@BoneyM, while rereading, this bit made me curious, because, well, Snorri definitely is part of a recognized Karaz Ankor clan.

Did this represent a misconception on Mathilde's part, or does it mean something else?
 
I hate to rain on the parade, but keep in mind that Apocrypha would count as "a proper threadmark". I can't imagine what would provoke tomfoolery like this in canon.

I read that as Thorgrim thinking that hearing the endless low energy warning klaxon for most of his life sapped the last High King of the will to endure his wounds. And that the warning klaxon had been going before Karak Vlag and Karaz Dum were lost.
 
Random thought, but if Mathilde ends up adopted by Clan Angrund, would that make her a Princess? Or even put her in the line of succession for Eight Peaks?

We sailed past that a while ago, so if that was ever given as a number Boney probably decided that it wasn't actually high enough to qualify.

Also, as of commencing this expedition Favour/Reputation gains for both Rakilid Un Thaggorhun and saving the Okral, including the Metalworkers Guildmaster, had yet to be processed by both the Dwarves and Boney. So we're at this:

Plus those two, plus Vlag. It's entirely possible that we've sailed past 200 at this point.

Personally I don't see anyone talking about being a (reincarnated) Living Ancestor until at least 500, and Ancestor God isn't even on the table, but I'll not be a killjoy.

Honestly, I am partial to "Dwarf reputation: yes"

Unless we want to uplift the empire or make Dawi violate religious oaths, the number will probably be so high it may as well be arbitrary.

The final battle of K8Ps got us something like 40, but there were some prior that were at least another 20 or so (not counting the transcendatal Belegar Boon). So something like 60 is a lower floor.

But Mathilde was more central to the retaking of Vlag. Without her, it just flat out would not have happened, so it could easily be more. Even if we 'only' double it, that would put us at 100, and that's a pretty conservative guess. For one, none of the above where with the Protector.

Something on the scale of 200-300 isn't all that out there. Depending on how you count things, it could be 500+.

But I think we've already seen the answer: None. We get a new kind of currency. Dwarf Rep is what non-dwarfs get, but we are no longer a non-dwarf.

Do not forget to add the Okral and a multiplier for the Protector
 
After certain point, reputation is hard to put numeric values on reputation. Person becomes known and important enough to be put in their own unique category.

Which is what is happening there.

Reducing it to points just cheapen it.

We also didn't save any extra dwarves with Eight Peaks, whereas Vlag we got it back with at least some population intact. That's probably worth something as well. Also the Okral thing happened as well.

The question was about the rep for Vlag, not her rep in general. And I did say the K8P numbers are underestimating things, because they don't account for the Protector. Point on saving dwarfs, though I think that's balanced by K8Ps helping Azul, and just being a more important/symbolic hold.
