We don'T talk about that.Doesn't Age of Sigmar break it out into 4 groups? Order, Chaos, Death, and Destruction?
I'd argue that - just like skaven - CD fall neatly into the 'capitalism is destructive guys' theme. Even more neatly than the Skaven because their god is dedicated to acquiring wealth for its own sake. As for destroy the world theme, the putrid river of instant cancer is kind of a hint that they fall heavily into the theme 'ecology collapse can destroy the world just as surely as active chaos mutations'. But that's my personal opinion here, Skaven warpstone/dhar pollution is no joke in-setting either but the CD status is kind of neat in that it apparently requires no 'magic pollution' to make the point. Sort of.While it is true that trying to find good in beastmen is as pointless as trying to find a diamond in a manure heap it is worth noting that there are plenty of factions that don't fit the Order/Chaos divide and not just because they are a random sort of neutral. For instance:
Vampires: Yes they are predatory monsters who seek to create a caste system based on drinking he literal blood of their subjects, but they are also creatures of the world who would do rather poorly if it were eaten by Chaos. While that it is true that they are and existential threat under Nagash that says more of the great necromancer than them.
So here we are an evil 'Order' faction using evil magic, but wait it gets worse:
Chaos Dwarfs: They have Chaos in the name they sell to invading hordes, that surely means they are in on the end of the world party right? Well judging by their themes I would argue not really. Greed requires that you keep all your stuff. All the world collapsing into the Aethyr where your gold could spontaneously turn to corn flakes because Khone was feeling like making a pun is not good for you, so what are we looking at here? A Chaos faction that does not want to end the world and is just profiting from the conflict?
There are certainly people in WHF to which you can point and say 'those are the bad guys' but it's not a easy as Destruction bad, order Good
60/turn from Belegar, not 75, but yeah.175 gold/turn from the EIC, 75 gold/turn from our paycheck from Belegar.
Basically, this expenditure would wipe out most of our capital on hand, but our income recently went up significantly (when we finished paying off the EIC loan and started getting the dividends ourself), so it's not bad. We're still accumulating more money every year than many people see in their lives.Mathilde is paid 120 gold coins per year as Loremaster, and you may want to also factor in the income from her fief.
IntroducingReclaiming Ranald the Ranger, official Ancestor God of Clan Shadowbeard of Karak Eight Peaks.
The very respectable, upstanding, proper authority-figure Ancestor-God of Rangers Ranald.
Last we knew, 50 crowns/turn, though that might have increased if any other improvements have gone on.
You thank the headsman for his time and spend a while just looking out over the rolling hills of your fief. It was never going to be rich, but it seems your investment had led it to be slightly further from poor, and you're quite pleased by that.
[ ] FIEF: Take the unspent money from the coffers (196 crowns)
[ ] FIEF: Have the Steward forward taxes to you via the EIC (50 crowns/turn)
[ ] FIEF: Take the money and have future taxes forwarded on.
[ ] FIEF: Leave the current and future money be.
Last time we were there, it generated 50gc/turn:
But we don't actually collect the money. We voted to let it continue accumulating, so the community would have money to invest in construction and to cover emergencies. We could probably change that if we visited again.[ ] FIEF: Take the unspent money from the coffers (196 crowns)
[ ] FIEF: Have the Steward forward taxes to you via the EIC (50 crowns/turn)
[ ] FIEF: Take the money and have future taxes forwarded on.

Granted, it could use a support fleet. And beats me what the hell we would have to do for Asur to give us permission to own it, Nagarythe has a claim to them.
Technically correct (the best kind) but also fundamentally wrong.
Citation:
The terms 'order' and 'destruction' work as descriptions, not labels.
Order factions: Those actually capable of long term peace and reliable diplomacy.
Destruction factions: Those that actively and inherently seek the destruction of everyone else and usually themselves.
Note that neither of these are 'a faction' in the sense of being on the same side. They just a broad category that a number of different factions fit into.
"A Greenskin tribe is a faction with destruction characteristics. Not a member of the destruction faction."
Didn't we got a raise when we became Lord Magister?175 gold/turn from the EIC,7560 gold/turn from our paycheck from Belegar.
Unless you want to scam Mathilde is literally a demi-god - or at least at the end of long line that ends on the mythical Ranald - with proof - this doesn't work.Yes
I've found the solution to our Boon issues guys, it's right here.
AoS isn't the worst thing, but I'm told it took a while to get there and it still lacks a fraction of the depth of WHF.
We stopped getting tithed at all, though Mathilde's first instinct to particularly large windfalls will probably still be "should I send this to the Bursar".
And we can easily take actions to increase the revenue that we get from the EIC, like the gunpowder factory.Basically, this expenditure would wipe out most of our capital on hand, but our income recently went up significantly (when we finished paying off the EIC loan and started getting the dividends ourself), so it's not bad. We're still accumulating more money every year than many people see in their lives.
The funniest thing with Age Of Sigmar is that Warhammer Total War, has increased significantly the number of players interested on something that GW has discontinued.AoS isn't the worst thing, but I'm told it took a while to get there and it still lacks a fraction of the depth of WHF.
I think the best way is to kill Malekith. The most realistic way is to become a Shadow Warrior, like in my negaverse omake, that way Nagarythe can say it's still theirs despite it being in Mathilde's hands.I would take it as a consolation prize. But I would prefer to pry our very own grey ark from the cold dead fingers of some Druchii. Granted, it could use a support fleet. And beats me what the hell we would have to do for Asur to give us permission to own it, Nagarythe has a claim to them.
On the one hand it will be far from the Empire and require quite a drive on various river boats while paying Dwarven tariffs in Zhufbar and such.If you want to preserve knowledge for the empire explicitly then putting a library in Karak 8 peaks that basically no one in the empire will ever be able to use seems like a pretty terrible idea?
A library is after all only of use if people can actually use the thing.
That's a Grudging.
If humanity ever ends up living in a post-apocalyptic wasteland on Mallus or even goes completely extinct, I'm 99,9% sure it won't be due to global warming or a mundane lack of species diversity or whatever. Every flattened forest is less space for the hordes of Disorder to spread and fester. And if CO2 does somehow start becoming an actual problem then it's something a few Ghyran megaprojects should be able to solve. Also from my personal enviromentalist perspective I'm very not in favour of clearing a large portion of natural forest to turn into the early modern equivilent of monocrop megafarms for our own enrichment. But that is a seperate issue.
Because Orc Waaaghs are a sentient natural disaster, Malekith is an immortal asshole with an iron grip, Necromancy inherently causes mental diseases that make people into dangers to others on a large scale, and all the other destruction forces are subjugated or beguiled by evil gods of evil evilness because we are still playing Warhammer Fantasy and whatever redeeming features the six Chaos Gods might be supposed to have are a springling of confetti on a large pile of horrorpocalypse. Also, can I please rant publically about how much I hate this concept of "order factions", "destro factions" or whatever. Where people get this black-and-white mentality? Why people assign some factions as "good" and some as "evil" (and how much I hate this tolkienesque application of this concepts too...)? Why people think that "order" factions are somehow obligated to be Friends and do magic of love and friendship with each other and it is somehow better for everyone?
We only used the second overwork slot so it will only be one turn at -10, the third one inflicts two turns of -20.To move Thread Madness in a slightly more productive direction, for the next 2 turns Mathilde will be working under a -10 Overwork Malus. What are some good actions she can take, where failure isn't especially risky?
I'm thinking "learn to swim" - assuming we have someone there to teach her that is, learning on her own would be pretty risky. But it's an important life skill!
