See, before she moved to the Karak-8-Peaks, Mathilde lived in a subterranean palace...
This theory casts the early vote where "build a tower" and "build an underground lair" were stuck in limbo and Boney had to flip a coin into new relief...
For the past few months, your spare moments have been spent thinking about finally moving out of the terrible guest room and into your very own home. But you were thoroughly torn on what form that home would take. One half of you wanted to claim a tower along the walls of Wurtbad. You are a wizard, after all, and a wizard wears a tower like a crab wears a shell. But on the other hand, you weren't just any wizard - you were a Grey Wizard, masters of shadow and secrets, so the other half of you wanted a secret lair, secreted somewhere in Wurtbad's slums or catacombs. You went back and forth, making up and then changing your mind, until finally you decide to do the only sensible thing: you take a coin you had embezzled from your operational funds, cross your fingers, and flip it into the air.

[HEADS, A TOWER. TAILS, A DUNGEON. Result: Tails.]
[DOES THIS PLEASE RANALD?: Roll, 98. Ranald is amused.]

"It is a portion of the Aethyr that has been cut off from the rest, which happens more often than you might think," says Lady Magister Grey.

"It is a metaphor, fed by Ulgu until it grew fat enough to visit," says Bursar Wilhelmina von Bucht.

"It is part of the Grey Vaults, the threshold of Morr's Realm," says Porter Reiner Starke.
A realm separated from the Aethyr, drawn upon by those lucky enough to have an affinity for it, protected by an order symbolized by a greatsword, and acting as the threshold for the afterlife protecting the souls of the dead?

I'm surprised how similar this is to the Glittering Realm, and definitely want to learn more secrets of Gazul from Gunnars now. Hell, I'd be interested in bringing Kragg into the conversation, for his unique perspective of the Glittering Realm as the oldest Runelord alive.

It might go against our instincts to share such deep secrets with another, but there is no doubt in my mind that Kragg and Gunnars can be trusted with this. If we are planning on inspecting and potentially altering the runestone network in the Karaz Ankor, the network powering the Masterwork Runes of Valaya in each hold, the Runes protecting Dwarven souls in both Life and Death, and thus deeply entwined with the Glittering Realm, we need all the potential expertise we can get. Failure cannot be an option when we finally decide to act.

You read the same update we did. I wouldn't have thought that making gunpowder could be a Guild secret either, but apparently the specific techniques they use are.
I did, but I couldn't make out what was meant by "on the hook", which is why I asked BoneyM. For all I know it's possible (but unlikely) that this is just how "costs Dwarf Favor" gets phrased IC.

Oh boy Karag Dum here we come!
We are already his godmother. He was born steaped in our magic and has carried our enchantments since he was two.
While yes I want us to go for the highest position possible for us! Nothing wrong with having some ambition! That and I want us to be able to help steer the Empire to a better future by being one of the major mover's and shakers in the empire.

I find this statement confusing why do you think Panoramia complements our stealth approach? I've not seen anything from her to indicate that.
Panornamia is not suitable for a fight.

Her skill and knowledge however enables those who are proficient in stealth and a fight (us) to do much damage simply with the potions and poison she can make.

In short, she can provide poison and Mathilda makes sure those poisons make the most amount of damage to enemy camp or enemy champion.

Shes basically the Q to our Jane Bond

The now most important thing to do is to bring back something special for Pan from Karag Dum.
The corpses of our enemies to use as new fertiliser. Now, I know what you're thinking: "But how can we carry them all the way back when our wagons are filled with literal treasure?" Well, it turns out there's this nice and easy trick to transporting dead bodies long distances that was developed in ancient Sylvania...

A living Mathilde?

Seriously I don't think Pan is the sort to ask for souvenirs from the Chaos Wastes (or a dwarf Karak) being that she is sane.
Panoramia might not be the type to ask for souvenirs, but Mathilde is absolutely the type who would give them.

You can give a gift because you want to give one, not just because the recipient wants one.

I wonder if we can make multiple portal to our new realm. Like we can have multiple safe dungeons and towers across the world and travel to and fro where we want. Maybe even be a advisor to multiple kingdoms or karaks.

For those who want the Greenhouse tower, I see no reason not to use a gallon of Vitae for it the Dwarf Favor part of it.

I do. That's incredibly wasteful. We're flush with normal dwarven favour and vitae is a limited supply. We're also likely to generate a turn of dwarven favour on the expedition if we use the coin on protector and we should do that due to all the Karak Dum issues.

One gallon of it will be back by next turn...moreover, they're putting it to more use than we are.

why not potentially every reason, given that we still don't know what the opportunity cost of AV when not using it to save dwarf favour?

We could very easily very seriously regret frittering it away on literal trivialities like the Greenhouse that will almost certainly never have any practical value.

You're assuming there will never be anything that we want that will cost large volumes of AV on a deadline. We never get any AV we spend back. Once expended, it will never be available to spend on something we actually need.

I too see no reason to spend AV when regular favor expenditure will do, even if all it can do is give us special runesmith favor (which it is not) we should spare it for expenses that require such favor.
