...Maybe the Iron Orcs of Carcassonne are hiding really well because the knights keep looking for where they are rather than where they're not.

In all seriousness, it'd be perfectly within Ulgu's wheelhouse to make a ritual working along those lines. Something similar to the Unplottable ritual idea that's on the Approved Spells post, but working on a slightly different principle.

Just now responding to the replies to the thing I wrote, like, over a week ago because brains be like that sometimes.
Honestly I think the emotional numbing works if it's in regard to like, opposing mental spells or dhar/chaos corruption. That's not what the description actually says, of course, but I like the idea that in this one case the typically literal and direct Chamon focuses on metaphor for the purification and hardening of one's heart, that it guards the user against 'changing their heart'.
I don't hate this idea actually, but you are also correct that it is not at all what the description actually says.

But yeah, the idea of gilding your heart giving you a "constant and unwavering heart" that lets you resist fear spells, bewitchment, corruption etc. has some real vibes honestly.
It doesn't sound like gilding your lungs REMOVES the need to breath it just means you don't suffer any other effects of things-that-aren't-oxygen getting into your lungs, so that wouldn't seem to be what it'd do to the stomach, but also just as a matter of principal my understanding that gilding, as gold is "the perfect metal" gilding turns an organ into a perfect version of that organ. A perfect stomach isn't a stomach that doesn't need to eat, a perfect stomach is rather one that digest EVERYTHING.

So, I'd say a "lower" tuned gilded stomach would be one that "merely" manages to get every calorie out of anything you eat, or if that's not good enough one that start's letting you digest literally anything, letting you get nutrition out of rocks or whatnot in addition to the "immunity to ingested poisons and diseases" which I do agree with you on.
I mean, the book does literally say "you no longer need to breathe air":

To be fair, you could theoretically parse that as "you no longer need to breathe air" so you still have to breathe something it just doesn't matter what (though this creates the possibility of a very peculiar scenario where a person who can't drown can still be suffocated by a pillow over their face), in which case a gilded stomach letting you digest literally anything but not removing the need to eat would demonstrate conceptual symmetry as you suggested. So at that point I'd say it's just a judgment call whether you like the idea of allowing weird scenarios like that or not; personally I can see the appeal of either approach honestly.

You know. Windherding works with enchantment right? I wonder if we can make an windherding battle alter with multplie morbs, or one morb and several other wind powersstones, as a long term web-mat action

Maybe closer to the Fidelius? A cognitive break, sort of like what was done at Vlag. Even if they're looking right at it, their mind just won't process that it's there.

I'd hazard we could get an article 7 exemption to experiment with the souls of Skaven, Orcs and Goblins.
I suspect Gork&Mork and the Rat respectively would object. Violently.
Cython? CYTHON! GET OVER HERE BUDDY I HAVE A GREAT IDEA-
More like:
You want to do what?!

If you really wanna see me hate something fictional you'd be much better served looking at how I treat Mandalorians :V
So you are a good counterpart to Karen Traviss?
Ulrican smut novels are a horrifying thing.
I think Ulricans of all people would understand how wolfpacks work.

I imagine the possibility is there, but the chances of a miscast go up significantly with every tier of enchantment, and Windherding adds additional complexity.

Wrangling two battle magics together into one device is going to be very, very risky. We'd also need to up Mathilde's enchanting game, as she can't handle even one battle magic yet. Undeniably cool, though, and risks are likely to be necessary to go any further into Magic.

If we could move swiftly on from the horror that is O-verse...

Something about the pitfalls and requirements needed to do this line of inquiry justice has me picturing a natural wildlife researcher who specializes in Aethyric spirits

For some reason, they talk and act like nothing so much as a Wizard version of Steve Irwin.
"Crickey! Look at the etheric emanations on that beaut! I'm gonna wrestle it!"

Definitely an Amber Wizard, although the friendliest you'll ever meet. Last seen departing on an expedition to a lost continent south of Nippon.

What convinced me to vote for One Rider :
- The Dämmerlichter look, if the vote for form had come at the same time as the number vote I might have decided differently (a trio of big cats to handle big monsters or fuck up someone's day, a lance of templars or a band of giant spiders let's say) but the Dämmerlichter is really made to be unique
- Some of the reasonning I liked for apparition-binding was about pluging holes in the College's arsenal wrt getting stuck in battle and direct damage to one person, wich is handled well enough by one rider
- Especially with the coin on it to increase the chance of making it accessible to larger numbers, while a BM spell would be much more restricted
- Even more so when there is a good chance to use the Whispering Darkness to make a Mathilde-safe BM, while the Dämmerlichter doesn't qualify and with a possible bonus to create such spells by learning from this first experience

Ultimately, it looks to me like more riders would just be a inferior version of the same spell made with whispering darkness as far as Mathilde is concerned without providing substantial improvement to other people already able to cast "delete that unit over there" (wich seems like it would be the required standard) that wouldn't also be achived with another apparition.

[x] [NUMBER] One
[x] [BEHAVIOUR] Bodyguard
[x] [BEHAVIOUR] Duel
[x] [BEHAVIOUR] Charge

So, I gotta wonder - could we rig up whispering shadows so that our shadow directs them? Seems like it would be gated behind one or both of our mark control actions.

You know, while it would be a very 'post-quest' thing.

I am curious how adding 'bodyguard' to the riders nature will effect it after mathy dies.

Will it go out into the world Looking for a spot/person to guard from destructive magic?

Like will there be a kid out there one day in striland who thinks they have an imaginary friend that kills all the zombies.

Or a place in K8Ps that no dark wizards/bright wizards should dare to enter.

You know it's really funny to me how I became the "I HATE DWARFS I HATE DWARFS I HATE DWARFS" shitposter guy when I've been positively gentle towards them every time I write them.

I love the way that Boney's handled the dwarfs here, but I have to admit that there's a bit of a double standard surrounding how elves get treated by a lot of the fandom.

It's because we are taller than dwarfs and can run faster than them, and can consider ourselves better looking; a little psychological cushion, if you will. With elves we got nothing. Nothing at all. And so we resent them more fully.

personally i thinks it's the yorkshire accent. it takes all the bite out of the claim.

while elves commonly are depicted to speak the queen's english. which is impossible to trust and is built to be condescending.
