does mean that at present, she doesn't have a name. She needs to introduce herself to these splendid people and less-splendid Incubator who've just stopped to help her!

What will the name of this young lady be?

Ah yes.

...

You are now Sabrina Vee, still not a Witch bringer of hugs, hope, and microwaved tea information from beyond the Fourth Wall.

What will you do?

> MECHA GURREN ZILLA LAGANN
> Shitpost
> Hug Mami
> Drop-kick Kyubey
> Witch out for superpowers

Random thought.

We need to help Kirika.

For all her inherent coolness... she doesn't have a very cool finisher attack. I don't know about Magireco, but in the mangas, the closest she has is her 'Vampire Fang' attack... which is just a super fast and strong normal attack.

I mean, she can destroy some powerful witches in one hit, but it's just so not cool.

If we tell Mami about this, I'm sure she will realize the gravity of the situation.
