Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I've already discussed my reasoning in detail, but I'll repeat it for some of the more potentially contentious parts:

[ ] Plan Redshirt v1

[ ] MAX: Receive dictation: Queekish-Khazalid Lexicon
[ ] JOHANN: Have him teach Adela what he knows of engineering.
[ ] DUCK: Magical target-shooting is rough on normal targets. Set up a specialized target range for your ducklings, and for any other wizards at Eight Peaks.
[ ] EIC: Put policies in place that local news should be collected and sent to you (rumour mill).

[ ] Seek to build a stronger rapport with Qrech, and provide enough sources of mental stimulation that you can turn your attention elsewhere.
-[ ] Gambit: Convince Qrech that the Under-Empire has no way of knowing he's even alive, and that he should prioritize the comfort with which he will live the rest of his life.

[ ] Travel to the Grey College and attend lessons there x2:
-[ ] Waystone Fundamentals
-[ ] Practical Diplomacy

[ ] Dictate papers: Queekish-Khazalid Lexicon
-[ ] COIN: The Gambler

[ ] Investigate the exact circumstances required to induce a transformation.

[ ] BUILD: Have a gyrocopter landing pad built into your balcony.

[ ] SERENITY: Queekish-Reikspiel Lexicon (1/2)

Johann doesn't have an option to bring him in on the Warp-Engineer's notes yet, so I assume that's waiting on our translation being done. I've assigned him to teach Adela in the meantime.

For the ducklings, I was divided between the target practice choice and PanPan, but all indications are that she's in no rush to graduate, so something that helps all our students is probably better - and I like continuing to build up facilities for Wizards in general to use.

We don't really have a tower idea that's particularly necessary at the moment, IIRC, so I'd like to pay for the premium gyrocopter landing spot - make sure that the Eye can get activated right quick in an emergency.

Gambler is put on dictation to make sure we create a quality product - we're doing something relatively heterodox for Dwarves, so it's wise put our best foot forward.

Practical Diplomacy lessons are, imo, the best use of our Overwork action. We're playing in the big leagues now, so it's very much in our interests to be able to tread water with the big political players.

[ ] Plan Ratling Gun Qrench Edition WIP
[ ] MAX: Bring him into the classified study on Warptech and have him assist Johann with the Ratling Gun.
[ ] JOHANN: Study an artefact: specify which. RATLING GUN
[ ] DUCK: Johann's investigation into the ratling gun has hit a wall. See if you can help.
Might as well give it another try, now that we have the BOOK on the subject.
[ ] Reach out to Roswita, and have the EIC start passing on tips about any tax evasion or other naughtiness by the EIC's rivals.
Qrench
[ ] Try to deepen your understanding of Skaven warfare.
Gambit gets DECEIVER Bonus (and is free with the 1st interaction)
[ ] Convince Qrech that you seek an arrangement with Clan Moulder, and that you will release him as an ambassador for that arrangement once you are satisfied he'll cooperate.
OR
[ ] Convince Qrech you're ambitious and loyal only to yourself, and you're willing to repay his cooperation in ways that will benefit the Under-Empire.
I don't want Qrench to get depressed or worse, desperate. Not sure about investing a second Personal Action into Spoken Queekish
[ ] Wolf is fully grown and a Very Good Boy. Train him. (increases his intelligence, he may learn to speak Praestantia)
Penthouse
[ ] Add security measures to your Penthouse to prevent forcible entry.
Ranald's Coin
[ ] The Deceiver: specify how this will be used. Qrench's Gambit

No sure what to do with the Rest: Maybe invest a second Personal Action into Wolf
Eshin Paper can wait until next turn when we have the Extra Info from Qrench - or this turn if we have an Action left
Snek Juice can wait until next turn when we have Gambler

Room of Serenity:
[ ] Queekish-Khazalid Dictionary Might be worth investing a second Personal Action to finish it in 1 turn

Yea I'm going to be voting against AV and any research project for the forseable future unless we get a serious investment in this projects it's a waste of time otherwise tbh. Not even if you're putting Ulgu tongs on the table. It's just not worth it to dip in once every 5 turns.
well, thats not going to happen if you give up the turn after you did the long term project is it?

we did it lest term, at lest wait until we fail back to back before giving up...

The problem is that there is no guarantee that multi-turn research plans can coherently stick turn after turn, especially considering we are often swamped by contingencies interrupting research. At literally one research action per AP and considering the length of these research trees, as much as I want to pursue all these potential moonshot game changers, I just think we can't commit to it indefinitely because of the ebb and flow of turn and thread politics at one Research per AP relative to the massive length of these Research trees which I think looks fun to pursue, but I think would just be dipped into once every five turns as you've said.

It is not about giving up, it's about the fact it's painfully inefficient and competing with many other potentially compelling priorities. My stance is Research if manageable, not research at all costs.

If research efficiency can go up, I'd reconsider and almost certainly will change my position. Don't get me wrong - my position is not against AV, but every single multi-turn research project unrelated to our job, except maybe preparing for Waystones because there's a very high chance Belegar might make it part of our next job depending on how things goes.

And no, you are not going to convince me that it's magically suddenly more efficient to research AV, or research efficiency doesn't matter simply by asserting it.

Timeless means its not going to fade from memory(coz we got hardcopy), not that its strategic relevance remains constant.
Well yes but my worry is about our memory. :V

I'll just put my own tweek forward.

@BoneyM This will have been answered before but would Johann be useful helping with then translation project? I couldn't find it in the FAQ threadmarks.

Belegar has explicitly told us to continue with the Queekish and that it is still very important, we should at least use one AP to try to get spoken Queekish...

espet that we have the chance now to do them back to back on AV, and your the one going 'lets not' so excuse me if your argument is suspect.

@Jyn Ryvia I like it. But I agree with Lupercal that we should write a paper on Eshin Sorcery first.

How does College reputation/favors work for Skaven stuff by the way? As I see it, reputation shouldn't really grow much, but favors should because essentially those that already know about Skaven and also have connections should be able to "translate" the favors into generic College favor.

I'm uncertain about this part @Redshirt Army as Qrech is unlikely to believe this unless we set our coin to the Deceiver.

Huh. Surprised there wasn't some sort of Nekrian magical weapon in storage if there was a nat 100.

It was in the cards, but I rolled a d6 for it and the result was LODS OF EMONE.

Johann only speaks two languages, Reikspiel and bad Reikspiel.

I don't understand what you're asking.

It's time to help Panoramia with her Magister application. We know the pain of having not enough time to improve oneself (remember how long it took for us to get around to solving the Mirror Snek? Just taking the time to work with Panoramia here is time well spent. She deserves to be a Magister, and just needs to take the time to study.

As for the Johann action, I don't know if Skaven use cartridges, but if they do, that's about the most useful thing Johann can do. Even bullets are an improvement over balls. Sometimes small, simple things are most important.

For the Personal Actions, we do Khazalid before Reikspiel because we can't end the project thist turn without getting that dictionary out. We finish up next turn with the Reikspiel. I used Wolf as the overaction because teaching him to speak would be huge, and allow him to do independent actions. Also, it seems like a step that would help learn how to speak Queekish, for those interested in that. Ideally, Wolf would learn how to speak Queekish at some point, depending on how he feels about that.

@BoneyM: Mathilde is somewhat familiar with firearms, using some herself. Do skaven bullets look (just from a surface glance) very different than her ball and shot? I figure Mathilde wouldn't bother if they looked exactly the same as human bullets, but I wanted to be sure.

[ ] PLAN WOLF
-[ ] JOHANN: Study an artefact: Skaven bullets
-[ ] MAX: Receive dictation: Queekish-Khazalid Dictionary
-[ ] EIC: Put policies in place that local news should be collected and sent to you (rumour mill).
-[ ] DUCK: Panoramia's about ready to test for Magister, but she's putting it off because she doesn't have a lot of free time to prepare. Work with her to help make the most of every spare minute.
-[ ] TOWER: Have a tower built atop Karag Nar: -100gc for 1 room, bonus to room's purpose.
-[ ] SERENITY: Queekish-Reikspiel Dictionary, part 1/2
-[ ] P1: Dictate papers: Queekish-Khazalid Dictionary
-[ ] P2: Seek to build a stronger rapport with Qrech, and provide enough sources of mental stimulation that you can turn your attention elsewhere.
-[ ] P3: Travel to the Grey College and attend lessons there: Waystone Class

The best way to get AV research done is make it part of Mathilde's duties after the Queekish translation project.
Separate, non-overlapping factions.

...dude, Panoramia straight out told us she doesn't care, she doesn't have ANY use for the title, because all it grants are things she can't use for the next 5 years or so.
