No one is interested in these eggs, eh?

Not really, sorry.
We have about half-dozen more interesting or close to Mathilde topics languishing in dust for years, and will probably pick up more things to poke in the coming years of shadow war with skaven and goblins and whatever else lurks in K8P.

If we were Jade or Amber, I'd be more inclined to keep them and mayhaps get started on halfling lizard cavalry regiments over in K8P - hella flavourful, if ridiculous, idea. But as is...naaah.

Also, Empire is probably happy about something being about Dragon Ogres and not bad news. :V

All in all, I can't decide between making this round of choices as an Empire round - and make no mistake, I'm going for lingering in Altdorf, not for a chance to get an appointment, but to better advise Belegar on Umgi matters and possible sources of support - and scouting the rest of Eight Peaks, which is time-sensitive, although, probably, not that essential - the rangers have proven themselves up to the task.

Actually, you have a point: we can play a part of Spymaster for Belegar better if we have a better idea of what's going on in the Empire. So lingering in Altdort has uses for that too.

Would rather prefer to scout out dark places of K8P just to make sure we are not missing Skavens building Doomsphere in the Abyss or whatnot though. Eigh, decisions....

If this is going to be CKII Dwarf King Advisor quest, which, okay better than nothing, I would at least like to be extremely outward-facing. Interesting foreign adventures! Trade bargains! Politics! Dwarves can handle the monster-fighting; it's our expertise in everything outside that is sadly needed.

[X] Though your future relationship with the spiders is still unknown, they do appear to be a new species and you do have a number of corpses available. Have Esbern and Seija help you autopsy the creatures for a paper.

See that last one about reporting to the Gray College? I'd like folks to carefully consider that one. Ultimately the Empire and the Grey College that helps keep it together should be our true loyalty here. Now this isn't incompatible with also working with King Belegar, but I'd like to keep really close ties to the College. Keep the favors and information flowing; keep us in their minds. Don't just disappear into the mountains.

@BoneyM

Is there any reason we can't write the paper in Lingua prestantia with regards to the Waaaagh paper that should have the language needed to convey even incredibly esoteric concepts. Perhaps something we could do in a future action?

So I'm gonna make an argument that we should snag the King's Armory choice right now instead of waiting to move stuff in the first actual turn.

As it is right now, we are going to have a lot on our plate in the coming turn; with dealing with the Undumgi and Ulricians and whatever they raise as needed work, further scouting of Karak Eight Peaks and possible sabotage, and finally settling down to research Snake Juice, the Coin, possibly the Book, and Ranaldian Theurgy. We have six actions, and if one of them needs to be spent on going to get the stuff we want to research on so we can research it that's one action not spent doing our job or our research.

Furthermore the faster we get it out of the empire, the less Snake Juice we have to eventually get rid of under Wurtbad by moving it here or disposing of it.

In return right now we have to decide if we want to give up on one of these options, though I do vaguely recall Boney saying that if we go to Wurtbad we'll be able to drop by to see Anton and Wilhelmina very very briefly. @BoneyM what did you say on this matter if anything?

Recalling that these Interlude actions are important to setting up what we do next, ("Your choices will not lock you into a course, but it would be wise to have paved the way at least slightly for what you end up deciding.")
So far, we've picked actions that support:
2x This suggests a future assisting Karak Eight Peaks with foreign relations, as a Spymaster focused on threats outside the Karak. (High King, Kazador/Sky Thane)
1x This suggests a future assisting Karak Eight Peaks with its reconquest, as a Spymaster focused on threats within the Karak. (Spiders)
1x This suggests a future of investigation and study at Karak Eight Peaks, and perhaps helping Johann poke at Skaven technology. (Publishing Papers)
1x This suggests a future assisting Karak Eight Peaks, as leader of the Undumgi and point of contact for the Ulricans. (Karag Nar urban planning)
1x This suggests a future catching up on your pre-existing study topics. (Warlock of Sunrise Mountain)

Eh.
The blurb about Colleges also said that Greys tend to be most loyal and honest in their own way, because it'd be dangerous to let anyone else wield this kind and type of power.

I'd like to think Mathilde is not terribly fond of betraying trust of her friend(s) out of the blue; not when she can probably wheedle out the approval for the reveal from Belegar sometime later anyway, the Dwarf Divide being somewhat non-time-critical data for Empire anyway.

But I can see where you are coming from too; as I've said, it's a title drop of a vote, keeping in our mind that Mathilde has her loyalties pulled several ways, which she has to balance.

If it could express the concepts you were trying to voice, you'd have used it. Turns out the insights into Waaagh energy stolen from the mind of a greenskin god don't translate well to human or Elven dialects.

That's correct, retrieving items from Wurtbad will come with visits, though much briefer than if you went there specifically for them.

Huh, yeah, we literally got first-hand info from Mork himself lol

Combined with how we kept messing with their Shamans, Mathilde is probably narratively one individual with rather deep understanding of Waagh energies.
