I would like to point out that a Warboss was cowering from us until he had no choice but to engage.

And then we showed why he should cower. It just was not a good day for Warbosses.

[X] Seek and slay bosses and other important targets among the fleeing greenskins

Excellent start to the campaign, especially since it involved routing and crushing the Black ork contingent.

Elite formations are just about the only thing our enemies here will not have in sickening abundance. So the faster we can cripple force like that, the better.

That was a Big 'Un not a Warboss. Warbosses are like the dude Belegar dunked. A whole different tier of baddie.

Wasn't a warboss, just a big 'un.

Still impressive, but not that incredible. Bel took the crown by dunking on the actual Black Orc Warboss in a single round.

How many points do you guys figure it was worth?

Yeah our army isnt good against routed enemy. Cant run fast enough and only the rangers or artillery have a chance to do damage so boss slaying has more uses short and long term.

Hopeful that the orcs will have a mini civil war to produce more bosses so we have longer to fortify and call in air support.

Why does everyone keep forgetting that we have 250 DemiGryph Knights?

The Murder Kitties excel at mulching massive numbers of fleeing troops. And non-fleeing troops. And monsters.....and yeah.

Yeah though, that went pretty well. Mathilde did plenty of damage in the melee too. A good Hero Unit is never a bad thing!

The Murder Doggos are also mounted units, for what that's worth.

The only thing we are ever going to do with that book, is keep it secret and safe from all the crazies that would love to get their hands on it. Actually reading it ourselves?! I shouldn't need to have to explain to you why that's a very very stupid idea.

Please explain why reading it is a bad idea, then.

It's not reading the Liber Mortis that's bad, it's using Dhar. Even the Priests of Sigmar condone the former, in sufficiently controlled conditions.

Not even a read through to see any weaknesses to exploit?

Do it for the Greater Good man!

Also as a redundancy so Mathilde is nigh unkillable but whatever.

[X] Take the opportunity to strike down fleeing trolls and giants

Because the opportunity to take out monster units without them fighting back is rare, and Mathilde doesn't even need to kill them herself so much as slow them down, or her them in the direction of the murder kittens.
Hmmm... there's an idea.

I wonder how the Dawi would take it if we become the next Nagash while staying in a Dwarf Hold, and proceed to use the newfound power to help them fight the Greenskins and Skaven.
Why would Mathilde want to ruin the careers of her journeymanlings by association? Furthermore being in a Dwarf hold won't stop the Grey College from sending a kill team, and the Imperial College as a whole in the event that her own order fails, because the appearance of them being unable to police their members is an existential threat to the Imperial Colleges, which is especially true for a high profile member like Mathilde.

No plan survives contact with the enemy.
Fortunately we didn't tell anyone the plan so everyone will think we intended to be slugging it out in the centre.

Even more fortunately our Mastered Dread Aspect is only pretending that it isn't Battle Magic. Thus we absolutely slaughtered everything that came near us.
It's also persistent Pseudo-Battle-Magic on autopilot that doesn't take up our concentration leaving us free to sever any Orcy heads our Shadow doesn't.

Edit- I count it doing eight wounds to the seven our sword did.

There's 500 in total actually, the Knights of Taal's Fury, and the Knights of the Vengeful Sun. Also uh, 250 stuff-of-nightmares murderous pack animals whose entire instinct is chasing down fleeing creatures. A fleeing enemy is literally what triggers a wolf's attacking instinct.

Why, maybe you should elucidate us mere mortals as to how exactly we are in the wrong?

As the damn Grand Theogonist has already read from it, and we got a rune from Kragg the Grimm that explicitly makes us immune to metaphysical corruption.

In fact, studying the enemies' magic is one of the prerogatives of the Magisters.

So, why should we not read one of the greatest masterpieces on magic in the entire world?

Because the vast majority of the thread seems pretty damn keen on reading it.

[X] Pursue standard carriers and seize greenskin banners

Leaders and VIP would be better, but I'm looking to make up for it with quantity.

[X] Strike at any of the enemy that look like they might be rallying
[X] Seek and slay bosses and other important targets among the fleeing greenskins
[X] Pursue standard carriers and seize greenskin banners
Three approaches to the same goal: keep them from rallying.

An opportunity to whittle down the Heavies? Yes please.
We really aren't equipped for it. Leave the hard targets to the artillery.

[X] Pursue standard carriers and seize greenskin banners

Choosing this because I'm hoping Matilda can pull some false flag operations against the skaven and other greenskins later using these banners.
