I kind of think that Fredmann is right we have so many projects to do that we can't really do all our skaven stuff right away. While giving the stuff up will allow it to be put to good use all the quicker for the better of the empire and her allies. Only thing I'm wondering now is what do we ask from him? Perhaps his support when we make a bid for Lord Magister? Forbidden tombs we can't get a hold of, so many options really for us to choose from.

We should definitely offload them. With Queekish being published I suspect the empire will need every edge it can get in the coming years, and boy do we have a lot of edges.
@BoneyM Does this include the treasure trove of Skaven engineering books we have?
 
Weren't some people curious about how the Gold Order did their... some kind of special magic item crafting thing?

Well, here's your opportunity to ask for them to share their secrets of Enchantment with Mathilde.

Maybe having Mathilde promise not to share those secrets further, maybe not, I dunno. But hey, here's your opening guys.

The only question is... Is that asking for too much? Is too high a price? Or not too high a price at all? Or what?

Makes sense. I was mostly just wondering if it'd be possible to hold onto one or two items for our study, while handing the vast majority over.

Would we be negotiating on their behalf, or could we just tell him that we'd planned to work on some things with some of the other wizards at K8P and we'll let them name their own prices in addition to our own? Or would he just assume the latter?

Preserved bodies of the Rat Mothers of Clan Mors.

Eshin:
Throwing star, still dripping venom.
Eshin Sorcerer crystal sword.
Eshin Sorcerer amulet, shattered.

Moulder:
Electric whip, stolen from Clan Moulder.
Vials, stolen from Clan Moulder.

Skryre:
Firearms; jezzails, pistols, bullets, gunpowder.
Warp Lightning Cannon (misfired, possibly broken)
Lighting mechanism, stolen from Clan Skryre. (shared project with Adela)
Breathing apparatus, stolen from Clan Skryre. (shared project with Johann)
Brass orb, stolen from Clan Skryre.

Gold Magister or Battle Wizard assistance for specific projects
Outfitting of an entire College-scale library
Complete Gold Order cooperation for the Waystone investigations

Yes, but they'd provide copies of everything for Mathilde's library.

He'd take care of the Golds, and Adela's claim is extremely easy for Mathilde to make up for.

Well, that would explain why we weren't allowed to just offload the Skaven tech library to Algard. Honestly, I'm thinking books for books. Like, all the books.
 
I think we should ask for something for K8P or the Dum expedition. One of the reasons we got access to so many of these items is due to our position of loremaster so I feel any price we ask needs to give something back to the Dawi.
 
@BoneyM does he know about the Waystones and the Eonir? Cause I want to suggest:

[] Use a Great Deed to get permission for a branch college dedicated to exotic/foreign research, and ask the gold college to outfit it. The Golds would of course be invited to partner in such research.

@BoneyM Does he want the Rat Mother bodies, or just the stuff listed under the three clan names? Unclear whether those are skaven "artifacts."

Something for the Dum expedition seems good too, but I do want Mathilde to get something out of this.
 
Like, can we get an example or two of what he might be expecting us to ask for, or what was received for a handover similar to this that happened in the past?

It's very difficult to grasp, what exactly the worth of maybe 100 college favour delivered into your hands so that you can refine all of it into progress at a much faster clip.
 
Since it is valid, I'd rather ask for assistance with Karaq Dum, and, should that alone be a small price, with at least one more military operation in the future.

The thread seems to be plenty cautious about The Expedition; this is a good way to start stacking the deck. Using Gold College Favour to held the dawi will probably please their Patriarch immensively, too. He wanted to reinforce relationships between Gold Mages and Dawi; what better way there is than to save some dawi lives?

Yes, it includes the bodies.
 
Could we -- in addition to whatever we ask for -- ask that they keep us in the loop on what sort of stuff they learn from the Skaven research?

So that, e.g., if the Skaven artifacts would have provided some interesting line of research to Mathilde, then she could still follow up on that research, or use that knowledge, on her own.

Also, wow, I was surprised to be the first to mention the Enchanting thing. (Albeit, by just one minute.) I was assuming it'd be among the first thing people would immediately bring up -- since, well, it has come up several times before. And also, the fact that Mathilde's Enchanting ability has been a recent conversational topic in the past few days, as people talk about a staff and new aethyric armor enchant.

I mean there's a bit more to it than is immediately obvious. Consider that Witch Hunters have killed plenty of wizards, then consider that Mathilde is a Grey. To a lot of wizards, wearing that hat is a declaration to always remember that the Greys in general and Mathilde in particular are prepared to hunt down and kill a wizard that broke the rules

What sort of price are we talking about:
- Access to artefacts/alchemy
- Pushing Mathilde further towards Lord Magister or other equivalent College political favour
- Personal assistance from Feldmann in a project
- Battle wizard or specialist Magister assistance with something
- Extra training in... something. Maybe Feldmann has some unique insights in how to not be overly influenced by your Wind?
 
First, whatever else we need to make sure we do right by Johann, almost half of what we have is thank to him and studying skaven tech is his pet project for years.

Second. remember what the Celestial patriarch said about our gunnery school in eight peak being needed? This seem like something we should bare in mind as everything we send is going to make them a target and we need to be the back up if the skaven attack. Under-Altdorf is the one of the biggest place in the under empire after all and this is motivation to move.

As for what to ask for... no idea.
