Clarifying that Clear Seeds are unconditional was an explicit part of the vote, and for good reason - we are going to great lengths to ensure we don't give out "serve me or die starving" ultimatums, because that's ludicrously immoral.

As for the monetary payment... Five thousand USD a month is nothing. To be clear: it's half of what we're paying Kyouko monthly, and Kyouko is putting in far less work for it than they will be guarding Airi - and Kyouko doesn't have to split it across a team!
I read it as the money being for the mutual defense pact, not guarding Airi.

"Damn," you say, snapping your fingers. "I thought of that, too, but I forgot to remind you. You'll have plenty of time for it, anyway, and hey. We're not gonna get into a big fight before Wednesday, anyway."

"Jinx," Sayaka says, lifting an arm to point at you.
I think it's to Sayaka's credit that she hasn't said she told us so yet.

Yuki: Claims building as a genius loci

Result of Spar: Glorious

A bit all over the place, messy, and maybe with more actions that can fit in one update, depending on Firn's muse's mood but hey, 150 words exactly, going by Xenforo. ;)

[X] Bargain.
-[X] Confirm.
--[X] Hint you could pay more, were you to work closer together.

[X] Call friends.
-[X] Ask to include O&K in the meeting with Yuki. SOCIAL reasons.
--[X] Don't push.
--[X] Update O&K if they agree.
-[X] Tell them about Yuki's Nydus Network.

[X] Before leaving:
-[X] Dump all but one Seed's worth of Grief on KB.

[X] Whenever appropriate:
-[X] Thank Rin. For today and for back then. Acknowledge her efforts to do the right thing.
-[X] Ask Yuki about other meguca groups. Volcano lair? Should we be concerned, beyond helping megucakind?
-[X] Offer to include the Sendai Group in the pact, or to make a separate one with us.

[X] Yuki.
-[X] Back to Mitakihara.

What's that last sentence asking about? If we're clarifying about whether volcano lair group specifically, probably say "Ask Yuki about other meguca groups. Volcano lair? Should we be concerned there, beyond helping megucakind?" (same wordcount) If we're asking about groups in general, and maybe heading toward questions about Iowa, would "Ask Yuki: Other meguca groups? Volcano lair, Iowa? Others to concern ourselves with, beyond helping megucakind?" work? (same wordcount)

Otherwise, seems good.

Edit:

[x] Onmur

Although I do want to ask about Iowa at some point; it seems like they'll probably turn up to be a problem.

I was somewhat startled while reading by Moe's... rather chill demeanor.

I mean, she was reasonable back then, all in all, she is a merc and as Yuki said, has had worse, but would you connect this:

"Wouldn't say she's ordinary," Moe says as she approaches. She doesn't look that different from the last time you'd seen her, albeit dressed in a simple blouse and jeans this time rather than her magical girl costume. Curly black hair held up with an elaborate hairclip casacades down one shoulder, a contrast to crimson eyes giving you a cautious once over. "But Shinobu's certainly not the spirit of a mountain, no."
"I'm clean, thank you," Moe says, shaking her head.

With this?:
You take a deep breath, holding her Gem up for everyone to see, and then press it into her hand.

A breathless moment passes before Moe inhales sharply and her eyelids flick open, to reveal crimson eyes, wide and vacant in confusion. And then she screams.

It's a good scream, one delivered right from her diaphragm to bounce and echo off the buildings.

Moe bolts upright, before jerking up short against the ribbons. You can see her muscles flex under her skin, especially her formerly severed arm, before rational thought seems to slowly seep back into her mind as she glances around, her eyes flickering around.

Moe might not be moe but she seems like she can handle some shit.

The first one wasn't even Brinapilot though. It was in the vote.

And I dispute the "to her detriment" thing. Funds are pretty easy to get. We're not exactly on a tight budget here.
"Funds are easy to get"? Seriously?

What are we going to do, rob the local Yakuza again? How sustainable do you think that is? Maybe they restocked their cash after the first robbery, but I kinda doubt it (given that they had absolutely no clue who stole it the first time, or how). But after it happens a second time a couple of weeks later? Yeah, no, they're not gonna keep anything but bare essentials there.

Robbing ATMs? That's not something we can abuse--if we do it too much/often, it'll cause problems even with the masquerade in place.

Robbing banks? Banks don't carry that much money, specifically to avoid losing lots of money to a bank robbery.

Stealing money electronically from big corporations is much more feasible, so long as we don't steal too much at a time or too much from the same corporations. Of course, we'd need super hacking powers for that, and the only one we know of with such powers is very mercenary. We could do a teleportation service, but that would require Sakura, and she fucking hates us for some unknown reason. Healing services are probably the best substitute we can get in the short term, except that we don't have any healers on our team (the closest we've got is Yuma).

In this update, Sabrina specifically noted that she was starting to run low on cash.

Just turn random garbage into gold by rearranging protons. Or go grab some gold out of Earth's mantle. Or go asteroid mining. This isn't a major concern.

If we need more yen than we can get by fencing gold on the street - which I suspect is unlikely - then the Shizukis would probably be more than pleased to be faced with the problem of profiting off of a metric ton of gold that we've manufactured literally out of thin air.

Let's make sure we could actually do that safely before we think money is a non-issue. Especially with asteroid mining--so far, we haven't even confirmed if we've broken the sound barrier yet. In order to make asteroid mining even remotely practical, we'd need to make sure we can create detailed flight instruments and navigation systems, plus a FAR greater top speed. And then there's the trouble of identifying whatever minerals/elements we're mining while we're doing it.

As for the former method--again, let's be careful with that. Just...you know, make sure we're not splitting any atoms and creating a big boom while we're at it.

We'd need to set up a steady, consistent way to exchange gold for cash, too.

NYDUS

Also I told you guys about monomolecular razor clouds. :V
'... So fighting the Fukushima on their ground is basically a nightmare.'

'But you won.'

'Yeah, Grief is overpowered like that...'

'It's still your victory, Sabrina!'

'Yeah!'

'Indeed.'

'Well, thanks! Also, Yuki's got some sort of Nidus Network going on, and-'

'Nydus.'

'What?'

'What?'

'... Did you-?'

'The Fukushima are trustworhy as long as you pay. You should allow them to claim territoty on Mitakihara for ease of transport, it will be very useful come Walpurgisnacht.'

'... What?'

'Don't leave the mercenaries waiting, Sabrina.'

'Right. See you all later.'

'Bye.'

'See you later, Sabrina.'

'Right, later.'

...

'Mami?'

'Yes?'

'Homura was totally covering for Sayaka there, wasn't she?'

'Totally. Do I want to know?'

'... I'll talk with Sayaka first.'

detailed flight instruments and navigation systems,
Nanomechanical lever arrays. A grief-telescope 100m in diameter, sensitive to 8pm photons (right on the border between gamma and x-rays) and pointed at the asteroid belt from Earth, would be diffraction-limited to an image resolution of about a centimeter. Forget seeing our target asteroid, we could pick out a nice spot to sit down on it for lunch.

Grief. Count the protons in the nucleus. Done. When Sabrina first set up her utility fog she spent a few minutes chasing around individual electrons and only couldn't capture them because she wasn't thinking in terms of probability clouds.

Griefhax is magic. Just need to specify our problem right.

1) Re: Speed
I'm pretty sure top speed really isn't a concern. I think the only reason we don't regularly break Mach is courtesy reasons. We can easily accelerate at (g) for as long as we want, from what we've seen. Faster if we don't need to worry about our fleshy body exploding. Though going to the asteroid belt is gonna be a bit of a side quest. Also, from what more scientifically minded have told me, the emissions Earth releases should be enough for a grief based sensor to detect and guide us back. Don't know if we can move grief accurately enough to aim for asteroids, so I'll leave that to others.

2) Re: atom splitting
Yes, Fission releases a lot of energy, but its only really dangerous if in a chain reaction. IIRC, Grief can basically ignore physics, so we can contain the boom by covering it in grief, while we rearrange proton and neutrons around. Do it in a bunch of separate cells if need be.

So who wants to pull the same "Is it okay if the gold is in the form of simple unmarked jewelry?" trick on Yuki that we did on Kyouko? :V

I'll point out that by striving for efficiency, creativity, and laziness rather than raw power, superior answers may be produced. For instance, turning pencils and batteries into diamonds to extend the value of gold and ease the sale of diamonds.

Limits are the origin of creativity after all.

Writing it up right now.

... as I have been for the past few hours. (dammit annoyingly slow brain. :/)

The difficulties of getting around the enormous amount of red tape required to legally sell diamonds would remain no matter what the source of carbon for said diamonds was.

My point isn't about the source of diamonds, but the form. The question is whether that red tape still present if the diamond is already cut and incorporated into jewelry. Graphite was chosen as a source because it's a pure form of carbon that doesn't require us faffing about to collect from the atmosphere or anything like that, just to refine. Which can probably be done with luce prima + mechanical compacting.
