It's awkward going to meet the Ar-Ulric, but it could be worse - it could just as easily have been the Arch Lector of the Sigmarites, and then we'd really be in trouble.

Ok, so I realized that if this is about the Ulrikadrin, we've already had this conversation from the other side. It confused us and we made some commitments, so let's look back:
Gods, Glau. I'm prepping myself for a fancy dinner and you've made me come down with some cold sweats.

We need to get some answers out of Ruprecht when we get back.

In hindsight, I'm really glad we're on good terms with the Emperess consort, and that she has a vested interest in ensuring that we're around to do our thing.

[X] Agree to meet the Ar-Ulric.

I don't believe this, but one could optimistically believe that he just wants dwarf favor, since Belegar has been uncharacteristically generous.

People are way too willing to put a lot of trust in the Emperess to bail us out if we fuck up. (not that I think it will be needed.)

please remember that this is the woman that had to roll to see if she actually loves her son.

friendly, but self-centred and selfish is a nice way to look at her. affably sociopathic is the other, and we don't know her well enough ether way to tell.

we are both Ranalds pals, but Ranald is not strictly a god of good or even nice even if he can be. the same is can be said of this priests.

I don't think she is going to fuck us, but let's not expect help if it would be troublesome for her.

the Ar-Ulric is one of the people that are powerful enough to be very troublesome for her.

You are thinking about Grand Theogonist, whom we indeed deeply dislike. Arch-Lectors (there are several) we do not have a particular grudge against, and they might be fine people (who happens to serve an unowrty deity, but may do a lot of good regardless).

The only hesitation I have about this is that if it's a trap and he kills us, we won't have time to write that Queekish dictionary.
Worth the risk?
I'm betting yes.

...What if Ar-Ulric, like Ruprecht, overthought Mathilde's purpose in K8P expedition, and is also thinking that she was there to observe, and, in case of dire need, do something about Winter Wolves as an Agent of the Empire?

And then during the meeting, he is going to be all like "Well Emperor apparently decided that those guys are okay after listening to what you had to say, but I'd like to hear your report on the Winter Wolves too?.." and do a bunch of "I know you know, and carelessly reference a bunch of stuff I think you know" that Ruprecht also did.

/not particularly serious

Question: i probably didn't read where we decided this, but what did we decide to do with the knowledge that a god (yes grombri, i'm talking about you) is walking among the people of our liege (belebro!!!) ?
