Two things: Armor interferes with spellcasting unless it's made from Elf Bullshit, and incorporating Mastery into our robes in an always-on way would make us immune to physical exhaustion, which would be very useful for some sort of dangerous adventure we plan to go on in the near future.
Ah, I realized some mechanics were borrowed from WHRP but It seemed less exact and more as just a reference foundation. TBH the whole 'can't cast in armor' trope is absolute nonsense. From an RPG perspective it makes sense (balancing classes) but from a narrative I don't get it.

That being said, I'm all for doubling down on our Enchanting talent. I've been excited to see where that could lead for literally 30 turns and we've not done anything with it.

Edit: except that badass staff. So I take that previous statement back.

Reasoning here.

[X] [DWARF] No purchase.

I actively oppose runing anything or buying a gyrocopter right now.

[X] [COLLEGE] No purchase.

Might change this if people come up with a good "fuck you in particular" item to bring on the Expedition. I actively oppose the pegasus.

[X] [PURCHASE] No purchase.

No need for anything mundane.

[X] [ROOM] Training Hall

Narrative benefits if we ever develop the Branulhune style -- a private place to practice, instead of a public K8P facility, seems correct.

[X] [ROOM] Workshop

Because staff turning was fun.

[X] [ROOM] Keg Cellar

We are a dwarf wizard and I intend to lean into that.

[X] [ROOM] Trophy Room

Necessary.

[X] [ROOM] Dragon Room

Double necessary.

Can't cast spells if you're too insulated from the Winds to absorb them.

Not in favour of 30DF on secondary weapons, ones which could be superceded by Experimental Guns soon, for the simple cost of gold.

I don´t really see the point of getting a Gyrocarriage, it would take AP to learn how to use and K8P basically let us use their Gyrocarriages for free...
I mean, experimenting as we enchant it seems interesting, but not enough for me.

And about the Pegasus, I can see the utility of getting a flying mount that we can train to follow us from a distance and that can actually come to our rescue if we need an emergency extraction, but Go Big Or Go Home, we can also do that with a griffon, and the fuckers can survive artillery fire and kill anything short of a Demon Prince...

You generally can't cast properly while wearing armor. The exceptions are pretty rare and restricted to elfs, Golds, or serious artifacts.
We could probably make it work if we made it out of something nonmetallic and magically conductive, like dragonbone. The problem then of course becomes getting enough money to pay for the armor's weight in dragonbone. Probably cheaper to just buy a few dozen seeds of regrowth scattered throughout our body like weird plant-based lymph nodes.

I would be pro griffin if It was one we found and raised.

But the one we get for a great deed has a one In three chance of nomming on us instead of the enamies...

Not interested in Runic Pistols. Is it possible to get a Ring or Braclet runed to give Mathilde dwarven earth sense? We scout Underground a lot and we're about to go on a dwarf expedition soo...

Also first vote ever on any quest, including this quest! Nice to be a part of this amazing narrative, though this is a very low key vote lol.

The Purple Sun of Xereus (15 favors): You summon a vortex of Shyish that slays everyone in its path who isn't fast enough to avoid it. No method of protection works against this spell

A Wand of Fuck You for our 3rd Activatable, what's not to like? A nuke is one of the few things we lack, and it's bound to come up in handy on the expedition. Of course, if anyone knows a better spell, I'm all ears...

A Lore of Fire nuke would be better. It can hurt living creatures too, but it's also a lot better at sabotage and we are immune to fire, so we can be more free and versatile in its use. I recommend voting for my college vote.

Can't cast spells if you're too insulated from the Winds to absorb them.
How does leather block the winds? That's literally just tougher skin. I could definetly get some metals grounding magic and causing problems though.

Our enchanted robes will be better than leather armor though most likely so I'm definitely not trying to start an argument. I'm pretty used to Robed-Only Wizards.

Another excellent chapter. It was a bit like coming home over christmas with the family. He makes an excellent big brother, but not really someone I think Mathilde would be happy with at length.

The heavier armour is, the more real it is, and reality rejects the winds. This is the fluff explanation in the tabletop game at least.

[X] [DWARF] Have a Grandmaster Dwarf Engineer repair and reverse-engineer the Empire's Steam Tanks (10 Dwarf Favor)
I'm 100% against using 30 favor on our pistols and it's probably a good idea to do this one as early as possible.

but from a narrative I don't get it.
It's all full of metal magic, not the magic of sneakiness and things-that-aren't-armor.

Think trying to breathe with a plunger on your face.

It's full of animal magic, from the animal. Great for animal wizards, but not us.
