ooh, just imagine the Favor we can get if we give it to the Amber, the Supreme Patriarch is already raising one Dragon, another would be a great boost to the Empire
Considering that the dragon The Empire already possesses is noted for demanding increasing sums of the Empires treasury for its hoard I am unsure The Empire could afforded another dragon.

Like, while dragons can theoretically be reasoned with in some circumstances; I'm pretty sure "vacate your home for the last however many centuries and don't take any of your hoard from it" is the sort of request that results in instant death.

Hmm, how much black lotus poison d'you think it'd take to kill a dragon? or at least make it vulnerable to leaping-from-invisibility coup de grace?

I wonder if we could release a bunch of farm animals into spooky death mountain and see what happens to them through a telescope.
if we can nap some of Eshin warp poison, i say we go and drug the thing with it and then apply sword to brain, cause i doubt any normal poison or toxin would work

or maybe get a Carnosaur

Okay so based on prior discussion, sketch of options:

[ ] Plan Translation Extraction
-[ ] MAX: Study an artefact: Skaven book on the Anatomy of Chaos Dwarves.
-[ ] JOHANN: Join him on raids into Clan Mors territory with the aim of finding written correspondence. (NEW)
-[ ] DUCK: Gretel's motivated by wealth. Take her on a raid against Clan Mors, looking for wealth and Queekish. (NEW-ish)
-[ ] EIC: Have the Eight Peaks branch keep a careful eye on the mood and actions of the Undumgi.
-[ ] Attempt to learn a spell from scrolls (specify which, will be harder than studying it at the Grey College)
--[ ] Invisibility
-[ ] Red Tower: build a tower that uses Aqshy to create mystical flames (and non-mystical light) to use the mountain at night.
-[ ] Seek to build a stronger rapport with the Skaven, and see about supplying sources of mental stimulation that your company isn't the only thing keeping him sane.
--[ ] Convince Qresh you're ambitious and loyal only to yourself, and you're willing to repay his cooperation in ways that will benefit the Under-Empire.
-[ ] Supply a steady stream of Queekish documents for him to translate, and carefully check the results for consistency.
--[ ] Convince Qresh that the Empire has already translated Queekish, but his help could provide a faster turnaround and better help you plan an attack on Clan Mors.
-[ ]Serenity: Write a paper: Your personal understanding of countering Waaagh Magic. (FADING)
-[ ]Penthouse: Add security measures to your Penthouse to prevent surreptitious entry. (NEW)
-[ ] The Deceiver: Support Skaven Gambit(s)

This goes for a major focus on the translation effort getting as many references on the topic as possible and our minions all doing useful things to get it done, the Tower is pretty much finished with the ability to fire 24/7 anyway, and we can trust that cloud cover can be burned through at minor loss.

The version which goes for 24/7, no matter what the weather is, it will work and it will work well.

E: Shifted both to Undumgi Overwatch for EIC, on account of it being a good point

hm, how do our various stealth work, cause it would be hilariously easy to just walk in, nap an egg and leg it

Even better would be to leg it to another nearby mountain occupied by the Skaven or Orks to lure the Dragon to them and make them fight each other while Mathilde quietly walks away with the Egg.

Than wait till the Dragon eighter wins or loses and finish off whoever survives the fight and take two mountains at once in pirce of one.

I'm definitely up for Cartographer relatively soon though after we're done with the skaven. Lots of useful opportunities in the peaks and that would give us the go ahead to get a better idea of what we can get out of them.

Information Mathilde would know: frost dragons are the 'normal' dragons with pale blue scales and freezing breath. Ice dragons are the name for Emperor Dragons of that sub-type.

Ah, @BoneyM, why do some of the lines in the options say "Qrech" and others "Qresh"? The, er, title or header ones usually use Qrech. The option ones have Qresh.
I feel the need to reiterate the consistence of broken bones among the corpses found.
Hmm, well if it's some kind of Madness Plague perhaps...? Something that causes delirium or berserk rage in everybody who inhales it. Or Warpstone contamination that causes the same. So they beat the crap out of each other, breaking their bones... On the other hand, wouldn't really explain why the lack of Trolls or Troll corpses. Well, maybe if the Goblin and Skaven corpses are not safe to eat, even for Trolls...?

Feh. For all we know, maybe it's Daemons. Or maybe whatever-it-was, took control of the Trolls, and led them all into Kvinn-Wyr. Maybe it's one of those things from the Orcslayer novel. :V

yeah, that's gonna be an issue.
well that only for killing it for it mat drop

stealing it egg ( if it have any) is a different issue

we need to know if it can sense us through our various stealth to get close to it and how far is it senses so that we can leg it with out it tracking us back to the Dwarf

Bones being broken suggests 2 things:
1) Its a predator that specifically enjoys bone marrow
2) Its a necromancer farming for bodies, they left the ones with broken bones because they can't be used easily and took the rest.

Do we actually need to retake Karag Zilfin though? Just as Karag Nar has been sublet to humans, if the dragon agrees to form an alliance with Karak Eight Peaks, is it really a problem?

Now, I think we'd need to call in Asarnil so that Deathfang can translate and act as an example of productive collaboration between tiny two legged meat snacks and the glorious draconic uber-race, but it would be a pretty enormous coup. An allied dragon would be a pretty extraordinary advantage for Karak Eight Peaks to have.

Now, this may be politically unacceptable, of course, so another option to try to generate elf Favour early is to see if Asarnil can take the ice dragon back to Ulthuan. If I remember correctly, Asarnil's motivaion is to do something so impressive that he can return to Ulthuan in glory while Finubar has to back down and apologise. Dragons are rare and powerful enough strategic assets to the high elves that this might be enough.

If this dragon is female then Deathfang might be pleased to make her acquaintance as well.

@BoneyM - sorry if this was answered before but could we, considering the low number of remaining spells pay instructors for availability in College favour to learn the 3 of them in one go?

[] MAX: Bring him into the classified study on Warptech and have him assist Johann with the Ratling Gun. (NEW)
[] JOHANN: Join him on raids into Clan Mors territory with the aim of finding written correspondence. (NEW)

[ ] DUCK: Adela's interested in mechanics, see if anyone you can introduce her to would be willing to teach her.
[ ] DUCK: Hubert wants glory. Take him on a sortie against Clan Mors, with the side-goal of finding written correspondence. (NEW-ish)
[ ] DUCK: Gretel's motivated by wealth. Take her on a raid against Clan Mors, looking for wealth and Queekish. (NEW-ish)
Either help Adela with her wallbanging or look for more documents to get Qresh to translate.

[ ][EIC] Put policies in place that local news should be collected and sent to you (rumour mill).
[ ][EIC] Have the Eight Peaks branch keep a careful eye on the mood and actions of the Undumgi.
[ ][EIC] Have the Eight Peaks branch keep a careful eye on the mood and actions of the non-Undumgi civilians of Karag Nar.

[ ][Task] Seek to expand the capability of the Grey Tower to absorb and store power for independent firing.
[ ][Task] Blue Tower: build a tower that uses Azyr to create clear sky on demand.
[ ][Task] Red Tower: build a tower that uses Aqshy to create mystical flames (and non-mystical light) to use the mountain at night.
Take two here.

[ ] Supply a steady stream of Queekish documents for him to translate, and carefully check the results for consistency.
[ ][Gambit] Convince Qresh that the Empire has already translated Queekish, but his help could provide a faster turnaround and better help you plan an attack on Clan Mors.
Use the Deceiver to help sell this.
[ ] Attempt to learn a spell from scrolls: Invisibility
Must have to avoid a negtrait.
[ ][Serenity] Waaagh or Necrarch Mist
[ ] Your dungeon was built with a reasonable amount of paranoia. Apply an unreasonable amount of paranoia.
Let's make sure we actually get to keep our prisoner.
[ ] The Deceiver: specify how this will be used.
Use it to sell our Qresh Gambit.

Honestly, I wonder if we can't call The big-gun chap, you know, wizard lord who we met in the Zoo?

He:
- Can turn into a dragon
- Can help distract the Ice Dragon while we invisibly teleport around it and hit it with shadowknives (to reposition) and our sword of strength: yes
- Can have the favour repaid for a quick Gyrocopters flight and a dragon-brawl (i.e. a few days) with the eggs.
- We get dragonbone for our staff, and hopefully by that time we'll be able to stick powerstones into it for extra cool stuff.

Guys. Guys.

I wanna build a snowm- fight an Ice Dragon.

Not now, of course, but in a few turns.[/I]

Well then. It's lucky we have access to a dragon rider and a Magister Lord who can transform into a dragon. Regardless, it's probably best to look into that as late as possible.

We should focus on the skaven now. With our prisoner, we just gained a powerful asset and getting rid of them really helps us out.

As for Mhonar, is there a stealthy bone-eater species anywhere in the lore?

I remember reading a WHF quest with stealthy wendigo types, but I'm not really sure if they're canon.

I'm not sure any kind of diplomatic solution will be acceptable to the dwarfs and the dragon; the dwarfs will consider the dragon's goods (and home) stolen property, and the only non-grudging solution is full recompense, which I doubt in the extreme persuading any dragon to take.

I think this is solid. However, I do still believe that this is not using Max well. I would prefer this:
-[ ] MAX: Bring him into the classified study on Warptech and have him assist Johann with the Ratling Gun.
Max is not a trained codebreaker. Max is a trained smith and engineer with Patient and Law of Logic. If Johann's worked himself into a corner, Max is probably the best-qualified person to help him out. Given that Gotri is a Radical who is introducing new weaponry left and right, how much do you think he'd love a reverse-engineered Ratling Gun that doesn't use warptech?
