"It's just not right, you know?" Kirika somehow managed while devouring her ice cream, cone and all. "You put your feelings on the line, which is scary!"
THUMP!
A few patrons glanced at the girls' table, but the black haired love obsessed berserker ignored them.
"You got such a great thing going, hmmm~" she hummed in delight as she finished her frozen treat, "and you're so careful to not push her too hard, and take your time, and- the point is," she waved her hand, as if this somehow enhanced her point, "a relationship is worthy of respect, not... not-!" her waving hand flit and curled into an angry claw.
"Easy," Sabrina's arm stretched across the table and caught her friend's hand, leading it back onto the tabletop.
Kirika frowned, looking down, gripping said piece of furniture by the edge with enough strength to make it creak.
Once more, the curious stares went ignored.
After a few seconds, Kirika sighed, her orange eyes meeting Sabrina's blue ones with a hint of bashfulness.
The white haired girl sat back and smiled as she ate her own ice cream cone, savoring it far longer than her friend, who idly tapped her fingers as she returned a small smile.
The parlor's chocolate cream was good. Sabrina made a mental note to bring Mami some time.
"I'm happy you think so high of me, Kirika," commented Sabrina. The black haired girl grinned, causing some of Sabrina's mind's subroutines to ponder about the little fang that poked between her lips. She blinked, dispelling such thoughts with practiced ease. "But I'd be happier if I didn't have to worry about your... violent tendencies," she looked at the other girl, who shuffled in her seat.
"Eh, it's not that bad..." she rolled her amber eyes. "Really!" she insisted at Sabrina's raised eyebrow. "It's not like I've actually hurt anyone for being mean, right? I can take care of myself," she affirmed, arms crossed.
"Yeah, well," Sabrina pointed her half finished cone at the offended Magical Girl, "jumping at a guy with a knife because she looked at Mami wrong -while I appreciate the sentiment- is not right-"
She snatched her arm back as Kirika's jaws chomped on thin air, barely saving her remaining ice cream from being wrongfully stolen.
"Oh, come on, I wasn't gonna cut him," Kirika kept gesturing as she rested her chin on one hand, this one resting on the tabletop in turn. "It's just... fun, you know?"
Both of Sabrina's eyebrows raised this time.
"Sure, that guy made me angry, and I'll point out he totally apologized thanks to my heroic actions-"
"After we pulled you off him."
"Details," Kirika magnanimously weathered Sabrina's snorting laugh, "but I knew you were there to hold me back, you know?" she stared with such intensity it made her friend stop mid bite.
Sabrina blinked.
"What are friend for, eh?" she asked softly.
"Right!" Kirika smiled and sat straight. "You don't have to worry, just because I may assault people with blades when you're there, doesn't mean I do it when I'm on my own."
Sabrina grimaced at her happiness-exuding friend, pointing at her with her almost-finished cone, though making sure to keep it close this time, as she wouldn't have cherished losing any fingers to an overextended bite attack.
Kirika's amber eyes locked onto the minute treat, tracking its subtle movements.
Sabrina flung the remains of the cone into her mouth, crunching it between her teeth and humming in pleasure partly at the flavour and partly at the berserker's pout.
"Anyway, I'm touched, even though there's something deeply wrong about that," Sabrina stood up as she talked, Kirika mirroring her movement. "But we've spent the past half hour talking about Mami and I'm getting this urge to-"
"Hugs?" Kirika asked wisely.
"Hugs," nodded the white haired girl. "Kirika? Just don't kill anyone, OK?"
"I know, Oriko's been saying the same thing lately," Kirika rolled her eyes, tapping Sabrina's shoulder as she walked past her, approaching the counter.
"... Lately?" drawled Sabrina.
Kirika didn't deign answer, busy rattling off a plethora of demands from a suddenly harried employee.
Sabrina sighed, choosing to ignore the implying implications for the time being. She spent the next couple of minutes chatting telepathically with Mami as she waited by the door.
"Hey, Brina?" said Grief controller looked up as Kirika walked past and out the parlor with a huge box full of frozen treats under her arm.
"Yeah?" Sabrina blinked, following after her friend.
Kirika turned to look at the taller girl, smiling.
"It was nice hanging out."
"Yeah," nodded Sabrina. After a moment in which she realized Kirika had nothing else to say, she added, "see you again, tomorrow?"
"Sure!" the black haired girl nodded, turned, and walked away, not looking back.
Sabrina watched as the cheerful Magical Girl walked away, dozens of frozen treats under arm, probably to share with her Ojou.
Approximately five seconds later, the Grief controller re-entered the ice cream parlor, only to exit a few minutes later with a similar box full of frozen goodies in hand.
She hoped it would all fit in the fridge, she thought as she took flight, taking the most direct pathway back home, and to Mami's arms.
If it didn't, though, Sabrina was sure it would keep in hammerspace.
